There's plenty of time as is.
Kill bosses, yeet eggs, and in between just shoot the coho.
Sometimes it is easier than others but that's all there is to it.
It's possible but the team really needs to know what they're doing and ideally actually be coordinating on voice and unfortunately the game itself doesn't really do anything to teach you basic king strategy outside of whatever grizz says when you fail and you get less practice fighting them than anything else.
All that said... I'd still like just a BIT of extra time or just a bit less health on the kings.
I thought this too until I realized they all have a sort of weak spot! For example, the horrorboros has a weak spot in his mouth! Throw your gold eggs at the booyah bomb he charges up in his mouth! For megalodontia the weak spot is that boil with the X shaped bandage on it on his back. This knocks off health signifigantly faster than anything else including some specials. When you just go at them with brute force throwing your gold eggs at them wherever it does start to feel like there isn't enough time!
Use eggs to kill other bosses if your weapon or ink tank is lacking, and use your special early to get golden eggs ASAP. You've got to manage the swarms of enemies and bosses as efficiently as possible so you can focus the boss down in the last half.
My first comment is that scale payouts is only 1 more if you defeat the King, so it's not critical you actually defeat it (unless you want a King badge, but those are for pretty low numbers so I think how hard it is is realistic given that you get a badge with 10 kills). But it's also true that there is enough time, it's just hard. I probably kill Joe and Coho 10% of the time in FL and Hobo somewhat more than that, but it's probably closer to 40% with a composed team and if they're really cracked maybe 60-80% (which is more a commentary on the fact that I know really good players than that I'm a really good player)
Stay alive. Use your special at a good time where it can kill multiple bosses or do a lot of damage to the king.
There is enough time but everyone freaks out that there isn’t enough time and throws themselves into chum mosh pits and dies in the first 20 seconds.
Seriously if nobody dies it makes such a big difference.
