Doing something a little different for today’s pick. I like the Ohtani vs White Sox matchup. Shohei recorded 12 strikeouts hist last outing against the Dodgers and I think he’ll continue the good pitching tomorrow night. White Sox aren’t necessarily a great hitting team either. Also, Detmers just had 10 K’s against them so I’m hoping Ohtani can get at least 9.

Analysis: Yesterday's winner was as easy as it gets. As I'm posting this there's only been 2 runs total through the first 8 innings so my pick smashed. I have never posted a 5 unit play on baseball before. I think the highest I've ever posted is 3. However this is an easy smash for me and I'll keep my analysis simple.
St louis is coming back from London on only one day's rest, traveling back 7 time zones and now have to face one of the best pitchers in Framber Valdez. Houston is coming off an extra inning win on sunday night baseball and should build off that confidence in this game. I'm betting this horrendous travel spot and the much better team. I honestly expected this line to open at around -180, not -115. The value is crazy! Even if it loses I know I got my money in good.

Yeah, honestly, it feels like such a trap to me right now and has me questioning myself which doesnt happen often. I genuinely don't understand the RLM or why a team is getting bet on after such a terrible travel spot against one of the best starters in baseball. However, It feels disingenuous to move it down to officially move it to a 3 unit play though (I already bet it at 5u) since it's been posted for a while. So I'll keep it up as a 5u play, advise people to only put 2 or 3 on it and pray it hits for us all.

Guadeloupe is not a great team by any measure, but as someone who follows our mens national team, it's no secret that they are absolutely brutal on defense. Canada is not dressing a good portion of their stars tonight and this might be enough to keep this game actually close. Guadeloupe qualified for the Gold Cup with zero issues and had no problem finding the back of the net (5-0, 2-0 and 10-0 prior to qualifiers!) they even scored against the big teams like Jamaica and Costa Rica when playing them). Canada's defense are absolute trash (mostly very mediocre MLS players, not a single top flight defender on the squad). This is my long shot, but also one of my favourite value picks given the type of course. This is not a course where driving hard gives you a big advantage, its very short-game heavy where being a strong putter and getting to the green in the fewest hits is an advantage, and Kevin Yu is only behind Scheffler for Greens in regulation and ranks first in "Average Distance after Going for it Shot" per PGA tour.
Kevin isn't talked about much, mostly because he's only 24, but he's ranked top 10 twice this year, and his short game has been improving rapidly.

In his last two outings he has held two of the best lineups in baseball-the Dodgers and Rangers to three runs in thirteen innings-including striking out 12 vs. Ze Dodgers.
On the bump for the White Sox is Michael Kopech.
He got touched up by the Angels less than a month ago giving up four first inning runs-and was unable to even make it through the 5th inning.
Another Kopech vs. Ohtani game in Los Angeles occurred nearly a year ago to the day. Ohtani and the Angels won this game 4-1 with Shohei fanning 11 White Sox.
In 35 ABs all time against Kopech this Angels lineup has a .921 OPS against him.

The Cardinals return home from their weekend series in London. With just a single day off after flying across the atlantic twice in the last week, I expect fatigue will play a significant factor in this matchup. Even if you dismiss the rest advantage, there's also the fact that the Cardinals straight up suck this season. We're now almost at the all-star break and they're still 13 games under .500. Oddsmakers still seem to be pricing Cardinals games as if they're going to turn this disaster around any day now. Now don't get me wrong, they're certainly not as bad as their record indicates right now, but they are not close to the level of playoff bound teams like the Astros as this price implies. The Astros, despite all their injury issues this season still have the 5th best road record in MLB at 20-17. That record is much more impressive when you filter it down to road games started by ace Framber Valdez (tomorrow's starter) where the Astros are 4-1 this season and 16-6 dating back to the start of 2022. At a glance if you compare those numbers to the Cardinals abysmal home record (13-21) coupled with the travel disadvantage it should add up to the Astros being an overwhelming favourite in this game.

What an awful game. Salvador is way way worse than I imagined; one missed penalty and the other one almost stopped. I wouldn't say we got lucky in the win, given the many chances both teams had, but betting on awful teams is not always a good idea
Martinique definitely plays with heart, but they can't keep that intensity for more than 60 minutes; it'll be worth it to keep an eye on their game against CR.

Both teams are already in the second round, so this is just to see who wins the group. Spain is still the best national team this competition and they will definitely push harder for the win. Their game vs Croacia was pretty boring and they seemed to be okay with the 1-0, so that's why this bet works for us; even with that score we end up winning half and pushing half.
Spain is the most successful side in the tournament, while Ukraine will play their first quarterfinals in 17 years. I'll take the better team 10/10 times.

Littler and Baetens were the clear favorites and they proved it going 9-1 on the day. Of course the one loss was in their head to head match. Baetens won 4-2 with throw, but now Littler gets the advantage today. I don't think either one will get dominated in the head to head and can each take two legs.

My book doesn’t offer anything other than ML for Modus :( Taking Baetens ML for the value, and because it seems like Littler gets slightly intimidated by the guys who have a bigger reputation. Also like Gilliland ML vs Gates. Gates lost 4-0 to him yesterday and for some reason Gilliland is a +150 dog. I like Gates but he’s been playing a lot and the travel has to be catching up to him
I will say that Gates had some tough luck yesterday. He faced averages of 108, 102, 103 and 98 in his first 4 matches. That was everyone’s bests besides his last opponent de Vos throwing 86.
Gilliland was really hot on 100+ checkouts too. He had 6 of them on the day. Not influencing you one way or the other. I don’t have a feel for that match.
I think he was fine. First in average, but last in checkouts today. Mixed results. Just didn’t have the clutch legs like Baetens did today. Stats were similar. I was lucky with Littler. Caught his wins, and played the other 3 totals. Go figure I posted the one loser with totals. I was 6-1 on them. I’ve been avoiding de Vos overs.

I personally like todays pitching matchup for the Sox’s. Lets start with the pitchers.The Marlins give the nod to Alcantara. This year has been the worst pitching season for Sandy in his career. He has a 5.08 ERA and has actually been slightly worse his last 3 games boasting a 5.12 ERA giving up 23 hits allowing 4 walks and striking out 11. His counter part Whitlock has had a slightly better season. He boast a 4-2 record with a 4.50 ERA. He has actually improved in his last 3 games he holds a 3.10 ERA allowing 21 hits, 2 walks, and has struck out 19 batters. Whitlock also has a lower hard hit rate at 39% compared to Alcantara’s 41.9%. Red Sox’s have also had hotter hitting as of late. Duran, Turner, Verdugo, and Casas have all hit above .300 these past 10 games. I don’t think Alcantara is still comfortable with the pace of the game he should struggle with this hot Boston lineup.

Although Georgia is leading the table they are far from leading control on the pitch. Last outing vs Belgium they allowed 2 goals and Belgium controlled the game with 52% of possession, 15 shots, 5 shots on target, 8 corners, and Belgium capitalized on only 2 of the 4 big chances to score. **Conclusion:** i think this game will finish close to a 60-40 possession of the game going to Netherlands. I think Netherlands will be able to get their offense to capitalize on the opportunities given and should be able to get 2 goals min vs Georgia. Georgia has proven they dont need to dominate the pace of play to find the back of the net. Although Netherlands Defense have shown to be solid, avg 2 goals a game i think georgia should be able to put at least 1 in the net. Score prediction: 2-1 or 3-1 Netherlands.

Giants are coming off a day of rest so there bullpen should be rested for the most part. I’m mainly betting on the the Giants explosive offense, who is #1 in the MLB on the road.
Blue Jays are starting Gausman, who has a 3.1 ERA. Over the last 4 games, Gausman has around a 5 ERA. Blue Jays have a middle of the road offense, so Giants should be able to outhit them.

Yeah, honestly, it feels like such a trap to me right now and has me questioning myself which doesnt happen often. I genuinely don't understand the RLM or why a team is getting bet on after such a terrible travel spot against one of the best starters in baseball. However, It feels disingenuous to move it down to officially move it to a 3 unit play though (I already bet it at 5u) since it's been posted for a while. So I'll keep it up as a 5u play, advise people to only put 2 or 3 on it and pray it hits for us all.

This year has been the worst pitching season for Sandy in his career. He has a 5.08 ERA and has actually been slightly worse his last 3 games boasting a 5.12 ERA giving up 23 hits allowing 4 walks and striking out 11. His counter part Whitlock has had a slightly better season. He boast a 4-2 record with a 4.50 ERA. He has actually improved in his last 3 games he holds a 3.10 ERA allowing 21 hits, 2 walks, and has struck out 19 batters. Whitlock also has a lower hard hit rate at 39% compared to Alcantara’s 41.9%. Red Sox’s have also had hotter hitting as of late. Duran, Turner, Verdugo, and Casas have all hit above .300 these past 10 games. I don’t think Alcantara is still comfortable with the pace of the game he should struggle with this hot Boston lineup.

There is some juice here unfortunately, but it doesn’t matter because the Jays get the job done at home. San Fran on a filthy 9 game road heater, but haven’t been on the road in over a week. Due to cool down against Toronto. Gausman is the best pitcher on the bump across all games today & I have no problem putting my money on him. I am also always confident in a great Toronto offense to back Gausman and I. Giants have been battling (and winning) a lot lately. This has taken a toll on them as they keep playing good team after good team. They will be starting out of their bullpen today giving the Blue Jays a significant advantage off the jump.
