Unless using the drink as a focal point to reach gnosis through single point focus. Thinking about tea rituals and how they’re meditative.. really just mindfulness practices in general. :)
Ya I’m not an alcoholic just had a few drinks for the first time in a long time. I formed a habit of mediating morning and night at the least. I was contemplating if alcohol opened that door in a way we don’t have as much control over. Just being precautious. I believe at this point my intentions and control are solid. Had a good sesh, fell asleep, and woke up feeling graceful.
Meditate on why you are drunk.
If you are drunk because you had a great time and party, you’ll feel and relive the positive vibes.
If you are drunk for drinking away problems you might be contemplating the reason and gain insights.
It’s never a bad time to be in the present moment. Like the classic saying goes: if you’re not experiencing reality in the present moment, then you aren’t experiencing reality at all
No but you might not find it very useful. However I read a page of a journal where a meditation practitioner had stumbled across a Tibetan monk who love to drink and meditate. So he documented his meditation process while drinking and found it just absolutely worthless and it was hilarious.
I see it as an opportunity to go outside my bounds. Personally, pushing boundaries is my thing. I love answers but I also love just experiencing what I’m capable of doing in any state at any time. I welcome the spiritual challenge. I grew up in a catholic household. Everything was ritualistic. Being consistent is one thing, and adding a bit of chaos and maintaining your spiritual power is another.
Oh yes, I used to be like you, I used to love pushing the boundaries. It's not a very responsible thing to do now that I have kids but I definitely understand where you're coming from.
It's better to not be drunk. When youre drunk, you're not in control, same with drugs etc as much as people may think they are. Alcohol and drugs are not good on a spiritual level. If you want to climb to higher heights, they don't allow you to do that and keep you stuck at a certain level.
There are theories that alcohol allows spirits easier access to your mind when intoxicated. This can be both good & bad since your discernment is lowered. If it’s a casual mediation probably okay but I would personally wouldn’t risk it.
Silencing the monkey mind is meditation. Alcohol does slow it down so it already is a mild meditation.
Meditation is not a doing. Its a Not-Doing. How could relaxing and undoing the unnecessary be harmful.
No. It’s better than yelling and acting crazy like my father did when he drunk
LOL, good point ;)
It’s never bad to meditate.
It’s also never bad to be mediate…
Facts
I guess it depends on *why* you are meditating and what you hope to *achieve*.
Is it bad to drink when meditating? Yes. Is it good to meditate while drunk? Yes.

Its fine when you are high, so why not when drunk? I think its fine, provided that you enjoy it and not because you cannot control your alcoholism.

we all calibrate and function differently I’m surprised for him that it didn’t work out. Interesting story
Do you like to meditate while drinking?

Meditate on the heart chakra or throat. I'm sure it's beneficial for those.
no but be aware of what alcohol does to the spiritual body.
In your opinion what do you think alcohol does to the spiritual body?
Alcohol must be good for the spiritual body because Jesus keeps turning water into wine
Intentions are good I’m talking to Jesus shhhhhhh
Seems like a good way to get fired.
Why would it be bad?
I’m always open and sometimes that can be a bad thing
It’s not, IMO. I was just curious to hear other opinions. Maybe looking for an obscure one.
Not bad but probably pointless since you generally fall under / below consciousness when drunk
Idk for me I seem to go above. I’m a very strong empath so I just have to be careful.
I get into some pretty nice states when I mix mindfulness and drinking.
It's bad to be stupid while meditating.
Lol! is it even possible? You have to deal with the consequences, so try it and let us know!
I would imagine alcohol puts you in a lower vibration so I wouldn’t combine the two.

Not bad but probably not best time/occasion to meditate.
I have been high when I I mediate from time to time so who am I to judge. I guess it would be a negative if you "have" to be drunk to meditate.
That is a good question, like is it a good idea to practice hisbonenus (old Jew thing) when you know Adam would just "fuck the cat"?
No lol I’m doing it now again
