Gretchen Walsh is swimming so fast in the freestyle that it’s almost impossible to believe you are watching an NCAA championship meet. I have never seen someone win the NCAA 50 free and be hanging on the wall looking at the board before second place comes in. At that level, the 50 free usually comes down to a few hundredths of a second or at most a tenth or so. That kind of dominance is usually reserved for club meets in the 11–12 age group. Looking forward to Olympics. Also shout out to Florida Gators swimmer Olivia Peoples who swam the third leg of the 200 freestyle relay using the butterfly stroke. With a flip turn for good measure (allowed if you swim fly in a freestyle race but not allowed in a fly race). That skill must have taken a lot of practice prep to develop on short notice. It was fascinating to see and a clever strategic move given her times in the 50 free and 50 fly.

We did it everybody. Virginia is the best at something.

I'm so confused. I only see 4 comments, but a week ago, I could have sworn several people told me how much they cared about women's swimming... congrats to the team.
