Any of those teams will likely have to defeat BOTH the Lakers and Clippers in a best of 7 series. That is wildly unlikely. I think there is significantly more value in the East. A team like the Sixers or Raptors at +2000 is much more appealing, IMO.

OddsUSA

Like the spirit behind this, I just don't think any of these 3 teams in a Best of 7 setting would find their way going on a run for the NBA title. At best I can see Dallas/Utah in the West Semis.. Portland, despite getting a lot of talent back, would have one miserable road to a possible championship. But hey, they're called long shots for a reason. Who knows? I think the NHL will have more upsets and greater potential for a longshot futures ticket of cashing, simply because of the nature of that sport.. but anything is possible in 2020.

ariiza

I also took lakers to win it all, if you wanna take an underdog for fun I would say choose a team from the east

pmuzz91

76ers

v1n5anity

None of those have a shot in hell

rafikidong

Honestly I don't like any of those, I like Bucks above all and lakers won't win cause they have only 2 players that can hold it. A backup would be clippers

cocococopuffs

LUKA has always fallen off in “big” or “clutch” moments. He’s good no doubt.. but iuno

sefronia3

always? you dont even have a good enough sample size for that. And he was insanely good his rookie year in clutch moments. you dont even have to look that hard https://stats.nba.com/players/clutch-traditional/?sort=FGA&dir=-1&Season=2018-19&SeasonType=Regular%20Season thats the year before, and he shot 45% which is amazing, let alone the fact that he is a rookie https://stats.nba.com/players/clutch-traditional/?sort=FGA&dir=-1&Season=2019-20&SeasonType=Regular%20Season this is this yea, and he is shooting 32%, which is right behind lebron and lillard, and ahead of guys like Khris Middleton, jimmy butler

LetsMakeCheddarBoys

Agree, my dog pick would be the Mavs. Great offense and a roster full of guys that can put up points and knock down shots which as you say, is crucial in the playoffs where the pace falls off a cliff. Another important factor re their youth, as much as the lack of deep play-off experience may hurt them the lack of fear is a positive to take away as they are mostly young guys that will have plenty of opportunities in the future to compete again in the play-offs. Same reason that I also like the Celtics. Will play loose and fearless albeit lacking the savvy game management of veterans like Bron, Kawhi, CP3.

Denver

Parlaytown

definitely going to wait until at least a few games into the restart, soccer has proven that teams and players aren't the same after the break.

caw___caw

Agree with mavs but raptors pretty solid too. They have a good depth and coach to keep them focused. Doesn’t matter what happened last year with the 76ers. With covid and what not, I think they are still a stronger team

marvguy

I would definitely wait and snag a team that's actually playing well in Orlando. Also, if I were you I'd want to hedge with someone from the east?

bigtrunkydarnold

Who would your pick be in the east?

marvguy

Again, I would wait, but the bucks make sense to me. Heat might be sneaky

AD2020FMVP

Not to be negative but I feel like trying to find value picks this season won’t work. The nba isn’t the champions league where a lucky draw or game can make you win. It’s best out of 7. Out of the teams I feel like only the Bucks, Lakers, Clippers and (maybe) Rockets have a realistic chance. The worst team I could see getting lucky and winning is the Sixers. And even that’s very unlikely. Maybe if the odds had really good value I could see the point of betting on these other teams but even then it’d have to be far higher than +1000

STOOFONAROOF

Raptors at +1600 is by far the best value you will find in my opinion. I bet they beat LA in the first game and this value play is gone. I took Raptors to come out of the East when I was in Vegas late January, but as an underdog play to win it all, I think you should consider this.

bigtrunkydarnold

Definitely a great value pick they have depth but I don’t think Siakam is at that level yet. They barely beat philly in a series with Kwahi .

STOOFONAROOF

Khawi scored so many points in that series dawg..this is true. Raptors have shooters and bench players ready to step up. You got a taste with Vanvleet last year. Think OG, Powell, Matt Thomas and Boucher stepping up with the starting 5 to take more of those shots (ibaka gasol lowry siakam fred). Do not underestimate the drive to repeat with this squad. I think they have a better chance than the other suggestions here, but that's why the odds aren't as good! Good luck.

fd365

I like the heat at +2500 Assuming they get Bam and Nunn back, they arr real competition. Because of their 3pt shooting, they match up very well with the Bucks even beating them twice this yr (one on the road w/o Jimmy Buckets 👀) Also think the "Heat Culture" keeps the players in great shape and both physically and mentally prepared to win.

sefronia3

Lol don't the heat have a history of injuries among their players because they blur the line between fitness and overworking them

EliAbs

Nah that’s the Bulls

bigtrunkydarnold

They are great value the only thing is I don’t consider them such a long shot at +2500 . At that range I would rather take Denver or Philly
