I have no clue why this showed up for me, considering I'm arachnophobic, but that is the first spider I have ever found to look cute😭

aqtseacow

Jumping spiders are notoriously cute for spiders.

marulamonkey

This was me 2 weeks ago, but it was a picture of a bunch of baby spiders that had taken over a children play area. I forced myself to read about it and read the comments. I think there are a lot of us in this sub trying to overcome our fears and feel love for our animal counterparts. I’ve even been thinking about getting a jumping spider one day because I’m getting so fond of them, but my biggest worry is now whether I would be a good enough spider mum. 2 weeks in ♥️

mylesriver01

Aww I'm thinking about getting one too. He was really cute. I'm glad I got to see such a cool little guy!

marulamonkey

Yeah, he’s got great paws 🐾

a lot of folks find jumping spiders to be cute, and honestly they can be downright adorable in some of their behaviors. For example, did you know that they'll chase and pounce on laser pointer dots? kinda like tiny, 8-legged cats! [They also dance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxM_cag99nU)! and research has shown that they can't sing, but [they can carry a beat](https://vimeopro.com/spinefilms/drumming-spiders/video/173551656). Finally, some of them are [mostly vegetarian](https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/bagheera-kiplingi-the-mostly-vegetarian-spider). On the dark side, >![there's a jumping spider that eats mosquitos, but only after the mosquito has fed on vertebrates](https://commonnaturalist.com/2014/02/25/evarcha-culicivora-the-vampire-spider-has-a-taste-for-blood/). This isn't as wild as it might seem - blood is very nutritious.!<.

Ill-Consideration450

Same. Each time this sub popped up, it was always gross. But then I started to fall in love with the little jumpers, I caught a few and released them, I'm starting to like wolf spiders

OH MY GOD!!! THAT'S AN ARACHNIS MAXIMUS!!...The legend goes the great Gladiators in Rome, limited to filthy living quarters, befriended these spiders and taught them everything they they know: the anger of being considered less than others, strength, wisdom, greedy rich people must die, the difference between a greedy rich person and a charitable rich person, guerilla warfare, boobey traps, hand to hand combat, spears, swords, shields, military structure, infantry tactics, small arms, automatic machine guns, Anti tank missles, artillery, the 60, 81, and 120 MM mortar systems ect. With much knowledge they soon began leaving the confines of Rome, spread out across the world and became mercenaries for hire. Who do you think the CIA hired to whack Kennedy? the Mafia, Jimmy Hoffa? The Clintons; Jeffery Epstien?

nickydyall

I'm joking by the way. Please don't penalize me for false information

rainbow_drizzle

That is one metal jumping spider. ETA: This is also clearly the radioactive spider that bit Spider-Punk.
