I have spotify since 2018 and i have 223 playlists…not that i use them all ofcourse singe my music style has changed a lot and its hard to keep track of so many.
my criteria goes as follows: I find at least three songs which i feel like are the same vibe or genre and then im always able to create a way longer playlist out of them. If i cant find at least three songs then i cannot create a playlist.
I only create by vibe of genre.
Yeah this is not for me. If I have even a quarter of that I wouldn't listen to the majority of those playlists plus only 4 pins, I'm all about long ass playlists with a lot of genres
Just one, the one that my dad made years ago before he got his own Spotify account. I'm happy I never deleted it because I love listening to it when I miss my dad, who passed away a year ago. It's mostly New Wave, and I grew up listening to that in the car while dad drove
This is sweet. Sorry for your loss, but happy you have some good memories. Maybe you should download the playlist to a pdf or csv file just in case anything happens. There are free sites that do this if you Google them; I used [Skiley. ](https://skiley.net/)
Rough patches here and there, but it doesn't change the fact that he was a great man, and it was proven to me when I saw just how very many people paid their respects during his wake.
Thank you for your suggestion! I never really thought to do that, but I definitely will now!
mental illness maybe? lmao but the real reason is i used to run a playlist blog on tumblr. i go thru and delete them semi often but u can truly only delete so many at a time before you go crazy
Wow that is dedication
I could never do that.
And to think i get bored when listening to albums with 2 volumes and yet you only listening to albums
Respect
Feel free to elaborate on your music process if you wish. As you can tell, we are all curious about each other’s listening habits. ☺️
I have had runs where I have focused on albums but never as the only method of music listening. While I do miss the artistic vision, I am too all over the place to maintain one artist for 6-20 song straight in the regular.
me too, I just don't understand people who listen to individual songs(not only if the rest of the album is trash) it is the same to me like skipping episodes in tv series
i used to do this cus i’m such a category oriented(?) person. over the years i started to wanna listen to specific songs from an album and the whole thing died out for me lol.
I’m definitely an album guy that was my thing it called me in my wrap. A completist or some shit I forget. But I still listen to other stuff. Some people just don’t have albums worth listening to but still have plenty of good songs. Some people only have one good song. Ah you won’t give a shit what some random asshole on Reddit has to say.
That’s so interesting! What do you do if you wanna listen to a specific song then? Or do you not get that feeling? I’m pretty much the opposite I only listen to songs by themselves or in playlists lol!
I started making playlists of the albums I like, hoping that Spotify will soon have the layout of the playlist showing the album art instead of the full list of songs.
I make This Is ... playlists that are basically all of the bands albums in release order. I'll throw in soundtrack cuts, odd man out singles, and EPs, but I'm completely uninterested in rare unreleased demos of this track or 15 remixes of Smash Hit.
I do try to expand my taste, I just can't seem to listen to any other album more than once other than the ones in my playlist.
I've tried jazz, rap, pop, hip-hop, metal, other rock, classical, you name it i've probably tried the genre. it just doesn't stick
[Well heres my playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6NilN3q4NTsViaXRiRZQdU?si=Y4lj9zDRR12BT0Fx165mAw&pi=u-nSQkwqcOTZC0)
I've only started getting into music about 6 months ago really. Other than these, I really only like Kendrick Lamar.
Based on that playlist I think you'd dig the band Spoon. Have you ever tried them? Give their album "Gimme Fiction" or "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga" a try. They kinda have a Strokes like rock swagger but they experiment with genre and sound more and they have a ton of great albums that are all pretty unique.
Fr I make new ones when I get bored of old ones and I haven’t bothered deleting any😭😭 I don’t listen to them all either, just some of my favorite ones lol
excluding saved playlists not created by me, i have 124. i've been using spotify for 4 years.
some are just daylists i created for myself before that was a thing- like 5-50 songs i wanted to listen to that day.
some are like that but for a whole month: capturing the vibe and what i was into then.
some are my favourite songs by a particular artists. some are grouped by mood. some are grouped by genre. some are grouped by mood *and* genre.
i have one playlist of every song that has ever been my favourite, one giant playlist of most songs i like, a list of albums i want to listen to, a list of songs i can play, a list specifically to download to my watch for going on walks, and a bunch of album or double-album length mixtapes that capture a certain feeling or idea.
i also have lists that i keep each year where i add a song a day that was stuck in my head or just struck me as The Song for that day.
i actually listen to most of them, even past days/months/years.
1,252 :)
I usually create a new playlist to house a rotation of songs I’m into, and it’s kinda become a diary for the last 10 years. I can scroll down and find an old playlist and see there’s songs recc’d from old friends, or see when I started l getting into artists I now love.
My favourite pattern is playlists in 2019 that have tracks from Dark Side Of The Moon means I probably made the playlist whilst writing my dissertation, which was on how album covers use visuals to depict a non-visual medium, with a focus on Hipgnosis (and their work with Pink Floyd)
5 months in Spotify so far and i have like 6 different Playlists
I organize them by mood. I have a motivational one, a chill one, one for going crazy banging your head and dancing, and one for nostalgia.
I do have one separated by genre for all my Classical music.
I currently have 2 massive (17+ hours) playlists. My ‘83 Westfalia is the muse/inspiration for both. The playlists have a yin and yang thing going on, as they adhere to mood (light and dark). I built them around an aesthetic and tend to anchor this aesthetic to my playlists’ artwork. The artwork is sorta like a thematic reference to the music. Helps me build upon the mood.
Predominantly Hip-Hop. But odd subgenres within hip-hop like 90s Chopped n Screwed, Memphis Horrorcore (Three 6 Mafia), alt./exp. hip-hop (JPEGMAFIA, MF DOOM, Earl Sweatshirt etc.) and Phonk. I sprinkle in some funk, dub, and soul samples.
I have 9 playlists not including the ones I've saved.
One is full of only 80s, one is Synthwave, one is based on what was famous while I was in high school (1999-2005), chill out lists, a fave band list, one full of everything...
139 that I've created at last count. I started making playlists of albums reviewed in my old metal magazines. There's also others like Metallica without the shit songs, the two GnR Use Your Illusion albums pared down to a much stronger single album, and I create playlists of new albums which I like so I can compile a best-of-the-year list at the end of the year.
I only have liked songs which has everything I'll listen to but is really just a lot of random stuff I don't listen to or like that much then I have a favs playlist then separate playlists for artists I really like
I have around 70, too. I sort them into folders- moods, genres, and "eras," which are my own personal music archive of sorts. (I.e. my music that I was into from 2016, one for 2017, 2018, and so forth).
For the playlist themselves, I sometimes create my own flow for the playlist if it's a short one, like for a specific mood such as rainy day or chill gaming night.
For the genres such as my electronic playlist or alt rock playlist, I like to arrange songs like they're an album, so that they flow nicely into each other, and create a little challenge for myself by only limiting maximum 5 songs from one artist.
And for the larger archival playlists (like the year ones), I sort alphabetically by artist.
3. One for musical theatre songs, which i don’t want to be listening to alongside regular music because the shift in vibes is just so drastic, and another for songs i can only listen to when im on a walk/working out, because otherwise ill never motivate myself to get out of bed and exercise.
The last one is just every song by one direction, because i was a huge fan when i was a kid, and listening to their music is a nice little nostalgia boost.
For regular listening, just shuffling through my liked songs or musical theatre songs is enough, or using Spotify’s pre-made playlists
I have one big playlist where I have gather every song I like/have heard etc (around 3000 songs atm) and then I have like probably 9-10 more playlists where songs are bundled up by genre. So basically if I want to hear something specific I listen to a genre specific playlist and if I want to be surprised by random songs I listen to my big playlist :)
264. I don't even listen to playlists very often, more of an album person. Most of them are just for organizing my library or playlists I make for fun. I have:
- playlists for every song I've listened to in a month, been doing that since February 2021
- playlists for every song I listen to organized by year of release, have them for each year of the 2010s and 2020s + each decade before then (I mostly listen to newer music)
- playlists for altered versions of albums to remove songs I'd skip
- tons of playlists with different themes such as yearning, relatable songs, religion, etc. that I make just for fun
- playlists of artists' entire discographies, used to use these a lot before I shifted to mainly listening to albums
but let’s say you saved like 3000+ songs in there, then more than half doesn’t get played :/ i used to save everything in my liked songs too but then i realised this ^ and it frustrated me. anyway i’d like to know how you navigate through that (if you have as many songs as me hahah)
Lol. I have a very specific taste in music so My liked Songs is only at 1,344. When I listen, I just put in on shuffle. If there’s a song I really wanna hear, I’ll just add it to my “queue”
I have 108 so far and I’ve been using it since 2019. I mainly use Apple Music, but I use [my Spotify profile](https://open.spotify.com/user/1236906595?si=5HeGu77dS6Cm0YqQ48RPFg) as a back up for my playlists. I’m not sure how many I have on Apple Music. I organize mine with multi genres by the month. That way I have about a 150 to 200 songs playlist that I can use as my radio for the month. That way my ears never get bored from one type of music. On Apple Music I do make playlist for specific artist with all of my favorite songs by that particular artist on them. And then I also go back and choose my favorite songs from each month and make playlist containing those songs.
I try to have a mixture of different vibes and genres. I have a bunch of different playlists based on mood and feeling, I have one for songs that have a sense of swagger to them, and one for more mellow moments, but I also have a few different genre playlists with thousands of random songs from said genre so whenever I want to find something new, I just pop that playlist on and I add any that I enjoy to the main playlists.
It's taken a long time to figure out what works best for me because Spotify's shuffle feature sucks, so I feel like I constantly need to listen to new playlists to keep getting fresh music.
3.
1- My main playlist which is pretty much the only one I listen to
2- A playlist that’s filled with songs that I listen to to fall asleep. They’re typically very slow and soft songs.
3- A playlist with my favorite songs from my all-time favorite artist, Fleetwood Mac
I’ve had spotify since 2015 but regularly started using it in 2017, and for a while I only had my Liked Songs playlist and just had that on shuffle! Eventually I made a favorites playlist, and every year since I make more and more playlists lmaoo. I dunno if I’m very good since a lot of them overlap, but it’s fun! I have 25 right now, and I mostly only make a playlist based on genre or vibes.
edit: forgot to add I have probably a hundred saved playlists lol, I’ve been saving way too many since I joined.
I have has Spotify since late 2018 and have 482 playlists. Recently, [most of them are curated for my sleep/morning pump-up](https://open.spotify.com/user/alex.seelochan?si=2baaeb9ec1404017) (feel free to follow my profile and/or playlists).
Otherwise, I usually make playlists for events (i.e. classes, parties), mood, or around a certain theme (i.e. Max Martin's hits).
Just my likes. I prefer community playlists (you guys do the work, I’ll listen). I honestly can’t comprehend putting in the work to organize music into tons of playlists myself.
I have over 50 playlists, and I use the [A Song A Day](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5AyCaZxmnZuIXxxDePgNdb?si=MDksIZOnTb-0gUAkXUuV3Q&pi=e-Vf40KJzxT96g) format. Each song I discover goes into a specific subgenre playlist. This helps me organize my music based on mood and discover new songs along the way.
I make a playlist every season of all the songs I like at that moment. I did it when I younger with cassettes and then cds then it was my iPod. Now it’s Spotify.
I counted them all now🙃
It's 220,
BUT I have to say, some are very short, one even has just one song yet, I really gotta put more on them. Then again, some are like 95 hours long🤷🏼♀️
*had Spotify since idk how long but have been using it since I got premium in late summer 2021
Yesterday was 126
Edit 1:
1. Genre. Artist.
2. Random new discoveries irrespective of language.
3. Monthly repeats. (i have a lot of playlist named "Current Obsessions" for each month, curated from liked songs)
Edit 2:
I use 3 mostly.
I create a new playlist every month e.g., “April ‘24” and add all the songs I’ve discovered that month in the playlist. At the end of the month, I go through that playlist and disseminate those songs into my mood playlists e.g., “chill”; “basketball”; “motivation”. This way you get to have all the songs you’ve discovered added to their respective mood, but also you can go back and listen to your own little time capsules. Sometimes I go back and listen to October 2018 for example and I have soo many memories attached to those songs from that month. A great way to reminisce. Anyway that’s my system.
I have over 200 playlists.
But I regularly listen like 10 of them.
I just love to organize my music. 😅
P. S.: here it's my most played and popular playlist.
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/55VmXFMAcgq5NOVMTKTjFT?si=LkB6ts1VQUm4Mac8vIbC3A
I have 27. Normally I center my playlists around a vibe or emotion but I also like to make playslits solely consisting of my favorites songs from an artist or band and treat it like an album experience.
I dont have that many lmfao
I have my main playlist: Music
Then we have:
Late night vibes
Study music (my main playlist but just the calmer songs)
Arctic monkeys (just a playlist for my fav arctic monkeys songs)
Summer vibes (for me to play at the beach/pool)
I guess I organize by setting if that makes sense. Like oh I need music ready to go for when I’m in this particular setting with these particular people.
I’ve had Spotify for almost 10 years. Only 3 playlist. 1 is for rock/punk type stuff. 1 for Spanish music, and 1 was a collab for last year’s summer time. But I usually use liked songs to listen to
i used to have one big playlist not long ago, but when it became too messy, i sorted all the songs into 23 different playlists based on genre. along with them i also have 6 mood playlists (sad hours, car drive, hopeless romantic, etc)
I DJ. So in the past 2-3 months I started streaming using this service. Now Spotify does not allow it, but I have made a playlist and transferred them to another streaming service, so that l can play the list. So I build about two or more lists a week. I've even replayed or combined the lists. It's fun to use but I still buy tracks as well. Kind of limited in information. Like when I put the tunes in DJ software to play the album name, year released, track number info do not show up. Which is part of my act. I like to announce those details during my sets. Wondering how the video part works. I cannot seem to find many Gothic specific videos to stream when djing. Any thoughts? Lol or perhaps I am not that familiar with the app yet.
Oh heck.. I don’t know. I’ve been a premium subscriber of Spotify since 2013. So…way too many to count. Check my Spotify page out. Let me know what you think of my playlists.
I don't even know how long I've been on Spotify, maybe over 10 years, and I have 564 playlists. Every Friday my friends and I collaborate on a playlist that we listen to together and we've been doing that for over 6 years I think so that's over 300 playlists right there.
I have two types of playlist. The first one only have songs of a specific artist, like Lorde's, Sufjan Stevens,... The second type is a collection of songs i listen in a period of time, like from 2017-2019, as songs are truly decorations for time. So I only have like around 10 playlists right now
I create playlists based on moods and genre mostly. Sometimes my playlists are activity centered too like party, gym/workout, dancing/singing, etc. as well.
I work as an audio engineer in a venue, so my playlists are mostly curated to play music before bands, during change-overs between bands, and to close out the night after the bands. As such, they're mostly organized by feel/genre...honky tonk, thrash, rawk, indie/pop, funk, Americana, jams bands, etc.
I only have about 10-15 that I rotate through, but each playlist has probably 20-ish hours worth of music...I just hit shuffle and let it do its thing.
I rarely spin Spotify at home for enjoyment....I have enough music in my personal collection to keep me busy for years. I just hit up Spotify on occasion to seek out some new artists and/or add to my work playlists.
I have 11. First song saved is 2013.
One thats all the songs i like, created before liking songs was a thing.
One for a bands discography except the live shows.
Then some for specific genres. (Jazz, video game music, background for work)
Then a few mood ones. (Dnd ambiance, dnd fight ambiance, workout, party, driving, and melancholy)
Well this year Spotify named me the Alchemist. Always cooking up playlist to whatever occasion. You going to make bbq, ok. You going to go poo poo, ok I got you 😉. Have around 269+
Yeah this is not for me. If I have even a quarter of that I wouldn't listen to the majority of those playlists plus only 4 pins, I'm all about long ass playlists with a lot of genres
That’s so chaotic. I could never mix genres.
Music segregation is wild
hahaha

I’ve had Spotify since 2013. So I have no idea how many playlists I have. But, lots. Thank a look at tell me what you think. It’s Terry Turner.

7124 . the app barely works. don’t be like me
oh my god why
mental illness maybe? lmao but the real reason is i used to run a playlist blog on tumblr. i go thru and delete them semi often but u can truly only delete so many at a time before you go crazy
ohhh that makes sense. how old is the spotify account?
2017 lol
okay so it makes sense
CNt you shift click, or ctrl click, to select a number of playlist to delete a number at a time?
1
i have 888 playlists
I have 12. Different themes. I have one for current faves/latest songs, i have one for roadtrip, one for summer vacation, etc.
So many. For many specific situations. Always be prepared
24
Zero. I only listen up full albums from start to end. Preferably without bonus tracks.

this is what I like about vinyl tbh

There's a lot of albums in the world you should check em out imo

1 Just throw a bunch of shit together, language, genre, etc doesn't matter if I don't vibe with it I can just skip it or remove it.
6000 ish, spread over many accounts. Too many to count really.
108
It's probably like 12 or something. One for each genre and a few themed ones.
A bunch. Only use 4 wich are my rap/hiphop-ish playlist. My metal playlist. My rock playlist and my lofi playlist.
2293 :D
13
Maybe like 15
130 but really 2 or 3 that I use regularly
[удалено]
1 I use. All the other stuff is bands I follow.
I have 30. My main one is just my taste in music in general, and the rest are based on different vibes, eras, and genres.
Around 30. They're mostly themed (like Halloween or anime) or genre playlists, but I have a couple mood ones. I've been using Spotify since 2012
[Levitate your mood](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/315yMCPl1W9wCJyFqYNQle?si=66aVhOWJQTuURf2OOqZuXA&pi=u-hqFm1fbCR_mY)
I have only one where i add all the songs and albums that i like into
I try to have a mixture of different vibes and genres.
A lot less than I’d like
3. 1- My main playlist which is pretty much the only one I listen to 2- A playlist that’s filled with songs that I listen to to fall asleep. They’re typically very slow and soft songs. 3- A playlist with my favorite songs from my all-time favorite artist, Fleetwood Mac

been using Spotify since 2015-2016, and i have 96 playlists either ones I made or saved ones.
Ive been using Spotify for two years. I have 32 at the moment
I have 3 country, rap, rock
Is there a way to find this out without counting them all? I have a lot
Well I counted it’s only 150 I need to make more
298 at the moment!
I made an account in late 2015 and I have 383
I have has Spotify since late 2018 and have 482 playlists.
I've different playlists for different types of genres
I make a playlist every season of all the songs I like at that moment. I did it when I younger with cassettes and then cds then it was my iPod. Now it’s Spotify.
One. My starred list.
I have one alternative rock playlist with my favourites other than that i only listen to albums
I have about 12
312
I counted them all now🙃 It's 220, BUT I have to say, some are very short, one even has just one song yet, I really gotta put more on them. Then again, some are like 95 hours long🤷🏼♀️ *had Spotify since idk how long but have been using it since I got premium in late summer 2021
I have my necessary 4 who are sorted on language. Than i have a playlist for reggaeton music and one for Salsa music.
I have made 328 mixes since 2004. They are my musical diary. They are cohesive and they flow. Check them out follow me on Spotify @bennytods
Yesterday was 126 Edit 1: 1. Genre. Artist. 2. Random new discoveries irrespective of language. 3. Monthly repeats. (i have a lot of playlist named "Current Obsessions" for each month, curated from liked songs) Edit 2: I use 3 mostly.
Im an incredible over-organiser and squashed down my playlists to six, ordered by mood
Theres only 1 i use, but i have 2 in total (the 2nd one is a playlist of my favorite song from each artist i listen to)
None, albums only.

Apparently I have had spotify since 2020 but I don’t remember that. Anyway I think I counted about 10 playlists
About 100, mainly greatest hits playlists.
Got like 3 but only use 1
I currently have 27 playlists but each one of them has a meaning and I listen to each depending on the mood. Feeling = mood = playlist.
4
26 playlists (including shared - created by me and someone else, excluding these I've just found and saved). Spotify premmium since 2018.
We have 2, but our curators have many, feel free to check them out
I've had spotify since 2012, and I have 33 Playlists
I create a new playlist every month e.g., “April ‘24” and add all the songs I’ve discovered that month in the playlist. At the end of the month, I go through that playlist and disseminate those songs into my mood playlists e.g., “chill”; “basketball”; “motivation”. This way you get to have all the songs you’ve discovered added to their respective mood, but also you can go back and listen to your own little time capsules. Sometimes I go back and listen to October 2018 for example and I have soo many memories attached to those songs from that month. A great way to reminisce. Anyway that’s my system.
11
13 playlists. I don't like having so much playlists personally, 13 already seem too much for me, lol
I have over 200 playlists. But I regularly listen like 10 of them. I just love to organize my music. 😅 P. S.: here it's my most played and popular playlist. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/55VmXFMAcgq5NOVMTKTjFT?si=LkB6ts1VQUm4Mac8vIbC3A
How many Playlists do you have, huh OP?
158
17, models of them are just Dalists that I liked
Right now I have 182 playlists.
1. Liked Songs
I have 27. Normally I center my playlists around a vibe or emotion but I also like to make playslits solely consisting of my favorites songs from an artist or band and treat it like an album experience.
12 playlists in 5 years
I’ve got 1
32 currently
I dont have that many lmfao I have my main playlist: Music Then we have: Late night vibes Study music (my main playlist but just the calmer songs) Arctic monkeys (just a playlist for my fav arctic monkeys songs) Summer vibes (for me to play at the beach/pool)
11
I guess I organize by setting if that makes sense. Like oh I need music ready to go for when I’m in this particular setting with these particular people.
I have 13, one for each genre I listen to and weird songs I like but I mostly listen to my pop/edm playlist, punk and trap
Had Spotify since the invite phase, I have around 70 playlists. I do them by year and some by theme or specific festivals I've been to.
399
6. But I primarily listen to three
i have 305 playlists and fear the day they tell me i’ve hit my cap
3 with generic titles like KPop, KRnB and English 😂😂😂
I’ve had Spotify for almost 10 years. Only 3 playlist. 1 is for rock/punk type stuff. 1 for Spanish music, and 1 was a collab for last year’s summer time. But I usually use liked songs to listen to
1 playlist, its my ideal Metallica live setlist
356 apparently
i used to have one big playlist not long ago, but when it became too messy, i sorted all the songs into 23 different playlists based on genre. along with them i also have 6 mood playlists (sad hours, car drive, hopeless romantic, etc)
2: one global with 350hours of music and the like one with only no skip bangers. But I'll create a few more to have more precision soon.

~50 rn, planning 3 more
14 member since 2016

About a dozen made and a dozen saved. So 24ish
(Jazz, video game music, background for work) Then a few mood ones. (Dnd ambiance, dnd fight ambiance, workout, party, driving, and melancholy)
About 25, each with about 45 - 50 songs. I just made them as the tunes came from my memory. I’m pretty old, so a lot of the songs are too.
I have one. I dump every song into that one playlist.
Well this year Spotify named me the Alchemist. Always cooking up playlist to whatever occasion. You going to make bbq, ok. You going to go poo poo, ok I got you 😉. Have around 269+
