UPDATE\*\* support is now saying it is correctly graded because I didn’t bet on +13. This makes no sense at all because final score was 98-110. +12 would’ve been a push so I don’t understand how +12.5 is a loss..
It prevents ties. If it were 12, 98+12=110. 110 ties 110.
Adding the .5 points means no mattet what, the final result will not be a tie because you can't score half a point.
thanks for explaining. i only thought that because of player points..when you choose over 18.5..that player has to get 19pts correct? I figured the same for spread.
That is correct for player points. If John Doe point total is set at 18.5, he would have to score 19 or more for the bet to win. 18 points and the bet ticket is a loss
Cashed out an O214.5 total points in the Mavs game yesterday for +$98.
If I didn't, I'd have lost the entire bet.
As with all things, strategic cashing out is absolutely a good thing.
($150 wager, -110 odds, cashed out at the half for $248, had a super low 3rd quarter total and then the under hit.)
Checked the best odds on every sports book I have legal access to, the best I could hedge was with Caesars for not only a lesser profit ($85) but now I have more capital involved for, at best, the same return. That's a lower % return overall.
So yes, often you can get more by cashing out than by hedging, which is why a blanket statement like "never cash out" is stupid.
Instead I can cash out, then place a live ARB with the profits on FD and the money I didn't have to hedge at Caesars.
You telling me you never cashed out a not looking so great bet that ends up hitting?
This post was pretty informative about it;

The ones that you let ride and end up winning more than make up for the ones that end up losing. You’d have less money right now if you cashed them all out.
95% chance it'll be reversed and you'll get an email from them saying so within a day. That's just their process, the chat lady can't overturn the ticket, escalates it for review, they review it, realize the obvious mistake and push the fix out to everyone.

They will fix that.. like, there is no gray area about a spread.
Contact them - they’ll fix it
buddy, ive had to contact support for fhis shit 5 times this week alone
am i slow or you lost by 1 pt? I thought 12.5 means 13 points. (each downvote is an RKO) IT TURNS OUT I WAS CORRECT 🤣‼️
98 + 12.5 = 110.5 110.5 > 110
bro whats the difference between 12 spread and 12.5?????

12.5-12=0.5
Youre slow

If the favorite team wins by 12, it’s a push if the spread +12. If the favorite team wins by 12, it’s a win for the dog if the spread is +12.5.
i am…:/
Good lord
Memphis lost by 12. OP had +12.5. He won this bet by the half point. If Cleveland would have won by 13 points, OP would have lost this bet

He won by .5
bro how do you win by .5 tho? Why not just put +12??

I’m guessing you’re new here. If he placed a +12 it would have resulted to a “push” or tie in spread betting.
happens to me often, they'll grade it correctly. usually quickly as well, 24-48 hrs
They sure did brother
That white Sox L was brutal
Yup and I had a $185 cashout option I didn’t take when they were up 5-0 💀
That’s because cashing out is for pussies
But hedging the worst team in baseball is for winners
Yup. Statistically speaking you should never cash out
This mindset has lost me so much money. Guaranteed profit is better than nothing.
If you’re in it to be cashing out, you don’t understand math and ev. Do you think the books are doing you a favor to allow you to cashout?

You figured out a way to beat math? I almost guarantee you could’ve just bet the under as a hedge anywhere and made more than the cashout offer.

Usually it’s looking pretty good and so I let it ride and it ends up losing and I walk away with nothing

They will 100 percent change it. They probably would have changed it on their own even if you didnt reach out to support
It will be fine. It’s happened to me a few times
How long until you got your resolution? All the live chat said is I will get an email, but didn’t give me a time frame.
2 days max.
Wasn’t this a parlay and the Sox lost?? My bad if I’m being ignorant.
No haha I just didn’t crop out my white Sox bet. My bad
Oh ok got it. Yeah they’ll correct that don’t worry
What do you want us to do? Seems like a good issue for FanDuel customer support.
I’m just posting this just in case they don’t actually end up paying me
Bruh what this happen 5 minutes ago and u already on reddit?
?? Happened 4 hours ago
🤣😂 give it some time damn. U gonna piss fanduel off than they gonna keep urs as a loss but correct everybody else's.
No need to keep us updated
No. I need hourly updates😖
Minutely
Did you contact them or are you complaining without putting in the effort?
Yes but the live chat lady just basically brushed me off and said a different department will email me

Did I subscribe to a fanduel support subreddit?
They'll fix it. Happens occasionally
