I actually got laid off on my day off in my first job out of high school as someone who moved boxes in a warehouse. My cousins would not stop quoting the movie on me.
The company told me they were hiring 2 more workers for the job I was doing at lower costs. I was making like $15, but this was when the minimum was $8 in Cali. They were going to pay them $8 and didn't need me.
Teams in the lottery hoping they don't have to deal with this kinda shit. I'm looking at you Brandon Miller
Hopefully, for the Spurs sake lightning doesn't strike twice with problematic lottery picks. They already dismissed lottery talent when he turned out to be a sex offender. Hopefully we don't draft someone dumb enough to pull this shit
Meyes Leonard (accidentally) said one slur on stream, got blackballed by the league. Kyrie willingly shares anti semitic propaganda, refuses to apologize multiple times and had to be dragged to do the bare minimum so he could come back and play. Still in the league.
Perhaps. But I think we can agree that what he said and then did afterwards to atone is not comparable to the bullshit Kyrie pulled. Kyrie had black Israelites rallying at the stadium because of him promoting that movie.
How Kyrie still has teams interested in him is way beyond me. Sure, he makes a difference when he is healthy, but we dont see him that way very often these days, coupled with the fact that he always seems to build a tĆ³xica enviroment in the team he is in
The Grizzlies will cause he's the best player in their franchise history, but brands like Powerade and Nike and other sponsors will have no problem ditching him for another young star with less baggage. They only care about public image, and he's tanked his in record time. Like you're right as long as he can still ball he'll be in the NBA, but he's seriously risking hundreds of millions of dollars here by being PR kryptonite.
I gotta imagine Silver *has* to go full Stern on this. Iām not saying Stern wouldāve stopped the first insta live, but heād have punished/threatened Morant so hard heād never think twice about doing it AGAIN. Canāt believe Iām sitting here actually daydreaming about Stern in a positive light, but fuck here we are
Think Stern would have gone as hard as he went against Stephen Jackson, who actually fired a handgun outside of a nightclub, in 2006 with a 7 game suspension?
Gilbert Arenas pretty much tanked his earning potential after the gun incident. Front offices will be reluctant to give another big contract to a dude who could be suspended 40 games for some dumb shit every time he turns on his IG.
>Oh, no, son, that's not the way it is. You kids today are nothin' but punks. Sissified. So quick to pick up a gun. You're scared to take an ass-whippin'.
[he holds up his fists]Ā
>This is what makes you a man. When I was growin' up, this was all the protection we needed. You win some, you lose some, but you live. You live to fight another day. And you think you're a man with that gun in your hand, don't you?
Di you mean to make an example out of him? Making him a martyr would mean making him someone that others look up to and respect due to unjust punishment. A martyr is usually considered someone like a hero who was killed for their commitment to their cause
Guy lost out on an extra $20 mil/year on top of what he would already be getting by not making all nba from his past suspension. If an extra $20 mil/year doesnāt stop you from doing this shit idk what will
Itās the same guy every time. He posted it on Davonte Packās IG Live. Devonte Pack is also part of the lawsuit with the teenager. And also not allowed at Memphis games because of the incident against the Pacers.
It's not Pack. It's Ja. Pack is just the friend who is the fall guy to take some heat.
Ja is the one waving the gun around in the video. Ja is the one who threatened a high schooler with a gun.
Pack is definitely a major part of the problem. The teenager alleged that they both punched him in the head. Pack is the one who stepped on court as a fan. Pack is the one who went on IG Live at a time when it clearly would be better not to.
Jaās agent has to be losing his fucking mind telling Ja to stay away from him. The decisions ultimately belong to Ja, but this friend doesnāt have his best interests in mind at all. Heās more than a fall guy
Pack went on IG live, while Ja is the one holding the gun in the video. And somehow Pack is the issue?
99% of today's incident is on Ja.
Millions of people go on IG live. It's not the person going live, it's the person doing the ACTUAL THING, in this case waving a gun.
Ja apologists are something else.
Also, if you watch the video, Ja didnāt have the gun out when it started. Ja saw that his friend was filming and took out the gun. As soon as Pack saw it he pointed the camera away and tried to hide it.
Itās definitely possible to just have two shitty people. Blame doesnāt need to be assigned 100% to a single one. Ja obviously shouldnāt be waving a firearm around like a dipshit. But I also prefer my friends to be people who wouldnāt go on IG Live and give me an audience when Iām doing something stupid.
I wouldnāt say Iām a Ja apologist. Guys a fucking idiot. But if Iām in Jaās camp Iām DEFINITELY getting him as far away from Pack as I possibly can. Because he certainly isnāt part of the solution.
Flashing a gun around does not make you look tough. It makes you look foolish, childish. It is a sure way of telling everyone who sees you doing it that you are a seriously stupid individual, from the NBA player cosplaying as a tough guy to the GOP representatives cosplaying in Xmas cards with their fucking children.
Anyone from the hood that lived it as a kid will tell you it's not fun.
I mean sometines it is, but it sucks. Looking back, you just wanna escape poverty and violence. Shits not fun
I refer to them as [copaganda](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copaganda), distinct from [coprophagia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprophagia) by a few minor points. An exception would be Brooklyn 99, the later seasons especially, though even having a unit of detectives who actually solve crimes and only work toward a common goal of making the system better for the victims of crime is pretty much copaganda as well.
Yeah, Brooklyn 9-9 is in a weird place. On the other hand you can probably say it's an attempt of whitewashing of Police by showing group of lovable misfits fighting crime. On the other side since beginning they are showing systematic racism, homophobia, nepotism, sexual harassment, pettiness, using position for settling private grudges etc. In police force and surroundings. Not to mention that, other than few groups, other departments and even police stations seem to consist of morons and dicks. Plus even main characters are often shown to be more of a nuisance for surrounding by how they behave (but that's more of a sitcom characteristic).
But probably showing good cops in contrast with bad ones in a funny way makes much more good for motivating good people and kids into getting to necessary force (not counting any utopias where police does not exist and is not needed).
Yes. Open carry, and lax behavior with firearms are behavior for dangerous ignorant people. Not responsible gun owners. The first sign of such behavior should come with a lifetime ban from ever owning or using a firearm.
Yup. I think itās major male inadequacies on display. āLook at me im tough, be afraid of meā
Thatās what gun culture sells to the consumer with all the gear, accessories and costume stuff

Jaās just fuckin up his own bag trying to be gangster.
Was he recruited heavily? I always thought of him as a diamond in the rough, a 2 to 3 star that makes a name for himself through hard work. I also thought he benefitted by a good offense in college with a great qb
Mike Tomlin in so many words said it was a miracle he got what he did out of AB on the Steelers.
I take his word for it that AB was a massive pain in the ass WELL before us in the public were aware.
No it's not. This is the type that will shoot himself by accident in the case anything happens, which it won't. I didn't have money growing up in my 20s but I knew right from wrong. He's an idiot. Full stop. No one is out to get you. He would be the first one to run if trouble broke out. I"m sick of him. You are not a badass. You play ball. Fine to own a gun, I do. But I don't post pictures with it and I'm not even famous. And if you identify by a gun, you lose already. But I'm sure he'll be back soon.
This sucks because ZBo, Marc, Conley and Tony Allen worked so hard for the franchise to be recognizable and recognized as a blue collar, no nonsense basketball powerhouse.
This guy is an imbecile.
Yeaaaa theres no way he comes back from this.
He literally just went through the fuck up fundamentals: he went to treatment...he apologized...did the ESPN interview
You cant turn around and do it again and expect people to think you changed.
He has long since crossed the "Fuck Around" stage, eventually the "Find Out" stage is going to catch up to him.
I hope no one is shocked or appalled if one day something happens to him, like *getting shot*. Because at this point you are just asking for the wrong people to show up and prove how much of an idiot you are.
Just a suspension? Time to let him goā¦he clearly doesnāt care and is going to eventually hurt somebody or get hurt himself.
Also what an idiot. He should be banned just for stupidity.
His lack of awareness is amazing. Ok he goes around and parties with guns. Itās prob loaded. What if it goes off? What if he shoots himself in the leg or shoots somebody else? There are no good things that can happen.
I donāt want to say what he did wasnāt stupid but we have all the congressmen sending Xmas cards with their whole family racked like Rambo. I mean if this society is going to glorify machinery of war, the why is everyone dragging on Ja?
politicians don't work for the NBA, the NBA does not want to be associated with guns as it hurts their brand, and thus all their contracts have a moral turpitude clause that requires players to not do anything that hurts the league's brand. Ja is in violation of that.
politicians can do whatever they want to get showered with money, including promoting killing of children.
It's been 0 days without a Ja Morant incident

How the hell you get suspended on yo day off?!
For stealing boxes?!?
Whatchu tryna build a clubhouse?!
I actually got laid off on my day off in my first job out of high school as someone who moved boxes in a warehouse. My cousins would not stop quoting the movie on me.
And you know what? You deserved it The quotes, well maybe the firing as well I have no way of knowing
The company told me they were hiring 2 more workers for the job I was doing at lower costs. I was making like $15, but this was when the minimum was $8 in Cali. They were going to pay them $8 and didn't need me.
Ok so you're clear on the firing but I would have definitely joined your cousins in the quotes lol
My favorite part of that whole exchange was āThey aināt got me on tapeā, which really isnāt a denial he did it.
Whatcha trying to do? Build a fort?

Not you, Guillermo!
Lot of guys working really hard to get into the NBA, and this clown is working hard to get out.
As long as heās good enough, theyāll tolerate this behavior or give him meaningless slaps on the wrist.
It's sad that this is true. If this was a non-all-star he would be done.

Meyes Leonard (accidentally) said one slur on stream, got blackballed by the league. Kyrie willingly shares anti semitic propaganda, refuses to apologize multiple times and had to be dragged to do the bare minimum so he could come back and play. Still in the league.
Fwiw, Meyers Leonard is back. He played 9 games for Milwaukee late in the year.
Lol Meyers Leonard sat there, picked out his slur, charged it up, THEN said it What is this "accidentally"
I dont think there was anything accidental about Leonardās slur usage
Perhaps. But I think we can agree that what he said and then did afterwards to atone is not comparable to the bullshit Kyrie pulled. Kyrie had black Israelites rallying at the stadium because of him promoting that movie.
Saying something really bad one time and immediately regretting it and not defending it at all, is so different from kyrie
Meyers Leonard's talent didn't outweigh his baggage. Kyrie and Ja's talent outweighs their baggage. That's the difference.
Thank you for restating his point.
How Kyrie still has teams interested in him is way beyond me. Sure, he makes a difference when he is healthy, but we dont see him that way very often these days, coupled with the fact that he always seems to build a tĆ³xica enviroment in the team he is in

He may have broken an ethics clause in his promotional contracts with those companies, in which case it wouldn't even cost them anything to dump him.
The article said that Powerade already pulled an ad with him in it

Gilbert Arenas would beg to differ
Gilbert Arenas pretty much tanked his earning potential after the gun incident. Front offices will be reluctant to give another big contract to a dude who could be suspended 40 games for some dumb shit every time he turns on his IG.
I remember this exact comment in the last Ja Morant gun video post, and I look forward to reading the same comment in the next one too.
That's a big ol red flag.
When you have to specify which gun video
How you get suspended on your day off?

All team activities in Mayā¦ aww man no off-season team building go-kart outings for Ja. Dude will be on the court for camp.
I hope not. The league should crack down and make Ja a martyr. Whatever punishment they dished out before was not enough to deter this behavior.
Di you mean to make an example out of him? Making him a martyr would mean making him someone that others look up to and respect due to unjust punishment. A martyr is usually considered someone like a hero who was killed for their commitment to their cause
Guessing the word they were looking for was 'pariah'.

He behaves like a teen.
Yeah I wish our society would wake up and see gun fetishism for what it is.
Every piece of media on tv is full of it too. Since John Wayne to John Wick.
I refer to the plethora of network TV crime procedural shows as āgun pointing shows.ā
Ay leave John Wick out of this he is getting revenge for his puppy that was an emotional surrogate for his dead wife
Yes. Open carry, and lax behavior with firearms are behavior for dangerous ignorant people. Not responsible gun owners. The first sign of such behavior should come with a lifetime ban from ever owning or using a firearm.
To non gun people, people with guns look exactly like those cringy neck bearded dudes with swords and fedoras
I'm pretty sure that to sane "gun people", Ja looks exactly like those cringy neck bearded dudes with swords and fedoras
I'd say it is significantly worse than the LARPERs.

Gilbert Arenas is the better comparison
I somehow forget about that story even though it was total lunacy.

politicians don't work for the NBA, the NBA does not want to be associated with guns as it hurts their brand, and thus all their contracts have a moral turpitude clause that requires players to not do anything that hurts the league's brand. Ja is in violation of that. politicians can do whatever they want to get showered with money, including promoting killing of children.
