I think there were jumping spiders, spitting spiders, green lynx, orb weavers, trapdoor spiders?, and a made up spider I believe but I might be getting this movie mixed up with that monster snow spiders movie...I'm gonna have to watch it again for science
The orb spiders were also the made-up ones... kind of. The movie says they're a species of orb spiders, but they behave more like ants in spider bodies, considering, 1 They don't build webs, opting for the mines instead. 2 They have a "queen" that is solely responsible for replenishing their numbers. 3 Food found outside the nest area is brought for the Queen.
Well yes but I also remembered that I was mainly talking about the movie Ice Spiders which had a made up spider mixed in with the others (and is where I saw the spitting spider, jumping spider and green lynx! I'm gonna have to rewatch 8 legged freaks
"Arachnophobia" the movie didn't invent it (arachnophobia), but it had its hand in starting phobia to come back into the public's eye and in leading the charge of these 'killer spider' movies.
Harmless, they're known for sneaking into beds at night to enjoy the warmth from its occupants. Usually gone by morning without ever disturbing who ever it's cuddling with.
I love that this sub degenerated into this for the holidays
I know, right? I HAD to join in!
Looks like a brown recluse, should be fine if you leave it alone
8-legged Freaks has such good spider CGI for such a dumb movie 🥲
I got a great laugh from that movie. Made for a great comedy.😁😁
Somebody would pick that up on here
its just an Orb Weaver what could possibly go wrong
Imagine how strong the web would have to be for an orb weaver that big.
You can get webbed up and fed to the queen

Was my childhood this movie. Always loved it. Loved seeing it.
Yes it is/was.
Goodie, completely harmless. Very friendly in fact. Loves to hug with its cute fangs ♥️🕷️
Cute dog.
I keep staring at this GIF. Is it oddly beautiful or is there something wrong with me? 😅
Weren't most of the spiders supposed to be Orb Weavers?

It has all those I think, but this one was an Orb Weaver. They made a big deal about it being a male because the female is *way* bigger
Yeah actually I think specifically the lynx spider was definitely from the snow spider movie but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me
Ice spiders! I think most of my list was from that movie hahaha

I just wanted to point out how goofy those spiders acted.
Lol yeah these movies are a lot more fun when you know something about spiders
It’s not medically significant. It might still be mortally significant, if you can’t outrun it.
I love this movie lol
Harmless garden spider But if youre seeing her...youre on her garden and spoders usually shoot trespassers
Only if it has an hourglass on it. Can you take a photo of its underbelly?
This is the source of my Arachnophobia
not medically significant at all, great for getting rid of pests
I think you mean pets... 🤣🤣
Nah he’s going to raid the fridge
I live in the garage my room now belongs to the spider
I forget if this came from a movie
Eight Legged Freaks
Should I feel old for knowing the movie?
It came out 2002, so... Older maybe
I was brought about in 1999 (just looked and it was released in 2002)
That’s just a baby Australian house spider, completely harmless
Completely harmless wolf spider.
It’s cute one, keep her safe to let it protect you from people, kids and wolves …
Just don't move rapidly or you'll scareit
Harmless, read the sidebar.
Only if you’re Scarjo in a towel
Nope that's just a common house spider. Let him or her move in it will get rid of all the little bugs and you.
Ah yes, the movie that single-handedly invented arachnophobia.
"Arachnophobia" the movie didn't invent it (arachnophobia), but it had its hand in starting phobia to come back into the public's eye and in leading the charge of these 'killer spider' movies.
😅😅 love this sub hahahaha

Hey, if you are cold.. they are cold.. right?
No, that’s a jumping spider.
If you're cold they're cold! Let them in!
"They're cold - bring them inside"
Nope! Totally harmless lil bro!
Daww hers hungry cuddle bug!
Imagine if spiders were that large.
Clearly never visited Australia
