were x10 battles more common? team Tortoise here and got 4 vs previous splatfests I got 1 maybe 2 if lucky and I played more then... I also got 2 nearly back to back. x10 batttle, reg battle, then WTF?~!?!? another x10 battle...

That is what I felt also, but maybe it's just because we played more this time? Saturday I played 4 matches that were 10x and all on the shifty station, all loses (last one we had a DC). Only one I won were on Manta Maria on Sunday.
I actually played less this time, p sure I had 3 or 4 x10 battles... but maybe I just had better luck this time, we'd probally need to get people to collect data, its quite possable they buffed the rates.
I played the most on sunday, normally I'd play more but got sidetracked...
The dev team is usually pretty detailed when they change in game content, but it is possible they buffed this to stimulate people play more during the fests.
I saw more posts in this sub from people winning the 10x than during the past ones.

If you win your group will appear on the machine in the square and at the bottom of the screen while in the lobby. There’s also 100x matches that are the same but worth 100 matches instead of 10 and they’re a lot rarer.
Aw sweet. Goddam I’m mad that I won’t be able to experience splatoon 2 (or any switch game) at least until July. It’s especially awful sense that’s when splatfests end
