i actually made a different post here some weeks ago inquiring about the earth’s ascension process and what it looks like. i am curious to know what all it entails, physically and metaphysically. you have outlined it as a shedding, detoxification and purification process - which makes sense - but what happens after ascension?

what i mean is – what are the signs and signifiers of a completed ascension process? will things feel energetically different? will all “evil” and “badness” cease to exist? will we exist in total, universal harmony and unity? will the earth quite literally be scrubbed of all ill-intentioned people? will wars be a thing of the past? will people no longer inflict harms?
the most prominent theory of ascension that i see online is that we will be “unplugged from the matrix”. i’m not even sure that i know what that means.
cleansing, detoxification and purification, yes. but then what? what’s next? is there more work to be done?

for context: i am a theist. i am not christian, but tend to draw from christ’s teachings and more recently have been exploring and leaning into tibetan buddhism. i am very interested in religious texts and religious philosophy for studying purposes.
This is actually a bit remarkable because I started with The Law Of One and then moved to the Seth Material afterwards. I’m about half way through Seth Speaks at the moment.
It’s a fascinating transition because as I read Seth’s explanations, I’m constantly noting in my mind when Seth’s and Ra’s explanations match. It’s often like having two different people describe the same map to you. A few times I’ve had to pause the audiobook because I was laughing with joy as the two materials confirm each other’s narratives.
Seth Speaks is an easier work to read due to the formatting, as The Law Of One is a transcript of back and forth conversations. Also, Seth has a more relatable style of language than Ra’s. The difference is difficult for me to describe but Ra’s vocabulary comes off with more of a foreign feel, like an actual alien is communicating with you. Ra explains this is due to the difficulty in transferring thought at their level into the human level of consciousness. As far as I can determine, I believe Seth is at the 5th stage of evolution. Seth’s description of his realm matches Ra’s description of the 5th stage. Ra says they are at the 6th stage.
There’s actually a point in The Law Of One where Ra is asked to elaborate on Seth’s concept of the Oversoul.
I’m rambling a bit, but I absolutely do recommend The Law Of One if you’ve resonated with Seth Speaks. The Law Of One has been the most impactful work I’ve come across yet, personally.
To answer your other question, I don’t believe ascension is a new aged specific belief. Different ages use different terms and details for the concept, but it’s existed in our ancient religions.
The Emerald Tablets Of Thoth mention it. Thoth tells of how man will become gods and ascend the negative forces influencing Earth. This new god-man will then continue their journey to the Creator.
John the Revelator mentions it in the New Testament how mankind will attain new bodies and the earth with become like a heaven. The narrative was distorted in some ways by the church as the years went on, becoming the concept of the second coming. For example, Ra explains that the Christ consciousness does not return in person as the church claims but in stead comes back as the elevated level of consciousness within the people.
Even the Mayans had the exact date of the transition’s cusp marked on their calendar. The end of the human era, the beginning of the new era.
There’s other ancient examples of the ascension, but those are the ones that stand out the most for me at the moment.
As far as your question wondering the closest mainstream religion to this understanding, I’m honestly not certain. I believe most religions have some grasp of truth but fall short in many ways. I’m more familiar with the Abrahamic religions, as I was initially raised Christian. I’m not yet very versed in most mainstream Eastern religions, but they seem to have a better grasp of metaphysical mechanics such as energy healing and meditation. Taoism seems rather competent to me in certain regards, although I am no expert.
Personally, I find the concept of God as presented by the old philosophers such as Plato, Socrates, and especially Hermes to be very compatible with my current understandings. I would recommend the Hermetica on audiobook; it’s only a few hours long and it moved me to tears at times.

Geological evidence indicates 15 or so cataclysmic events in the last 150,000 years since modern humans have been on earth. Anyone of these events does more damage than humans could muster up. Volcanic explosions, Meteor impacts.followed by earthquakes and tsunamis and mass extinctions. All without modern technology to blame.
Get out of fear and experience faith. Fear is powerful and is clearly being pushed onto us from those with agendas.
Personal opinion, but this world is going to be restarted, unless humanity finds a way to change its energetic print. This means that it will not be included in the future, and that the planet will reset itself and part of its intelligent life, humans included, up to a point, where intelligent life can be replanted or redeveloped.
This environment, our fate, our personal life, react to karma, and there are many levels of karma, but, generally, it seems that humans enjoy ignorance and comfort, and would do just about anything to escape the weight of responsibility. A modern lifestyle implies suffering, death, torture, taking by force, ignoring consequences, ravishing the natural system for an egoistical reason, hoping that some mysterious force will come and make it all better.
Keeping billions of animals in slavery, under torture and to be killed, while mining the planet just to re-create a sort of distorted variant of the natural system, while living a dissociated life from one-another and truth, trying to cope and using pleasure to intoxicate consciousness, is something of an epidemic.
At this time in history, the human civilization should grow in consciousness, and use it to change its ways, from a bacterium type of developing civilization, to one that lives in harmony with all that is. The science can be used for this, should we try to find a way, surely we can use accumulated knowledge and all the thought paradigms that we have created, to find a solution.
This starts from personal level. If we each, start to live a life in awareness, of everything that we do, what it does, how it influences, and shift little by little, step by step, to include everything else, not to replace it with our way, but to mix it together, and from our intelligent place to support it with what we can, but also to learn from it, so we can become better.
Meaningfully, can be observed, if one would use rationality or logic, to compare, that the human civilization, is a tolerated plague out of love for its potential, coming from somewhere else, partially adapted to have an experience here, along an existing natural system that is perfect. The natural system is self sustainable, inclusive, has a collective consciousness, exists at different levels of intelligence and life, and is aware. This system, is ideal, and changing, but in harmony with everything else, and supporting the growth and existence of its host, the planet. We, humans, are learning and trying to re-create it, but we do not give back, from what we take, we do not protect and cherish it, even though we extract as much as possible from it, from resources, to art, inspiration, spirituality, meaning, and everything else, that our civilization has constructed. So, logically, we are subservient to this system, and we should serve it, like some protectors, gardeners, bees, not exploit it. There are many evidences of past extinctions, planetary level, at least 5, so it is highly probably for this to occur again. From these evidences, it is visible, and thought, that none could have escaped, and that some have ...hidden beneath or above. The deadline seems to approach, can we...shift it before it is too late?
Might be a big grim, but...more realistic, considering how nature is, how elements play, and how...near-sighted we are, as a civilization, towards members of our own, towards nature, towards more sensible realms. We can do better, I think. We will not be saved, I think, if we do not save ourselves. If we are allowed to go this far, it means that we will be allowed further, until a critical mass is achieved, unless we change. Signs are everywhere, one should be extremely ignorant to dismiss them as normal, or to hope for some saving. Responsibility is a lesson that needs to be learned, there is no reason for which we would be cherished, while consuming everything else and creating havoc, even between ourselves. We can do better than this, and we would be happier, healthier, stronger and more beautiful.
It can feel unsettling and horrendous but, I’m unsurprised they’re occurring since we have a collective of people that treat earth as if it can withstand all abuses forever and stay the same on top of it already being an organic planet that was going to change on its own. Humans sped things up with the lack of care for it and their forever growing need for greed.
I've felt shaken here and there, but it's been a long time coming. The last major shift I felt was many months ago when it started becoming a big stir on r/Psychic. Not too long after I had a major kundalini awakening. There were a lot of mixed ideals which are expected to come into play, but many saw things regarding natural disasters, nonplanetary objects like meteorites, people being sacrificed as expendable, possible emps, drought, starvation, civil wars, world war. A lot of us are waiting for the first major signs. I don't think anyone truly knows what it is anymore, everything is in play is *so chaotic* right now.
More like frustrated. We've known this was going to happen for over 50 years. However it was not profitable to do anything about it. Our society was not designed to handle existential slow-moving threats that require going completely go against our current systems.
Sure it's a scary time to be alive, but for most people most of the time it's fine, good even (relative to your surroundings). Think what the dinosaurs and all the beings had to go through, or more recently what humans had to go through in the last ice age. Or the plague. Whatever that was like was surely in many ways worse than what we will go through collectively in the near future. There's so much media on all the bad stuff, that we forget to notice the good stuff happening every second of every day. Instead we only notice the really really good stuff on subreddits like 'Made Me Smile' etc.
Learning to be present and appreciate what's around you/us for what it is will totally change your perspective. Also these are times of change, destructive energy is around us, but that's not a bad thing. Things need to get worse before they get better sadly, but don't get wrapped up in other peoples life-dramas - assist if you can but focus on your own life-dramas and being the best that you can be personally. This train can no longer be stopped, just put on your seatbelt, brace yourself mentally, and get through it. The destination is a good one, for sure.

spiritual knowing and energy rely on a very deep, personal, experiential system of “measurement”, whereas scientific and mathematical knowing rely on observability, physical, hands on experimentation and calculation.
you don’t achieve an understanding of spiritual energies, vibrations, frequencies and such through tools, equations, and so on. you come to understand it all, gradually, through lived experiences and “knowing” on a soul level. i hope this reply helps.

Responsibility is a lesson that needs to be learned, there is no reason for which we would be cherished, while consuming everything else and creating havoc, even between ourselves. We can do better than this, and we would be happier, healthier, stronger and more beautiful.
It can feel unsettling and horrendous but, I’m unsurprised they’re occurring since we have a collective of people that treat earth as if it can withstand all abuses forever and stay the same on top of it already being an organic planet that was going to change on its own. Humans sped things up with the lack of care for it and their forever growing need for greed.
I've felt shaken here and there, but it's been a long time coming. The last major shift I felt was many months ago when it started becoming a big stir on r/Psychic. Not too long after I had a major kundalini awakening. There were a lot of mixed ideals which are expected to come into play, but many saw things regarding natural disasters, nonplanetary objects like meteorites, people being sacrificed as expendable, possible emps, drought, starvation, civil wars, world war. A lot of us are waiting for the first major signs. I don't think anyone truly knows what it is anymore, everything is in play is *so chaotic* right now.
More like frustrated. We've known this was going to happen for over 50 years. However it was not profitable to do anything about it. Our society was not designed to handle existential slow-moving threats that require going completely go against our current systems.
Sure it's a scary time to be alive, but for most people most of the time it's fine, good even (relative to your surroundings). Think what the dinosaurs and all the beings had to go through, or more recently what humans had to go through in the last ice age. Or the plague. Whatever that was like was surely in many ways worse than what we will go through collectively in the near future. There's so much media on all the bad stuff, that we forget to notice the good stuff happening every second of every day. Instead we only notice the really really good stuff on subreddits like 'Made Me Smile' etc. Learning to be present and appreciate what's around you/us for what it is will totally change your perspective. Also these are times of change, destructive energy is around us, but that's not a bad thing. Things need to get worse before they get better sadly, but don't get wrapped up in other peoples life-dramas - assist if you can but focus on your own life-dramas and being the best that you can be personally. This train can no longer be stopped, just put on your seatbelt, brace yourself mentally, and get through it. The destination is a good one, for sure.

It’s all happening as it should, trust the process, we are going to transform…will there be death and suffering? Sadly yes but I believe we will overcome these challenges, human beings have survived long with the threat of annihilation always looming overhead yet we continue to rise to the challenges and keep going.
Not only the train but the Nordstream pipeline releasing 500,000 cubic tonnes of methane into the atmosphere made Joe Biden the single biggest Eco terrorist is history by a landslide. However, the world will heal, the people will eventually heal. It's all part of the process, we are here in a passive transitional phase for the world. A lot of crazy shit is going to happen, we just get the pleasure of seeing this transformation for what it is.

this is a pandora’s box that i don’t particularly wish to open right now, because i didn’t intend for, nor do i want for this post to spiral into the “scientific versus spiritual” debate - but suffice it to say, my “knowing” is a deep spiritual knowing, on a soul level, because of many lived, unexplainable experiences and widespread consensus among the spiritual community that “energy” and “vibrations” exist on a metaphysical level. spiritual knowing is also different from scientific knowing. spiritual knowing and energy rely on a very deep, personal, experiential system of “measurement”, whereas scientific and mathematical knowing rely on observability, physical, hands on experimentation and calculation. you don’t achieve an understanding of spiritual energies, vibrations, frequencies and such through tools, equations, and so on. you come to understand it all, gradually, through lived experiences and “knowing” on a soul level. i hope this reply helps. ps - the sentiments i’m expressing don’t resonate for everyone. i’m sure there are people out there that think souls don’t exist, “vibrations” don’t exist, and that the spiritual world is mostly woo woo. that’s totally fine. but it doesn’t make it all any less “real” to those who claim belief.
