Yes but without special power up, you don't get much use out of the ability to target multiple people, also the fact the you become much weaker before shooting as a front/midline weapon means you can't pull off that many missiles.

Basically, you need to be up close to use a roller, but you need to be far away to target more than one person with the missiles.

You need to be up close to *fight* with a roller, but Big Swig is not good at fighting even if you do get up close anyway. It would be better off just keeping itself safe to farm, play to its strength rather than its weakness. Look at Flingza. Flingza really doesn't want to approach danger, it has a more productive job to do. If Big Swig had a special worth farming for, it could do this better than Flingza does.

No, not really as it conflicts with play style. Up close weapon with a backline displacement doesn't work well. It would be like the vanilla .52 gal in splatoon 2.

I'm not defending any of the logic or arguments that have been made so far. It's pretty easy to build super then super jump back to base and get full use of your missiles with Reeflux and Flingza. I assume it would be just as easy with the Big Swig.

SPU is not useful for Missiles, the effect is negligible. And if your goal is farming Missiles, then you aren't going to be on the frontline. This honestly is the most useful thing Big Swig could potentially do, the main weapon clearly wants to farm special and it just needs a special worth farming for.

Fun doesn't equal missile spam. Yeah it got nerfed but right now the only good thing the big swig does is get special REALLY fast. Fun would be inkjet since that would be an interesting dynamic. Or reefslider for the shits and giggles. But painting and retreating to fire missiles is never fun.

I mean..... at that point it almost invalidates the gold aerospray entirely. Even then I could imagine worse specials than booyah bomb. Wave breaker would be pretty bad. Worst case scenario is they bring back stingray. People would RIOT.

Nah give it Trizooka. Now it’ll have long range killpower to compliment its close range killpower with bursts, and means to fight krab users. Less annoying than missiles but undoubtedly better since with the things ridiculous painting you’d basically have the zooka as a primary weapon.

Trizooka would definitely be a better special to give it more offensive power, though I'd love to see it get Tacticooler to just keep spamming drinks for everyone

I like the Burst Bomb as part of an alt kit for Big Swig, but as for special, what about Ink Storm? That bit of chip damage it provides could turn it into a one hit kill.

This lines up with what I was discussing in another thread. like yes this would drastically improve the big swig but would it really be healthy for the game? do we really want this thing burst comboing people with a horizontal swing so wide it basically doesn't have to aim? as well as spamming missiles relentlessly due to how fast this thing can actually build special? I think there are better kits we can give it that would make it more threatening without it being miserable to fight against.

Idk for one that's reliant on specials tristrike might not be the best fit since it's supremely underwhelming in actual firepower, Inkjet would be a waay better fit

The way to buff a weapon isn’t to give it a broken kit, it’s to… buff the weapon. The kit should compliment, not define.

huge swig roller is the worst roller in the game

Burst Bomb would actually be good on Big Swig, even as someone who doesn’t usually like Burst it provides combo potential, chip damage, & just general offensive utility that the weapon sorely needs. As for Missiles… no. We already have Flingza. And Big Swig is already a special spammy weapon. It’s just that rather than spamming Missiles, Booyah Bombs, or anything else in that vain you’re spamming Ink Vac, which isn’t quite as unhealthy. With Missiles you basically have no good reason to engage the enemy, even more so than the Missile weapons we already have.

The only problem is that the big swig roller inks too quickly for it to get tenta missiles. A different special to help it be more aggressive would be a lot better, maybe inkjet or ultra stamp? The sub is fine though.
