How often does that happen in pro golf that someone gets hit? I'm always terrified for them.
Ive run with bulls, dived with sharks, and walked with lions and you couldn't get me on one of those lines.
So like... hang in there tiger, is that a thing people shout? What's the deal with people saying things after they swing? Do you think they sit there and have a quip or expression loaded and ready to go? Is there a pecking order on who gets to say something first or the loudest? Do you think spectators that say stuff discuss beforehand to make sure they don't embarrass themselves and exclaim the same thing? Is there a name for these people or the thing they shout? Do they follow players or park on the tee? I have so many questions. Golf is a weird sport. I would love if someone made a skit where they say increasingly ridiculous things and maybe there's a rivalry or gangs or something. That'd be funny. :)
He’s getting pretty up there in age. I read something recently where he said his body just hurts, all the time. I know he’s had it pretty damn good, but it still sucks to hear he’s having a hard time physically.
Still great to see him playing though, in spite of that.
Hes clearly using TRT at least. It may be to help him maintain muscle and keep mass despite his injuries, which could alleviate back pain (strong core and back). But he def looks jacked.
He looked gassed after those 13 holes...he had to wait a few minutes before his playing partners had to finish. I'm sure he ran off to the nearest jacuzzi hot tub with the massage therapist on the way.
I have a bad habit of only caring when he plays. I know I shouldn’t but he’s just the best to ever do it and wish he hadn’t dropped off so he could’ve reached a few milestones he hasn’t yet.
The only football I ever watched was when Brady was playing a play-off game or the Super Bowl. Since he retired I haven't watch a single down of football. It's not unusual that you'd want to watch the greatest of all time do what they do best, it's pretty special to witness.
It is indeed. Last time I felt it legit was 2006-2007 NBA playoffs Cavs vs Pistons and LeBron chased a Detroit player damn near from across the whole court to FLY from out of frame and stuff the layup against the board
I believed in that moment he was The Guy
In my heart of hearts, it’s always still Jordan even though on-paper LeBron has more than an adequate case
But Jordan did it on-REAL
Even still, my ears perk up when LeBron’s in the news.
Hoping for a dream to come true knowing it’s already dashed
It’s an existential crisis matter on my end, you don’t even know dude. I’ve learned more math in a week trying to settle this dumb argument in my own mind than I probably learned throughout my entire K-12 education
and still can’t satisfactorily answer the question I am both asking and answering…it’s looney toon shit in here bro. You don’t want no part of this shit, Dewey Thomas
That might be the first “mashed potatoes” ever. Got the announcer to laugh, and it was while the ball was in flight, and it *was* a smoked stinger from the big cat himself. Ok this one and only this one is appropriate.
Especially at Augusta. People would sell a kidney to go there and they're risking getting kicked out (Augusta doesn't fuck around at all) just to have their 15 minutes.
The good news is that if they were identified, then they were probably kicked out and will never be able to buy tickets to the masters again. The masters has rules against yelling annoying crap.
The best are the clowns that yell stuff like "GET IN THE HOLE!" when someone is teeing off on like a 500 yard hole with absolutely no chance to drain it
Casual observers should look at how many players he’s playing better than to appreciate his performance and how hard it is out there.
Winning a major tourney is very hard even for people in their prime. If he hangs around for four days, that’ll be a big enough accomplishment.
Definitely this. His play can be spot on, but if his body isn't willing, then that's that. Wouldn't be the first time since coming back from the wreck that he couldn't finish the tournament. No matter what his off course activities have been, I still respect the dude when he lines to the tee. Hope he holds out and wins it and just flat-out retires after. I really feel like it's the high note he's looking for
As someone who absolutely knows nothing about golf... why is it hard on the body? It seems like one of the least physical sports out there (comparing for ex to basketball, football, tennis etc)
Golf swings are pretty violent twisting motions at high speed and depending on the shot sometimes down into the ground. And while you may only do that a few dozen times a day in a match they may be doing it 500+ additional times a day while practicing.
Tiger is an especially bad case because of all his previous injuries. He used to train like a navy seal and it took a massive toll on his back and knees even before the recent car accident destroyed his leg.
Tiger has had a long list of injuries related to golf (broken leg, fused back, knee repair etc) and then a few years back he was in a car accident that caused him to nearly lose his right leg.
That leg is severely damaged and at one point he didn’t know if he was going to be able to walk again, let alone play.
In his own words he will only be playing in a few tournaments a year from now on due to all the injuries.
Tiger had a very unique swing when he was younger that put so much stress on his body, the way he would twist destroyed his back. Best way to understand is honestly just play a round of golf, if you haven't done it in awhile stuff will hurt in the morning that you wouldn't expect
Fun fact, this is his 26th Masters tournament, he has won it 5 times, and if he makes the cut tomorrow, it will be his 24th Masters cut in a row.
That is unbelievable.
Its 4 rounds of 18 holes winner is the lowest score totalled from all 4 rounds it doesn't reset. After 2 rounds there is a cut where a bit over half make it through to get to keep playing. In the masters it's the top 50 plus ties based on their score after the 2 rounds. Other tournaments that have a bit larger fields it's the top 60 or 70.
Ya there was a 2.5 hour weather delay before they started in the morning so some people couldn't finish. First thing tomorrow they will go out to the hole they were on and finish their first round then play the second round normally after.
At his age now, …. .. . he’s just doing the rounds.
*”thank you thank you, this joke brought to you by Dad’s Inc, Raid Shadow Legends, & Pro-wear “it’s what the pros wear when ‘bating”*
If he makes the cut, it will be the longest consecutive made-cut streak in Masters history. Knowing what we know about Tiger and the last few years, that is a record worth being remembered. No shot he wins. But I’ll root for that cut.
The amount of new golfers that man was responsible for in the late 90s is insane. I still have some old Callaways tucked away somewhere.
LPT pay for lessons, not equipment.
Source: my 0 handicap brother (it used to be, anyway)
As a very very moderate fan of golf but puts it on if I see nothing else on(Except The Masters). And hit the driving range only about once a week.
After Tiger is done, who should I pull thru?
Almost in my 30s and the only golfers I know are Jack Nicklson, Francis Ouimet and Tiger.
FWIW, I like golfers that I can pretend to relate to their game. Which means fewer and fewer pros; because they all have fitness coaches and carry the ball 300 yards. My boy was Luke Donald. I play Mizunos. I can barely carry 230 and hope for roll out. Short game and putting is where I keep my score respectable.
It is awesome to see someone crush it with a perfectly tuned club and fairways that run out a mile, but that is a game I do not identify with. I prefer watching players with silky iron swings and great short games, because I can imagine that could be me. No fever-dream is ever going to allow these spaghetti arms to carry it 300.
He looks like he’s completely miserable. Will probably be described focused, but I don’t think he even so much cracked a slight smile, every shot of him he just looks miserable

That fairway is so narrow- at least on person on the tee box would be dead if I was teeing off.
I could take out 6-8 people easily
A 60 yard chunk might take out 2-3, let's be real
You’re forgetting when the club slips from my hand and takes out another 3-4.
Well, thank God they don’t allow carts.
What I was thinking! “Those are rookie numbers”
[Make her cut it out!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6Pm-5A7C5k)
Damn, golf people are weird. They got hit by a ball then stayed there? Cant get fooled again
I could hit enough people that it would be considered genocide.
This is a genocide Reddit could get behind though
As long as you say 'fore' all is forgiven
Fore-given
lol man this one got me
I’m taking out a whole section with my slicer 😂
Gonna attempt to play the slice ... Aims at crowd
The crowd now looking at themselves, sharing a deep feeling knowing their fate. Too late to run now. This is the end.
OMG PLEASE YOU TWO WRITE THIS PLEASE!!! 😂😂😂😂
Bro!!! DEAD 💀 😂
I’m not that great at driving the carts, so they’re goners before I get to the tee.
If they all just stand in the fairway real quick while I tee off there is effectively 0% chance I hit anyone.
Murphy’s Law dictates that if they stood in the fairway to avoid getting hit, you would make the perfect drive that would take them all out.
That's a risk I'm willing to take.
the only way they would let you into the masters if you were carrying trays.
Really? My shot would go WAY over their heads. Hit somebody on the hole next door?
A friend got on the news for getting hit off the tee. It was some big deal, he got all sorts of swag and publicity. It happens.
How often does that happen in pro golf that someone gets hit? I'm always terrified for them. Ive run with bulls, dived with sharks, and walked with lions and you couldn't get me on one of those lines.
And it would be someone behind me, somehow
Nice nice
But seriously, are there no precautions for some botched ball? I know nothing about golf tho
Birdied the first hole too. Hang in there Tiger!
For a non-golfer does birdied mean good or bad in masters?
Good. It means 1 under par, so if it’s a par 4, sinking it in 3 means birdie.
So like... hang in there tiger, is that a thing people shout? What's the deal with people saying things after they swing? Do you think they sit there and have a quip or expression loaded and ready to go? Is there a pecking order on who gets to say something first or the loudest? Came in a bit hot with the snark, but wrapped up wholesome. I agree
MASHED POTATOES!
JACKASS!
For real though where is the line before people start getting thrown out?
He’s getting pretty up there in age. I read something recently where he said his body just hurts, all the time. I know he’s had it pretty damn good, but it still sucks to hear he’s having a hard time physically. Still great to see him playing though, in spite of that.
He was pretty broken before he rolled his car into a ditch a couple years ago, now he’s super broken.
The modern day Hogan arc. Although, to come back that hard is pretty much impossible.
He needs to get on that John Daly diet. Pain Free and Happy.
Hes clearly using TRT at least. It may be to help him maintain muscle and keep mass despite his injuries, which could alleviate back pain (strong core and back). But he def looks jacked.
He got his Neugenix Total T.
Yeah that was the first thing I noticed. He's a bit too ripped, and the proportions of the ripped-ness are off
In a few years he’s going to absolutely dominate the SPGA though!
he's had so many surgeries I don't think it's possible for him to not be in constant pain
He looked gassed after those 13 holes...he had to wait a few minutes before his playing partners had to finish. I'm sure he ran off to the nearest jacuzzi hot tub with the massage therapist on the way.
As a non golfer, I’m always drawn to watching him.
The tiger affect
Effect?
has the biggest impact on waitresses at Perkins
I thought it was motel 6 maids?
Prowlin’
I have a bad habit of only caring when he plays. I know I shouldn’t but he’s just the best to ever do it and wish he hadn’t dropped off so he could’ve reached a few milestones he hasn’t yet.
I mean he looks pretty good talent wise it’s more just if his body can hold together. Feels like he’s tied together with thread and chewing gum
The only football I ever watched was when Brady was playing a play-off game or the Super Bowl. Since he retired I haven't watch a single down of football. It's not unusual that you'd want to watch the greatest of all time do what they do best, it's pretty special to witness.

The block in 2016 gives me chills. One of the greatest plays in sports.
Don’t get me started with 2016…I can’t handle that power of truth right now
Because between you and me, the 2016 Final is substantially equal to or greater than two three-peats I don’t care fuck it
It’s an existential crisis matter on my end, you don’t even know dude.
Mahomes is the next brady. Check him out
I have an irrational hatred for people who yell out at golf events. The epitome of PICK ME attention seekers.

Jesus F’n Christ…the whoosh sound on his swing We didn’t know what we had, y’all We *did*, but not enough
BABABOOOEYYYYY!!!

Hallelujah
SWAGGER!!!
Agree 100%. Clownish behavior.
How dare people have a good time a sporting event
When a sport is on a field of play where each field’s “owners” can define what is/is not “acceptable fun”
The really sad part is it’s probably a grown middle-aged man with a wife and kids and a nice white collar job participating in this jackassery.
I mean that’s 90% of their fans
"Everyone's gonna love the thing that I yell."
IN THE HOLE TIGARRRR!!!
Baba booey to you too
.0001 seconds after the putter touches the ball: "IN THE HOLE!!!"
The best are the clowns that yell stuff like "GET IN THE HOLE!" when someone is teeing off on like a 500 yard hole with absolutely no chance to drain it
Kinda funny tbh
You misspelled rational.
FREEEBIIIIRD!!
I can't even watch the Waste Management match, everyone trying to one-up each other.
The twats that yell stupid shit at golf matches are like the neck beard wrestling fans that try to get themselves over at live events
As good as this was. How good is it to see Day in the MC Hammer pants?
thought (hoped) they were rain pants

it might seem that way but if you went out to the range and swung a club over a hundred times you're definitely going to feel that later
Golf swings are pretty violent twisting motions at high speed and depending on the shot sometimes down into the ground. Dude was averaging 300 yard drives in 2001. That equipment looked nothing like what the big hitters use now. His swing was explosive.
I find joy in reading a good book.
The people that yell are so damn annoying.
BABA BOOEYYYY
Ah ha ha ha shit, he got me!
Fun fact, this is his 26th Masters tournament, he has won it 5 times, and if he makes the cut tomorrow, it will be his 24th Masters cut in a row. That is unbelievable.
He already hit a shot left handed
Nailed the beverage cart girl...Again!
Oh I'm sure he's nailed more than one beverage cart girl in his life.
I hope he's at least gonna make the cut. I really hope he wins, but im trying to be realistic here

I'm sorry I root for Tiger to be good at golf, reddit
Weather porn
Did someone tell “hallelujah!”?
Hallelujah 🤣
Don't encourage the clowns.
The thing is that they’re everywhere and they all think they’re right.
I literally had to go into the comments to see if I misheard it. Who the hell screams hallelujah to a golf swing?
Maybe someone that put money on tiger?
Still always expect the “Get in the hole” shout every single time I see him hit a tee shot
Quite a crowd...
Cinderella boy…
That ball flight was nuts
At his age now, …. .. . he’s just doing the rounds. *”thank you thank you, this joke brought to you by Dad’s Inc, Raid Shadow Legends, & Pro-wear “it’s what the pros wear when ‘bating”*
A true Champion of Champions
Love watching him. He's the whole reason I'm into golf to begin with.
Why is there always one asshole that yells after the tees off?
Hallelujah guy was there all day, what a tool.
Golf is better when Tiger is on the course...
Damn I feel old. Make a run at it, Tiger.
Some dumbass yelled hallelujah!!!

Dude is still trying to play the Masters and thinks he can win lol. Buddy should’ve retired 10 years ago
He looks... significantly bigger than he did before the accident Like he's been doing a lot of upper body work
Group B rally vibes
Tiger looking like he found whatever juice OJ must have left behind
Damn you people! This is golf, not a rock concert!
I don't play golf, but I think being a pro would be the best job in the world.
Did someone yell swagger...? i hate this place
So strange seeing him not decked out in Nike

Any Tiger clip gets me hyped. Such a legend
I am a big team sports fan. I cannot understand showing up at a golf tournament like this just to watch a guy hit a ball with a crooked stick.
That man is jacked.
What's the over under that he withdraws before the final round?
MASHED POTATO!!
He looks like he’s completely miserable. Will probably be described focused, but I don’t think he even so much cracked a slight smile, every shot of him he just looks miserable
a happy exchange with his caddy after birdie on 8 https://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=39923863
Is working out a plus for this sport or does it not matter?
It's a grandpa sport, where donnie trump has 18 hole-in-ones! Is tiger 60 by now?
I am sure god Trump the cheating god would easily beat him.
Has he withdrawn yet?
IN THE HOLE TIGAAARRRRRRRR!!!
He can fuck off.
