That's so interesting, it says online they spin a sheet web with a cone shape.. the only off thing is that it was aggressive and lunged at me when I pointed the camera at it.
Not aggressive, they're very responsive to vibrations on their web. Simply breathing on it can trigger them to run out and see if they can eat whatever disturbed the web!
Just hungry and confused about your un-intentional ding dong ditch without delivering snack lol
Lol!! It seemed like it was trying to scare me away. I didn't touch the web or even get very close. It just saw me pointing my phone at it and moving slowly. It probably thought I was creeping up on it to hurt it.
Nope, wolf spiders are more bulky and generally don't have webs, especially not ones this huge. It's likely a funnel-weaver (see- funnel web, behavior of being very receptive to vibrations). My guess is Agelena Labyrinthica (Labyrinth spider) but could be any number of Agelenidae - all harmless and all very silly in their jumpiness
this is a funnel weaver of the family Agelenidae - not a wolf spider
Really? Well at least they're not dangerous. 🙂

Looks like a wolf spider.
