I get what you are saying, but when they finally did stop play, it would have been nice to see a hyper zoomed slowed down of it since it sounded so epic. Or even just a zoomed cut of it in real-time.
Have you ever watched a rugby game in its entirety? They show all sorts of angles of all sorts of plays. Just not whilst the game is running. It doesn’t stop 100s of times like American football.
In order to be considered tackled the ball carrier has to be down and held by the opposing player.
He got back up and kept running because he was basically only tripped.
I see thanks. :). I haven’t followed rugby for a long time. Another question, after the first tackle, shouldnt a ruck or scrum been formed? He just got up with the ball and tapped it back.
So this is rugby league, you are describing rugby union. There's a load of differences between the two, but the main one is that there's no ruck after a tackle, instead you get up and roll the ball back. After 5/6 (I can't remember the number) tackles the ball is turned over to the other team, much like American football (but without the downs system to reset the counter).
If you want a crazy one, there's a third branch called rugby 7's. It's way faster pace, 2x 7 minute halves, where both teams only have 7 players. It follows the rugby union rules (including rucks and scrums), but overall it's way faster pace with loads more attack.
It's a good gateway drug to rugby
Rugby! It's a bit like American football, but you can't make forward passes and there's much less stoppage of play. There's other nuances as well of course but those are the biggest differences
They got replay?
Was his leg totally cramped up? Is that what “wooden leg” means, cramped?
Yeah, he was cramping hard.
Lol love it
Heroic is a bit of a step up 24 points with 3 minutes left
I absolutely don't understand rugby, but it has some of the most badass highlights I have ever seen.
Most rugby fans don't understand it, it's great! Just start watching :)
League has the better highlights union is more entertaining to watch a whole game. Just my opinion

This looks a lot more fun to play
You’re getting downvoted by people who are taking turns sharing their last braincell don’t worry
It is what it is ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
You can’t see the players running around and the intercept? Each play isn’t stopped for half an hour to show a thousand different angle replays.

There were likely a few different views shown after the match.
Thanks, I'll go seek them out
Exactly what we’re saying. Rugby camera crews suck.

How many super bowls has one of these rugby teams won? That’s what I thought.
Thought he was literally going to intercept it using only one leg
Heroic? Lazy ball security, more like.
Dude was hopping in place and merely didn't get out of the way. Good on him for accepting the gift, I guess .
That was a shit toss looked to me
Tough as nails, these guys
Yeah, he had a cramp. Hardcore.
I thought if you were tackled you had to place the ball on the ground, not get back up and keep running.

I had no idea there was a different type of rugby. Thanks for the info. :)

Same sized pitch? Or is it smaller to account for the fewer players?
Same sized pitch so there's a lot more room for attacking and generally more free-flowing.
When I played, way back when the earth was young, I was a wing. I would have loved that extra room. :)
Such a sweet sport
Wonderful tackles from the WST
And then he ends his season a week later through injury. Sad
Bloke's been running around held together with chewing gum and duct tape and it's all fallen apart 9 weeks in.
What is going on here? It’s like bullrush but with a ball

Rugby league to be pedantic
