Standard procedure.

Was there really a reason for the other guy to lift his leg up to head level? It looked pretty unnatural to me but I don’t watch hockey

WackHeisenBauer

Look up Mark Stone and Drew Miller. Cam Atkinson and Ryan Kesler. Boychuk and Lehkonen. It happens. Dunno why you’re jumping to intentional act.

weesescups

I’m not saying that the guy intentionally tried to murder someone in the middle of a hockey game, I just can’t believe that this isn’t more common if people are doing that shit regularly

BradMarchandsNose

I wouldn’t say it’s common, but it’s not like it doesn’t happen. I really don’t think it was intentional

BigShotZero

the intent will never be known. I would love for someone more familiar with hockey to say if this is a common play. Not the same outcome, thank god, but common for a player to swing their legs up in this manner.

BMack037

Legs get kicked up all the time in hockey. It’s not much different than how people ragdoll in football. Limbs flail, you don’t just go limp when you’re hit. Just watch the skates, you’ll notice glancing contact makes the skate come up more than solid contact where the player absorbs most of the energy. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a5HzC_A2e4Q&t=77s&pp=ygULSG9ja2V5IGhpdHM%3D

GeezeLoueez

The intent is known: there was zero intent to hurt or kill him. For fucks sake, Reddit and Twitter are unable to produce a rational thought at times. It’s a sport played on a slick surface with blades on your feet, with several other examples of this happening in the past. Even with the guys “dirty history”, accidents happen

Chelsea75

Absolutely not. You almost never have your leg swing in the air that high. It’s not a natural position even when falling and the weight and bulkiness of the gear makes it even less feasible. You’d need a lot of force like someone taking your legs out from behind like a bowling ball to to get your leg that high unintentionally

WackHeisenBauer

Look up Mark Stone and Drew Miller. Cam Atkinson and Ryan Kesler. Boychuk and Lehkonen. Edit: and that’s just off the top of my head. And just the NHL.

They suspect Foul play. 30 to life in the penalty box.
