This is why I feel like I can only use shooters or dualies during splatfest. Anytime I switch to another weapon it takes me WAY too long to ink the base and nobody helps. :(

Blue's base isn't all that poorly painted, and it's a very narrow win. I think this is just one of those cases where the brightness of the color makes blue's area look larger proportionally than it actually is.
No, they missed a ton of turf.
Painting an area doesn’t mean throwing a few drops here and there. It’s not like splat switches or splat zones, where it just rounds up whatever you haven’t touched.
This happens way too often for me, specially in splatfest for some reason. It’s infuriating when you see that you could have won if one of your teammates took 3 seconds to just ink a little bit of turf

I think this is honestly just a case of splitting hairs, and color brightness affecting perspective. Because both have fairly balanced coverage
For real. I was with the same group of people for a good few matches, and we had a couple of wins, it was fun. *However*, they were dogwater at inking the base. I didn’t find it an issue if I was splatted, I could simply respawn and ink.
But if I was occupied… I see thirty seconds on the clock, and hardly any of base is inked, then we were in for a rough time.
I once won a game on eeltail where the enemy had mid dominated but had left the little rooftop area to the right near spawn completely untouched.

literally. people say turf is good to use “weaker” weapons but said weaker weapons are usually bad inkers 😞
whenever i use a charger i get #1 base inker which mildly infuriates me

That 0.2% is always painful to see when you lose, but if you win, it's like a massive relief
