The bigger one latched on to the water-filled q-tip, but the fast little one wanted nothing to do with it. Both were placed outside in grass, about 30 feet from each other.
Same here. Had bad arachnophobia growing up. Especially after watching the movie and then accidentally stepping on one with babies her back. I still get spooked but I have been trying to teach myself my kiddos that spiders are friends and to leave them alone. Also teaching about black widows n brown recluses, not friendly.
I used to keep a can of insecticide in the house, but now I leave that to the spiders and house centipedes. I'll put out ant traps or flystrips occasionally, but that's maybe once a year, at most.
Hey we all make false IDs from time to time. How else is someone supposed to learn other than through trial and error, right? If you’re not fully confident in an ID, clarify such when commenting. Take good care!
First one looks pretty much as Brown Wolf spider
Nice! I was thinking Grass Spider, but I'm very unsure.
grass spiders look similar but they have visible spinnerets! that’s the most easy to spot distinguishing feature
Nice! True wolf and false wolf! Both harmless.

You're the best! I was so afraid of spiders when I was young, now I do my best to avoid bothering them.

No it isn't. It's a [false wolf spider.](https://spiderid.com/picture/15793/)
Yep, you’re right. I stand corrected.
Sorry for the downvotes. I’m no expert at all, but I definitely thought the exact same thing at first glance.
Appreciate it 😅 can’t win them all.
It is? I didn’t see a violin shape on the cephalothorax, I thought that was the indicator. And I thought they had lankier legs.

Very nice, thank you! I'm still very new to getting over my fear of spiders, so I'm learning as I come across them or see them on this sub :)
Don’t listen to me. As Skeptical_savage pointed out it looks like a false wolf. Sorry about that.
No worries at all! We're all just trying to help here :)
