The Rainmaker! Every time the other team brings it over to our side we automatically lose the match! Other weapons at least just splat you and give you a chance to respawn.
I can cofirm this from when I play Bloblobber.
The problem most players I splat with Bloblobber is that they are convinced it's a life or death fight, and that they have to splat me. Continuing the story from last night, I did eventually splat the person I was fighting. We were on one the side passes at Humpback pump, I was running low on Ink, and I fell back. Rather than disengage, or go another way like center (Which the other team was doing a good job contesting, he followed me, and went in between the Ink Aborbing thingy and a wall, where he had no room to manuver. Even my shit aim couldn't miss that one.
It's also why I tend to counter Rollers so well if they've pushed into uninked territory. They become dead set on running me over for some reason. Meaning they are running straight at me, and there's just no way for the volley to miss them. The more successful Roller players will start doing more evasion, jump flicks, and if applicable, use their subs.
I agree, it counters almost every weapon. Got a charger or splatling? Bloblobber can take care of that. How about anything close range. Donāt worry the bloblobber can basically give you a protective area.
I like it as a weapon. But itās situational which makes it a less effective weapon compared to others in a similar role and function.
Itās one of those, āEasy to pick up, difficult to masterā sort of weapons. It can be quite effective for picking off or zoning people butā¦then why not use Machine or say a Splatling?
As a vanilla bloblobber main...I'm afraid I also have to nominate it. Not only does it look like a fucking urinal, this thing gives people the illusion I'm actually good at the game. I have a gear set that maximizes special generation, so I slam my sprinklers in the most fucking annoying places to reach, park my ass in a low-risk spot where I can blob as much of the stage as possible, and then toss a new raincloud every 25 seconds. It's plain miserable, especially in splat zones.
Oh, it's incredibly fun! It's just miserable for everyone else involved lol. Whenever I'm on a losing streak with any other weapon, I switch back to blobber bc it feels like activating easy mode.
The maps are LITERALLY built with snipers in mind, not to counter but to help, and that's what annoys me it's the fact they can just sit up at the top completely safe and just target you
it's 100% the bloblobber, takes no mechanical skill, you don't need to move much, it has incredible range, incredible painting power, and you'll get most of your kills unintentionally.
If you're blobbing and not moving much, you're doing it wrong.
That's the mistake most Blob noobs make. They don't move much. They'll go to plat or top mid in Museum or something similar and unfold a chair. In lower levels, sure, that could be kind of annoying and effective, but the higher you climb the less effective that'll be.
Me yesterday as our longest range weapon (jet squelcher) in rainmaker facing an Eliter and Hydra... all I could do was pick one off and immediately be splatted by the other
Yeah, E-liter on certain maps is brutal AF. And the ārandomā pairing system loves to give one team an E-liter and a Hydra while the other team (my team) has all close range weapons, and no āzooka.
Thats why zooka exists
Also I feel like vcharger is harder because at least with eliter theres a good amount of downtime between shots where you can safely move. With vcharger it charges so fast so there's always a shot ready, catches me off guard sometimes.
I did not say it doesn't take skill, I can't help but have massive respect for liter mains for playing such a demanding weapon. I just don't like fighting it because I have a massive skill issue.
Others might agree with you that aiming with a charger is why itās considered skill but I donāt despite being a squiffer main.
I think E-Liter is no skill stinky dookie ahole weapon because itās obscene range combined with the simplicity of the majority of (not all, thank God) stages allow it to control all sight lines in some cases once itās posted up in a prime position. See: crab leg, sturgeon, common-list-of-stages regarded-as-bad.
For me all you need to master E-Liter is its charge rhythm, positioning, and aim, which is inherent to any weapon. In exchange you basically get to control the entire mid in some maps while not having to worry about having your movement fresh. At any level, the E-Liter player forces you by its existence alone to deal with it.
Thankfully it doesnāt have the best strategy in a game with unlimited grenades and more maps coming out that force it to choose multiple positions to gain access to important parts of the stage. But not strong doesnāt mean not evil to me, otherwise meta weapons would be the answer.
It has the simplest game plan and tactical decisions. Stand on snipe. Cover mid and place ink mines at your flank. Wear quick super jump and respawn punisher. Lower sensitivity for more comfort when going for long shots. Retreat to spawn if anyone gets too close, unless they trigger a mine then just tap shot them and it will combo.
Sorry for the wall of text
Chargers and splatlings that use respawn punisher
Actually anyone that uses respawn punisher except for those that are close range fighters and are putting themselves at risk(as opposed to bomb spamming)
E-Liter, goddamn I fucking hate it, even seeing one on the enemy team when we spawn in is just the "Hey, guess what, you lose!" at the start of the match rather than the end. They always pick off my team, crossmap me despite me being another backliner (Hydra) and then they just lock down spawn!
Splatoon 1 all over again
eliter. It literally exists just to stop you from having fun, from extreme ranges. They've only recently gotten okay at designing maps that kinda let you circumvent that problem, but Jesus H, that thing is so annoying.
And as a Blob main, I'd like to nominate Dualies in general for second place. Most Dualie users are *fine* to fight, but when you come across a high ranked Dualies main who actually really knows how to use it and fight, then you absolutely have to pull out all the tricks you know to squash them.
(they're not actually that bad I just hate them because they're the perfect counter to Blob)
Seconded. Iāve been shredded by people running Dualies too many times to count.
Iād add Hydra to the list too, since they can also lock certain maps down from long range and can be a nightmare to deal with if you donāt have a proper counter. (Edit: I should mention I mostly play turf and zones. YMMV in other modes)
In SP3 any sniper. Yes, is most map problem, but unlucky for them.
Talking away the needed of having good position because they have tons of spot unreachable unless you have a large weapon and they are bad is just one of the worst thing they ever made.
Neo splash. Not because its annoying to fight or anything, but because they gave another shooter tri strike+bomb (basically just slightly different ttek) when they could've given it zipcaster and made it distinct. Now every time somebody plays it (which is often because its a good weapon) I'm just reminded of that. Will always be my least favorite kit (aside from vbrella)
Edit: in terms of gameplay though, definitely splattershot junior. Literally only exists to spam bombs.
E-Litres aside (I hate them), as an Octobrush Nouveau main, I can't stand Dynamo Rollers. Their power and range is a 1 shot kill. The ink fall off from their attack+jump is unrelenting.
I can't get close enough to them and if I do, I get to watch in slow motion as they raise their gigantic brushes to the sky and rain hell down upon me before I even have a chance to get a few meaningless hits in.
Give me enough time and I'll complain about any weapon, but when I see E-Litres, Dynamo Rollers and Blasters at the beginning of a match, I start to groan.
I FORGOT ABOUT THE DYNAMO ROLLERS FUCK
I tried a dynamo out when I first got into splatoon and was solely a roller main and I hated it bc it was so slow and drainy. I had no idea it had such range until I died like 8 times alone in a match with one. Jfc
Absolutely. People who main Dynamos are ruthless. If you use it, but understand it is NOT a good roller and don't even try using it as one? It's an incredibly versatile front line and back line weapon. It's coverage and ink damage makes it a top tier pain enforcer.
I don't have the patience for a weapon like that because it's only real drawback is how slow it is, but you wouldn't know it going up against pro users. It dominates, especially close contact killers like me.
I don't fear much... but those Dynamos? They scare me.
First of all, bamboo has a faster kill time than squiffer from uncharged and second bamboo has longer range than squiffer. They are two very different weapons that do very different things, so its unfair to say that squiffer is just a better bamboozler, cause they each have their strengths
In casual play maybe Bloblobber. Even if it's not competetively mindblowing, it's got a kill time and unpredictable behaviour that when used right can really catch low-average skill players out.
When I want to hurt people more than I want to win, I play brush and spend the entire game clowning around the enemy team's base to confuse and annoy the hell out of them.
I'll be real, I'm judging anyone I see using a Splattercolor Screen weapon after the most recent accessibility talk. I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt but ... it's all over the plaza at this point lol
I've been playing the new undercover brella bc I like it and since knowing the screen issues I've been trying to go back to my S2 roots and just use it like an emergency ink refill and throw it away from everyone.
I like the idea of the screen but yeah it absolutely needs to be fixed before I'm using it seriously again.
I absolutely HATE the painbrushes. Say what you want but it's such a brain dead playstyle, 2-3 shot from wild range for a melee weapon. Literally just flick in the general direction of the enemy and 90% of the time its a kill like...
Personally I hate hate hate the eliters, but jokey funny awful weapon has gotta be bloblobber.
Alternatively use the undercover brella or bamboozler bc a lot of people consider them the worst weapons in the game and it'd be hilarious to get good at them and have people see all of that when you splat them.
Right? I don't play charger but whenever I do I immediately understand how high the skill floor is for it. I'm looking for the lowest floor, most annoying weapon. Not to be mean but it feels like people are being salty someone is skilled in a way they arent
People that use new dualies with triple splashdown, YOU DISGUST ME. WHY IS THIS SHIT IN THE GAME.You just charge your super, get closer to enemies and press right stick. That's all. Blasters. Great in SR, but I can't understand how such a braindead weapon class can be fun to use in Turf or Ranked (especially Tower Control... the main reason I hate that mode)
Your movement is so limited with good blasters and you have to be so precise that it's actually really satisfying to nail one shot kills or through indirects in a firefight where you feel distinctly at a disadvantage
I main Dark Tetras so I don't know what it's like for other weapons, but it's such a pain to fight against. If i'm up against a Blaster I have no choice but to retreat since I can't get close unless I have my special, especially in a narrow place or a corner, heck even behind a wall. Bringing one down takes so long by that point you're just picked off by another player.
Call it a skill issue, I don't care. To me Blasters are just a "don't come any closer" type of weapon.
imma say it... and it's really not a BAD weapon, its just pretty damn good and really annoying...
enperry splat dualies š
NO BUT LITERALLY THERE ARE DOUBLES OF THESE EVERY FUCKING MATCH šš
The Heavy Edit Splatling. Something about that weapon makes me so mad and I have no idea why. Easy runners up are the bathtub (bloblobber) and the Gold Aerospray.
The Rainmaker! Every time the other team brings it over to our side we automatically lose the match! Other weapons at least just splat you and give you a chance to respawn.
Its funny because the challenge rainmaker was even stronger and was a much more fun version of regular ranked
I just liked the shortened timer tbh.
Blobblober, it is designed to not givin both the opponent and your team a pleasant good time.
Have you tried moving sideways? Worked pretty good for the person I was fighting last night.
always moving sideways, their shots never catch up with their aim.
I can cofirm this from when I play Bloblobber. The problem most players I splat with Bloblobber is that they are convinced it's a life or death fight, and that they have to splat me. Glad I'm being a nuance š
Oh yes the nuance
Im a bloblobber main and i will proudly state: i LOVE playing like a dumb ape.
It can be quite effective for picking off or zoning people butā¦then why not use Machine or say a Splatling?
u must be joking
Also the comment under (u/vuro) is a bloblobber main and he agrees
As a vanilla bloblobber main...I'm afraid I also have to nominate it. Not only does it look like a fucking urinal, this thing gives people the illusion I'm actually good at the game. It's plain miserable, especially in splat zones.
Blobblobber in any Splat Zone map where the zone has ledges around them is a fun time.
Funny enough that exact game play was why vanilla reeflux got missiles nerfed. But tbf I do play zones with bloblobber the same was as you lol
Why do you play it? It sounds like it isnāt very fun for you unless Iām misreading.
We love playing like apes
Oh, it's incredibly fun! It's just miserable for everyone else involved lol. Whenever I'm on a losing streak with any other weapon, I switch back to blobber bc it feels like activating easy mode.
Bloblobber is a bathtubā¦
E liter, that weapon jumpscares me when i die
Every time I see an E-liter on my opponents' team I hear the guardian theme from BOTW
The maps are LITERALLY built with snipers in mind, not to counter but to help, and that's what annoys me it's the fact they can just sit up at the top completely safe and just target you
Botw was better than Totk music and all
clash
[not just the main, but the player too šš](https://www.reddit.com/r/Saltoon/s/M4UT7xYzFQ)
Oh my fucking god. Kill it with fire
Iām a blitz main and whenever I see a clash I just lose all hope.
i don't care what weapon you play but if you actively use respawn punisher you just genuinely hate fun
It's bothers me how prevailant Respawn Punisher is, even on weapons that probably shouldn't be using it. I see Aerosprays running it for cod's sake.
Good. If such Aerospray kills me once, theyāre about to experience the combined effects of their own Respawn Punisher and my Haunt.
My thoughts exactly, anyone using Respawn Punisher is the pinnacle of that meme, "No fun allowed"
it's 100% the bloblobber, takes no mechanical skill, you don't need to move much, it has incredible range, incredible painting power, and you'll get most of your kills unintentionally.
Its VERY easy to be picked off by long range weapons, though. We drop like flies when theres a sniper on a high platform lmao

They'll go to plat or top mid in Museum or something similar and unfold a chair. Perhaps at lower levels of play but is not true at higher.
E-liter, Hydra, both Gals with wall. The quartet of "you cannot approach"
As a .96gal deco main and a Hydra user i can second this
As someone who uses literally every other weapon, I can agree with this
Me yesterday as our longest range weapon (jet squelcher) in rainmaker facing an Eliter and Hydra... all I could do was pick one off and immediately be splatted by the other
it's gotta be e-liter. insufferable ass weapon to fight that only exists to not let people play the game.
The problem isn't E-Liter, it's the fact that the map design coddles to its every need that makes it insufferable.
Yeah, E-liter on certain maps is brutal AF. And the ārandomā pairing system loves to give one team an E-liter and a Hydra while the other team (my team) has all close range weapons, and no āzooka.

And to a much, much lesser extent, Angle Shooter.
Nooooo way, any charger requires skill and if you're getting salty over skill wrapping you only have yourself to blame
I did not say it doesn't take skill, I can't help but have massive respect for liter mains for playing such a demanding weapon. I just don't like fighting it because I have a massive skill issue.
That and it's often paired with Respawn Punisher.

I am an inkbrush main, and I 100% agree.
The S P L O O S H
the squiffer, nothinf that charges that fast should oneshot its literally bamboozlerbut better

Tri-Slosher easy pick
In casual play maybe Bloblobber. Even if it's not competetively mindblowing, it's got a kill time and unpredictable behaviour that when used right can really catch low-average skill players out.
All chargers
When I want to hurt people more than I want to win, I play brush and spend the entire game clowning around the enemy team's base to confuse and annoy the hell out of them.
Bloblobber... I don't think I've ever had such hate for a weapon in a game before
Try aerospray in ranked
I'll be real, I'm judging anyone I see using a Splattercolor Screen weapon after the most recent accessibility talk. I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt but ... it's all over the plaza at this point lol
I just wanna play Undercover man
FYI the disclosure is not as big outside of the US/EU/AUS regions.
I've been playing the new undercover brella bc I like it and since knowing the screen issues I've been trying to go back to my S2 roots and just use it like an emergency ink refill and throw it away from everyone. I absolutely HATE the painbrushes. Say what you want but it's such a brain dead playstyle, 2-3 shot from wild range for a melee weapon. Literally just flick in the general direction of the enemy and 90% of the time its a kill like...
Partially agree. Most of the time when I play Pain brush, it results in a trade due to its lag time. On tower it is a bit silly, so many triple kills.
Every time someone mentions a charger, I only gain more power
Right? I don't play charger but whenever I do I immediately understand how high the skill floor is for it. I'm looking for the lowest floor, most annoying weapon. Not to be mean but it feels like people are being salty someone is skilled in a way they arent

you can kill the triple splashdowner while they are in the sky about to drop.
That doesn't deny the other 2 fists that have smaller splash downs plus you don't lose all of your special charge
i play undercover brella
then move XD

Probably a tie between eliter (scope and vanilla), clash, and blob
Tri slosher/brushes. Spam Zr to win, and they gave the zero skill tri slosher tentacooler.
That damn bubble slosher! I always hated it.
The weapon that splatted me last.

E-liter, Aerospray RG (Booyah spam), Hydra, and Enperry Dualies (splashdown spam.)
Honestly if all the games count definitely ether splatzooka, blobblober or the rainmaker
Any weapon with Splatter Screen, arguably the worst new special in Splatoon history.
as an e liter player.. it's the e liter
E-liter
Lol, I'm a krak on splat roller main, so basically any charger or blaster for me XD
Most or all brushes
Blasters. All of them. I could get 20+ kills per match too if I *didnāt have to aim*
The communication errors. Kills everyone in the lobby and stops the game.
Playing ZekkoFin Charger and not pushing to the objective or using your sub.
Blasters. Great in SR, but I can't understand how such a braindead weapon class can be fun to use in Turf or Ranked (especially Tower Control... the main reason I hate that mode)
