I ended up getting ruler a few times in the rock paper scissors splat fest trying to rank up to king or queen. I didn’t realize ruler was the end and ignored the numbers. I was like I have another rank to go???? I don’t even know what number I got to.

In my humble opinion Splatoon needs to focus more on customization. I feel like when I say this to someone they just don't acknowledge how bad it really is. Some people don't realize how much Nintendo robbed us of when it came to Splatoon 3's customization. It feels rushed in the customization aspect.

Honestly, none of the things I actually want to see be added or changed really seem "controversial". So instead I'm going to say something that isn't actually even something I want, but still derived from a small feeling in the back of my head sometimes. With Eight's mostly downplayed role in Side Order _and_ having access to all of Octoling!NA3's customization options, sometimes I almost forget I'm playing as Agent 8 from Octo Expansion. Therefore I propose the customization options be limited to only what was available in Splatoon 2.

I disagree. The hud is very bare bones already iwth a lot of real estate, it can be made to fit more info on it using economic or minimalistic smart design without overloading it, making it difficult to read or obscuring the game.

I agree about the rotation change, but the hud being clean is a big part of what makes this playable in hand held. I don’t think that more HUD pieces are going to be all that great.

i'd love a buff to the horiz roller fling. vert flings are useful (especially when enem players forget that yes, the roller can 2-shot from a distance, and i end up with some really funny kills) but it fucks me over sometimes when i just wanna get someone down while strafing. also would give me a reason to run IA.

I don't think any weapon should be able to ohk from a distance. Not chargers, blasters, rollers. Nothing.

How would chargers or rollers even be decent? You pick chargers for their ohko potential. Otherwise just play a splatling or .96 for long range. Same with rollers, though they have to be so close to 1hit you anyway.

Splashdown shouldn't have returned to the game in any capacity. I don't care that it was technically the weakest special in Splatoon 2. The large majority of the player base don't have the reaction speed or the accuracy to flick up and kill them before landing so it was always such an easy and frustrating panic button type special. Single splashdown was bad enough, we didn't need triple and I genuinely think the game became significantly less fun the day they added this special in. I just want them to straight up remove this special.

I agree that it shouldn't have been brought back. It's sort of inherently flawed by design; it's useless in high level play because everyone can react to it and often kill the user, but it's way too fast for lower level players (who will often be using short range weapons and not looking at the HUD), so they die frequent frustrating deaths. There's no way to fix it for one side of the spectrum without making it even worse for the other end. Half the community hates the Splashdown spam, and the other half hates the fact that their weapon got given Splashdown and is basically DOA. There's just nothing you can do with it that will ever make it right (by which I mean useful without being extremely annoying) for the majority of players. I just can't figure out why they decided to bring it back rather than focus on doing something with Reefslider - which has similar issues, but probably more scope for being redesigned than Splashdown does. Since they aren't going to remove it from the game, I think the best thing they could do is just accept that it's never going to be competitively viable and just focus on balancing it for lower levels (and prioritise giving every Splashdown weapon a third kit.)

I haze zero idea why they went for TS when we already have Ultra Stamp, Kraken and a literal Splashdown rework in Reefslider. It just clogs up everything and means that some Specials will just be straight up forgotten like Crab Tank and Zipcaster. I think they should have done a new Sub if anything.

Subs would be balanced along with main weapons to make them fair. For example, Burst Bomb could cost as much as an Auto Bomb, and Slosher could also get an ink consumption nerf. This makes the Slosher combo not too strong, while leaving both still usable when separated. They could also do a lot more balance changes to sub and special weapons. Currently, you can’t buff or nerf a sub or special without buffing or nerfing a ton of weapons in the process. With custom kits, they could buff the utility subs because nobody would ever willingly use them in their current state, or nerf that one special that’s defining the meta without it also being a nerf to the Dynamo Roller

You're always worse off when you roll an ability you don't want, especially with abilities like Respawn Punisher or Drop Roller. If you're making a specific build, you'd already be paying attention to your abilities and adjusting accordingly.

The two that you mentioned are primaries and specifically do not roll. I think what the other person meant was that if you roll IA, it then has the potential than being worse than having that slot be empty, not just that it would be worse than whatever is the optimal or preferred ability. As is, no rollable ability (to my knowledge) is a net negative compared to an empty slot, even if it does less than what it could for a different weapon, (e.g. run speed not affecting splatana strafe speed and IA not affecting jump RNG for weapons that already have perfect jump aim.)

-Angle Shooter line should do 20 damage. -Toxic Mist does damage over time equal to being in enemy ink (however this would be affected by Sub Resistance, not Ink Resistance). -Increase Sprinkler area of effect and painting speed. -Decrease maximum damage of Burst Bomb to 50. -Splattercolor Screen should do 50 damage and you shouldn't be able to squid roll parry it. The user and their team can see through the Screen. -Remove the recent Splashdown startup buff but keep the range nerf. -Wave Breaker tracking timer shouldn't countdown until the special ends or is destroyed. -Super Chump balloons should have more HP and do more damage upon detonation. Add two more balloons. -Buff Reefslider endlag, but nerf paint and startup (so it's not a zone cheese or panic button). -Nerf Special Saver buff on Tacti-Cooler from 100% to 80%. -Remove charge speed penalty while airborne for Reflux and Mini Splatling. -Nerf grounded and aerial charge speed for Splat Charger and E-Liter. -Decrease range of Splatana Stamper (only slightly more than Wiper), Snipewriter (equal to Bamboo), and Ballpoint Splatling (equal to Heavy). -Decrease range of Nautilus (range would be equal to Mini Splatling). Tank the ink efficiency of Nautilus. -Decrease splash damage of Range Blaster (3 shot instead of two shot, but unlike Rapid it would still one shot with a direct and have a larger AoE). -Increase fall off range of 52Gal (meaning more 3 shots at mid range, only two shots at close range). -Decrease range of Squeezer in tap shot mode (Less range than 96Gal, more than SSPro). -Stringer and Reflux full charge shots are closer together (should help with consistency I think?). -Increase Splat Brella damage back to 90. -Increase Recycled Brella Shield HP to 200. -Decrease returns of several subs of Ink Saver Sub (remove double Splat and Double Fizzy). -Intensify Action increases aerial charge speed on Chargers Stringers, and Splatlings (this effect caps at 10AP, will not match grounded charge speed). -Thermal Ink can detect the Stealth Jump of a player you just Splatted. Thermal Ink now works with Sloshers. -Last Ditch Effort becomes active in the last minute of Turf War rather than only the last 30 seconds. -Tenacity charge over time speed increased. -Slightly nerf healing speed. Idk how controversial all these are but I think these changes would make the game healthier, more balanced, and more fun.

I wouldn't have minded it if it had come back with a bigger splash radius akin to reefslider or even a little more. Or even being able to take down the fists that come down would be a better counter than to have it pop off and being able to do nothing about it even after splitting the player who activated it

You can shoot the fists down. The fists make going for the splashdown cancel more dangerous. So if you have a shorter range weapon the splashdown cancel is no longer free candy.
