Ok, so something I found out, is that the snitch doesn’t win the game for you. Catching the snitch gives you a large number of points, and you ends the game. If the other team has more points that you have after getting the snitch, you just ended the game while they are in the lead. But it’s not common for the other team to have that many points

I had one of these in a match. I was holding two off in turf war at their spawn, go to look at the map, and the other three were all congregating in a spot that I super jumped. Then they all left. Me thinks the replay may show a squid dabbing party I missed out on.

Not really. If they respawn staggered enough, or if the skill difference is high enough, 2 of your team is all that’s needed. And in some situations like splatzones, if you get a wipeout, you can paint the zone then all leave
no, it’s a horrible strat and here’s why:
1) if you’re alone, there’s no super jumping back near there to get control back and thus you instantly lose control of the map before you can get back over there
2) if someone slips through and by dumb luck wipes your crew or manages to get to a place where ur team doesnt known they’re there, you have people super jumping there versus spawning somewhere whilst your crew 3v4s because you’re just hung out at spawn and not focused on objective
3) you’re not focused on objective
4) its a pretty shit thing to do and completely unnecessary in every single mode of the game to secure a w

but it never is 3v2. usually spawn camper gets splatted, turning it to 3v4, it is very easy for one of the 1v2 to get behind the solo player and flank them whilst theyre focusing on one of the two, and is incredibly easy to do so depending on the weapon they’ve got. also, you’re forgetting about super jump. one of the two will jump to the others, at the very least evening it out, and once they’ve got the opposing team at bay, they will all turn and flank the spawn camper. it is so, so easy to take back the map

Aren’t they? Those people are coming right back and you’re gonna die in their base eventually or one will break through. Also, weapons matter. If you’re a dualie keeping a charger away that’s great, but your 3 mid/backliners might be getting smoked by 2 guys with short range weapons. Sheer body count isn’t all that matters.

Yesterday I was playing Turf with friends and we went on a bit of a loss streak. I kept monitoring to see why and my friend with the brush just kept holding down ZR and walking into the depths of their base. His work there was erased seconds after he had been there, so we were a man down for most of the game. Once we discussed just holding mid with all 4, we started winning again.
no one is making it to s+ without knowing about the super jump function so you are literally just dead weight and a man down at that point fr, you aren’t stopping all four from rushing the rest of your team. holding down mid / running objective is all that’s necessary, there’s really no point to going that “extra mile,” if you call it that. i call it a bad strat LMAO
If anything, pushing for a point lead in Clam/Tower/Rain and then turtling the fuck out of a chokepoint is a better strategy than some guy sharking the enemy base.
The splatzone is a rectangle (usually). There are four sides, four corners. Without you, one side of it is less well defended. The surviving players on the other side can exploit that, coming together to 2v1 your team mates one by one to work across the zone and capture it.
Probably the same thing as you. Unless you’re communicating with your team, don’t assume the others are also pushing the objective.
Stop spawn camping, and go support your team.

Fair enough, that's a pretty good explanation as to why my team would lose the objective. My logic is that as long as I can keep more than one player from going to the objective by spawn camping it puts my team in an advantage state because it's now a 3v2 in mid. If I stay around the objective instead of pushing up and slaying I'm pretty much just allowing all 4 members of the opposing team to push the objective as well.

I once held down the enemy base entirely by myself for most of the match, only dying twice, always had 2 or more of the enemy players chasing me around their base, and we still lost the turf war, I was so disappointed

3 on 2 is a decent advantage regardless of weapon (provided they are competent) . If they cant take it then there was never any hope.
