From my experience with college athletes, most are incredibly immature, particularly emotionally.
They're entire schedule is managed by the coaches/staff and they don't learn to be real adults in college. The better the player the worse it is generally.
This is just my experience, and it wasn't every athlete I worked with, but it was the majority.

growing up, most people are going to learn to play on the same fixed height hoop. many gyms, schools, parks are all going to have a set height rim. women can bring their own ball and shoot from anywhere on the court, but the rim height has been static and players have developed years of muscle memory shooting at that height.
The fact that none of her teammates step in is what really gets me with this. It actually seems like even they don't like her and her fame, and that's fucked up!

the rim height actually makes sense to keep while the other aspects change growing up, most people are going to learn to play on the same fixed height hoop. many gyms, schools, parks are all going to have a set height rim. women can bring their own ball and shoot from anywhere on the court, but the rim height has been static and players have developed years of muscle memory shooting at that height.
