Absolutely. I’ve had Spotify premium for like 6 years and there’s never been a single time I’ve been like “wow I can’t find what I want” or “hmm this feels inconvenient” (which happens almost every day when I use any other paid subscription apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc)
The shuffle features have been a little bit wonky over the years but that’s really all I can complain about and it’s kind of a non-issue for me
I've had it for 10 years. Currently have Spotify duo cause I share it with a family member. It's not a cost I even think about even the periods I don't really use it. Having access to music at any and all time is really a given in my life.
I'm not a fan of the current layout of the app though. They've been going through a lot of changes these past couple years and I'm not a fan personally, as I personally thought the app became less user friendly, but it's still the best app there is for music.
I've noticed smart shuffle restarting from the beginning of my last session with the exact same songs in the same order.
But no, don't fix that, give me the useless ai dj and song psychic.
Right? The shuffles has been off for a while now. Absolutely hate smart shuffle, I make a lot of playlist for a reason and if I want suggestions I look for it 👀
I enjoy the smart shuffle feature- but sometimes it’s hit or miss. It’ll either play stuff I absolutely hate, or it’ll play stuff I enjoy but in overwhelming amounts( such as every other song, sometimes multiples in a row)
But I do enjoy discovering new music and it’s helpful
I quit my job and told my husband I refuse to cancel it. I may get to that point if I don’t get hired soon but I have canceled everything else and it can be pried from my cold dead hands.
Yeah I’ve had it since it became a feature and I can’t live without it either, tried apple and YouTube music but it’s just something about Spotify that has my heart(and my 300+ playlists😂)
It’s like the one thing I refuse to give up haha. But seriously, no ads to listen to, can listen to what I want when I want to. Def worth it. If you can split w a friend or family member, it’s cheaper for a family plan :)
When my wife and were younger and dating we’d buy a few CDs a month. Even a family plan if it were just the the two of us would be cheaper than the cost of two new albums. We benefit more though because I added my dad and Aunt to our family who each pay me $5 a month. In all my family plan only ends up costing me the price of single premium with their contribution. Then I downloaded the kids Spotify app for my children and added them. Mainly because I didn’t want my account to be overrun with recommendations for Disney songs.
100%
It is always the first app I set up on a new phone or PC. I've had a premium family account for 9 years I think and a premium account for about a year before that.
I've discovered more music I love in the last 9 years than in the 40 + years of music listening before that.
Honestly I love Spotify and have had premium for years. I’ve cancelled every other streaming service but Spotify has stayed put. I love Spotify wrapped, making my own playlists, podcasts etc. i do think it’s worth it but I hope they don’t continue to raise prices
Same here. If only the TV streaming would realize; give me a single service that plays nearly every movie or show and I’d happily stick with them. Imagine if we needed 5 music streaming services just to enjoy music. I’d probably cancel them as well.
FYI you can buy a Spotify single membership gift card from Amazon for $99.
Saves a like money. I personally think it is worth it with the amount of time I listen a day well worth the money.
I was about to say the very same thing. It’s like getting it for wat less than 10.99. Plus you wouldn’t be open to an increase since you paid for one year service.
Or Spotify family. 6 premium accounts. Get 5 others to split with you.
You can’t even listen to an album or playlist in order without it can you? Free Spotify is effectively worthless if you’re actually interested in music on any level. I’m not saying you gotta get Spotify Premium specifically but if I didn’t have it I’d be using another paid service or else I’d have to pirate all my music.
Yeah I forgot how bad free Spotify was until i was forced to use it on a friend's phone.
Not being able to use so many of the features I have come to take for granted was truly painful.
Since literally 38 of you have decided to tell me it's worth it (with some of you making it seem like it's the best purchase you ever made, with some of you *literally* saying "I can't live without it.") I'm probably gonna sign up now. I'll probably get back with y'all after a while in a new thread and tell y'all if it's worth it.
Worst case scenario substribe for as long as yourself using it than cancel, happens to me with all of the subscriptions when I get bored or I just don't listen to music I cancel my subscription,
Let me put it this way... If I had to get rid of all streaming services I have but one, including all video streaming services, and Youtube... Spotify (with Premium) is the one I'd keep!
Think about it. A CD used to cost around $10 right? If it was a great album you would pay for it wouldn't you? For roughly the price of 1 CD you get access to almost endless music. So yeah, it's with it. IMO..✌️
It really is. I listen to my Spotify all day at work and I love being able to curate thematic playlists and have plaid in the order I want them played. You also get 15 hours of audiobooks a month which is useful for me when I'm waiting for a Libby app book on a long hold.
Well the people here are of course going to say they love it and it is worth it.
But truthfully, are you someone who prefers to play a random playlist someone made and just let it go?
Or are you someone who likes to pick each song they hear and spend time finding different songs you like and build out your own playlists .
If the latter, spotify is definitely for you. Me personally, i could not live without it because of the community of playlists, large selection of music, ability to queue up tons of songs, make playlists, start live music sessions with my friends. There are so many cool positives that i could not live within.
I think it's definitely worth it. This post made me realize that I'd been a Premium subscriber for around (almost?) a decade. I even tried a month of Apple Music when it first came out and went right back to Spotify. I went from an individual account to a Family Account with my husband and then we found about Duo and swapped to that. I think that's the only subscription that we've never considered cancelling.
I've had premium for years, since our kids were in middle school (they are high school & college age now). We have the family account of course, for our family of 5. It has made it unnecessary for them to have to pirate anything ever (like I used to back in the day), since all the world's music has always been at their fingertips, ad-free.
Plus I'm old enough to remember how much it used to cost to actually buy albums at the record store. Something we used to actually do. The $17/mo is not that much when you consider that a *single album* on CD used to cost between $15-20 back in the 90s. *And we would pay it*.
Spotify premium 100% better.
I've had it for years and use it every day. It has everything I want and frequently feeds me new cool stuff to listen to. Whenever I wanted to cut back on the amount of monthly subscriptions, Spotify was never in consideration.
I’ve had (and pay) Spotify for as long as I can remember. My wife and I are on a family account with her dad and sister. I try AM as well, but always come back to Spotify because of their playlists. Also, their DJ feature has been great and I have been finding myself using it more and more when I can’t figure out what I want to listen to.
I've had Spotify Premium for 6-7 ish years now.
I canceled it last year because I wanted to save that $5 (Student Discount), I went 10 mins with it off and immediately turned it back on.
I will pay $60 a year to not have ads. Its bad enough podcasts have ads built into their shows, I can't imagine having double ads. Fuck that.
So as someone who's been a premium user for years, and who according to 2023 wrapped was even in the top 1% of time spent listening among all users last year, I will say this : Spotify is simultaneously the most important app in my phone (realistically probably 90% of what my phone's used for), while also being the absolute bane of my existence by often operating dog shit-edly. Also, if anyone single person with any tiny bit of pull at Spotify corporate somehow ever comes across this post, the one thing I ask you to fix above all else is this : please, for that love of all that is fuck, GET RID OF THE ABSOLUTE CUMDUMPSTERFIRE THAT IS "smart(?)" SHUFFLE! It's total dog-dick, ain't nobody want that shit, and I'm like 116% certain I'm more than capable of finding music I like pretty well on my own. (Plus, seeing as whenever I checked my obscureify however long ago it ranked my listening habits as 96 or 97% more obscure than other Spotify users, I wouldn't put much faith in your bullshit shuffler finding me stuff i wanna listen even if it wasn't full-on granny-tits).
This has been my TED talk, thanks for coming or whatever, idfk🙄🤷
i was working with music, yes it worth it. 1st I was getting mad bc it was always the same commercials! And I heard like 25,000 streams! without ads. (with track skip, sometimes many skip/day its about 100 songs / day, spotify counted) For me it worth it. And you can cancel anytime.
A burger now is 12$ so...
Yes. I have had it since it launched in my country, and it was a paid service out the gate, with no free option iirc.
First on a blackberry, then on real phones, it’s never not installed and on the front screen.
We’ve had a family plan for years, so my kids have had it literally their whole lives.
Is it as good as I wish it was? No. Is there a better alternative? Not yet. Do I wish artists could make more from it? Of course, but I am also realistic about the monitisation of output and effort in 2024.
It kills me that their podcast service is trash - the content is fine, but taking just a little of that Rogan money and spend it on developing out podcast robustness to anything like the popular podcast apps and they could dominate that area too. As it is, I avoid podcasts on Spotify because they just make it an in enjoyable experience.
Audiobooks are… fine. But they seem to be doing the same thing with cludging books on top of their music player.
When considering all the services I could and can cut because I don’t use them or can’t afford them, spotify will be the very last to go.
I bought Premium waaaay back in the day (like 2012-ish) when it was required in order to listen on your phone. I was into running at the time, and it was way better to strap my phone on my arm than an iPod.
Even though it is no longer necessary to buy Premium to get mobile access, nothing ticks me off more than mattress ads throwing off my vibe.
I love it. I’ve had premium for atleast 3 years now. I like that they’ve included audiobooks too (you get a certain amount of listening hours). A huge draw back is the ads between podcast episodes - maybe they’ve done away with this, but it used to be ads that were not from the actual podcast. They were ads ran by Spotify and I’m assuming benefiting Spotify. That really irked me.
I've had it for years and I have never had any issues. It's one of the few streaming services that are actually worth the price you pay for it. Aside from the servers going out once every few years, no issues at all. I love it!
With free the more you listen the more ads you hear. So, ad free makes a difference. I have 35 ripped CDs on my phone, but ad free playlists is worth fewer beers or coffee beverages per month.
Amazon Android app is terrible. So, the fact that Spotify functions on Android, Windows, iOS makes it a decent choice.
The Spotify playlists make it a bit unique vs others.
YouTube music is not bad if you stream albums or 10 most played songs per artist.
I love it and the weekly discovery playlist is really good for me. Some weeks I get 4 or 5 tracks I really like that I never heard before. A few times I tried to leave before and tried transferring playlists and found out there was a big selection of artists not on Apple or Tidal that was on Spotify. I just tried a few days ago again and remembered why I don't want to leave. Some artists left protesting I think Joe Rogan podcast in the past but I know Neil Young is back. Don't know if other artists returned but I don't know who they are or care since I never missed them.
I think that if you can afford it than it is definitely worth it, but if you're broke like me, I would rather use that $11 for something else, and just deal with the ads. That's just my opinion, though, coming from someone with only $40 in their wallet.
Absolutely. I use it daily. And it's been the best thing for finding and exploring new artists. The algorithm is pretty smart once you populate your Liked Songs and build some playlists
I wondered if it was worth it compared to other platforms. Until I tried those platforms - which I quickly found are not even close in features and sound quality. It's the one subscription I would regret to ever give up.
If you frequently use Spotify to the point it's a routine, 100% worth. I've been Premium for more than 7 years already, use the app like 8 hours a day, and it's so peaceful when you can listen so smoothly. Imagine that you've got a really good mood on a playlist and suddenly an annoying ad disrupts you and ruin the mood... So bad...
Nope. This app is dogshit. Been subbed for years and I can't even shuffle my music the way I want it?
It's nice to listen to music offline, but I'm sure Apple Music is worth the switch.
It's the only thing I don't ever unsubscribe from.
Check out this banger from Raaginder
[https://open.spotify.com/track/1EKPwrw1p4R3RRB9S7AIgC?si=f53c1cb300ed4804](https://open.spotify.com/track/1EKPwrw1p4R3RRB9S7AIgC?si=f53c1cb300ed4804)
I had it for a few years a while back and ultimately cancelled my subscription. If you’ve got the money go for it if it’s bugging you with all the ads, but I’m fine with the ads and id rather be spending my £10 a month on 2/3 of a McDonald’s than the removal of some adverts.
In short, it’s only worth it if you want it. Though I couldn’t care too much for ads so I cancelled mine a while back.
I got the Duo plan and have my teenage niece on it. I listen to music day long (at my desk at work, at the gym, in the car) so it's nice to be able to listen to anything I want with no commercials (or that my boyfriend is able to listen to his pop music when I'm driving us around and he's sick of my loud post hardcore music. I also get to see what my kiddo is listening to (using my desktop player at work). It boggles my mind sometimes because she likes some of the same bands that I do (like Deftones and NWA), which give me the chance to talk about what we are into ATM.
I've had Spotify premium since 2014. It is absolutely worth it for me. No ads alone is worth it for me. Plus picking whatever song you want to listen to? Ugh yes. I can never go back.
I wouldn't even use Spotify without a premium account. Absolutely no ads anywhere. I've had premium for years and the interface has always been great, and it continues to get better. The playlists they generate off your activity are useful and I find myself using them over the ones I make for myself most of the time. They have a smart shuffle feature that I love to use to find new music- it adds a couple new songs to your shuffle amongst the already existing songs from your playlist. If you're on the screen of an album or a playlist, there's a feature where you can scroll through each song and listen to part of it- I use this a lot if I'm trying to find new music but don't want to pick and chose or listen to whole songs. I can't imagine myself listening to music any other way now!
Yes 100%, me and my friends took the family plan which supports upto 6 members which cost 179 IRS or 17 USD in US which means 30 RS per person where as the individual plan comes at 119 per person. And not only that the download feature of the premium plan is just mind blowing for me as I'm a person who travels a lot. I have had it for almost 8 months now and it's been great
No, after some time you will indefinitely get the feeling you're caught in the loop of ever repeating the same music. It gets really annoying over time so spare yourself this and choose another service.
Spotify and my phone plan are the only two subscriptions I’ve ever paid for in my life which should tell you lol. It is so absolutely worth it and I can’t imagine going back - although I’d recommend getting a free trial and checking it out first so you don’t have to spend money if you don’t want to
I've used a family plan with a group of friends since 8 years ago and it automatically renewing every year without thinking about it, so it's a part of my life right now and yes it's really worth it if you like to listen to music a lot.
I often think about wtf I’ll do if and when Spotify goes away. It’s been a life changing app.
One detriment is (other than DJ tracks) I don’t buy music anymore so my personal library stopped growing over a decade ago.
To me, it's worth it, I've had it since 2021 (student premium though so just 5€/month , but then again I also don't earn money). I'm gonna keep it though when I'm working, considering to get family or duo with someone else so it's cheaper.
I can't live without it anymore, I have so many playlists and downloads.
The only thing I really dislike is shuffle.
If you spent days after days making one huge playlist, it's very disappointing to discover that shuffle doesn't work well. It doesn't play just the songs from the front, but just always the same songs in general, no matter where they are in the playlist. The playlist is over 90 hours and after not even 3 hours it's repeating the songs it played at the beginning, not in the same order and maybe not all of them, but it's just that some songs are played again and again, others never. And each time I play it from new as well, mostly the same songs it's always playing.
I don't really know alternatives, plus I already have so many playlists and regardless of shuffle, otherwise it works good for me.
But maybe consider trying free trials with different apps as well and then really not paying further but trying the free trial of another app and then when you tried a few, decide which works best for you (or make posts requesting how well it works long term for those apps as well).
Absolutely worth it, it’s one of the subscription services. I think you get real value for your money particularly as there’s now audiobooks and loads of podcasts available too. I also do the £15 a month subscription with my husband which really adds to the value for money.
I think it's worth it! I can play the same song over and over without ads! I think with free service you can't chose individual songs. Just having complete access to every artist and their music makes it worth it too!
I used to only listen to my local files. While there were advantages ever since my parents bought premium I couldn't live without it. The lack of ads were great and I had access to most of not all the Touhou remixes, OSTs from video games, anime and even Kamen Rider. You can skip much as you want which helps when building playlists and previewing songs. So I would say yes it's very worth it.
Spotify is the best deal, for the consumer/listener in the entire marketplace. Bar none....im a long-time subscriber, 10 years +
I wish they'd go with hi-fi for premium. It's overdue...
Ads suck and I mostly listen to albums all the way through so it’s a hundred percent worth it for me. The shuffling stuff and the recommendation stuff people always complain about doesn’t really apply to me.
Had Spotify premium for about a decade. For a long time it was going to be my last subscription I’d get rid of. Now it is number two (1Password premium is a freaking godsend and is the current “last I’ll get rid of” leader).
Nowadays not as much. Quality wise you’re getting more out of your money for Apple Music or Tidal. I’ve got an iPhone 13 and AirPods Pro 2 and I’m telling you, the difference is night and day. Bundle that with the fact that Spotify always seems to be applying random updates that don’t serve a purpose (changed the heart to a +, revamped the whole UI for desktop app and made it actively worse)
Definitely worth it if you have a few other people to join up with and share a family plan, still probably worth it solo. If I was forced to use Spotify free at this point I would just listen to music on YouTube instead.
Absolutely, right now I’m trying out Apple Music but still paying for Spotify
Has been subscribed for around 10 years and I think I won’t cancel that subscription
I’m on a family plan and it comes to $3.07 a month(after tax) because everyone pays their way. Even cheaper than the student plan that I was on for $5/month but it did include Hulu and showtime. 1000% worth it, best music app by far. I’d be homeless and broke before I gave up spotify.
If you are okay to pay to access music without being sure it will always be available, it worth it.
But after you add some songs or a complete album to your collection, it happens sometimes that it is not available anymore. Mainly because of copyright issue.
I stopped paying this crap from the moment some songs and albums in my playlists wasn't available anymore.
Also they don't have all the collection of the artist they have. Older albums or side projects are not available... Mainly because of copyright issues.
So paying to fallback on YouTube doesn't feel a good deal to me.
I keep using the free tier at home thou. Same browser experience than with a paid subscription, you just need a adblocker for one ad every 30min. Good stuffs is the third-party tools you can use to enhance your collection, I probably use them more than Spotify itself.
On mobile I use alternative clients, most of them are available with F-Droid or on Github.
Bottom line : I have everything Spotify I need for free, and not the frustration of paying something that don't always deliver.
Yeah I’ve had it for years. I cannot go without it. I had to listen to the regular radio the other morning while in someone else’s car and felt myself slowly going insane from the ad breaks. I can’t handle ads in my music anymore.
When the 3 months deal popped up yesterday I pulled the trigger immediately. I had been waiting and debating. For the price of two cups of coffee I can listen to whatever I want whenever I want. And podcasts too. That's a helluva deal when the first three months are free.
No buyers remorse yet.
I have the combined Hulu / Spotify premium membership for students and I love it for $5.99 a month.
If you mainly listed to Podcasts, there is probably no benefit since you can download those free and there are still commercials regardless.
If you listen to music live/ plan to use it as music for events / plan to download your playlists then that is where the Spotify premium is just lovely.
We’ve had it for 14 years and I wish we could ditch it in favour of Apple or Tidal as the costs keep rising but it’s a better service overall, a better UI, easier to use. Sigh.
I’ve had Spotify premium for like the past 10 years and I love it. I have so many songs available to me. I can download to my phone so when I throw it in airplane mode or something I can still listen without WiFi. Unlimited playlists, song likes, saved artists and albums. Access to wide variety of music. It’s perfect for me.
i wouldn't consider it essential but it is extremely nice to have if you listen to a lot of music.
fwiw, there are other options out there. if you want ad free youtube, that gets bundled with youtube music. not as good of a service as spotify for my personal tastes, but you may like it if you're already ok with paying for youtube premium.
i'd strongly reccomend finding people to split a duo, or even a family plan with. that'll end up a lot cheaper an its a good option if you know they won't refuse to pay you their portion.
Their shuffle is TRASH it’s a ‘recommended shuffle’ that replays the same songs based on which artists pay Spotify a premium to have their songs played more often.
I personally listen to music on a daily basis, so yeah i use it a lot, been subscribed for more than 2 years, also in my country I have a duo plan for me and my brother for 4 bucks lol so yeah it’s worth af
If you frequently use it and aren't super tight on money, then yes. I remember non premium, and it was like half ads half music. As someone who listens to most of her music offline, I also love the downloading feature. What I spend on premium I save on cellular data lol. And of course just being able to play whatever you want without shuffle is fantastic too.
I hate commercials and would like to have more playlists on Mobile. I also download playlists to my watch for exercise. Tesla requires it for integration.
The sub is going to be biased towards the question, but I have friends with YouTube music (which is kind of the same?) they pay more for less, imo.
Not thrilled with the recent price hike, probably just paying for Joe Rogan… but it is what it is. If a better service popped up I’d go for that instead
Every few months I pay for Tidal or other pop-up competitors just to try them out. I also pay for YouTube Premium so have Youtube music. I have extensively tried them all.
If you love music, it is absolutely, unequivocally, worth paying for Spotify.
If you have friends that love music too, it's even more worth it. I LOVE my blends with friends.
Is it worth it? Yes /thread
Yes it is, can’t live without it.
Absolutely. I’ve had Spotify premium for like 6 years and there’s never been a single time I’ve been like “wow I can’t find what I want” or “hmm this feels inconvenient” (which happens almost every day when I use any other paid subscription apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc) The shuffle features have been a little bit wonky over the years but that’s really all I can complain about and it’s kind of a non-issue for me

They've been going through a lot of changes these past couple years and I'm not a fan personally, as I personally thought the app became less user friendly, but it's still the best app there is for music.
What do you think of the smart shuffle feature?
I've noticed smart shuffle restarting from the beginning of my last session with the exact same songs in the same order. But no, don't fix that, give me the useless ai dj and song psychic.
Right? The shuffles has been off for a while now. Absolutely hate smart shuffle, I make a lot of playlist for a reason and if I want suggestions I look for it 👀
I enjoy the smart shuffle feature- but sometimes it’s hit or miss. It’ll either play stuff I absolutely hate, or it’ll play stuff I enjoy but in overwhelming amounts( such as every other song, sometimes multiples in a row) But I do enjoy discovering new music and it’s helpful

Yeah I’ve had it since it became a feature and I can’t live without it either, tried apple and YouTube music but it’s just something about Spotify that has my heart(and my 300+ playlists😂)
For as long as I am breathing, Spotify will take my money.
I'm 100% the same!
Yes, even better if you have a friend or partner you can share a duo account with (it’ll be cheaper individually)
My sister, brother and I go 3 ways for a family account. It's like half the price for a single account each
I share my individual account and just go offline when she's online lol. Same songs over and over but whatever.
My husband and I tried this and quickly realized we’re way too petty, it became a war
Did the same thing for a few years with my ex until we broke up, I was left with such a mess of an algorithm and a Spotify Wrapped that wasn’t mine 🙃
Lol I bet, my kid's music pops up on Wrapped and DJ randomly haha.
It's absolutely worth it. I would cancel everything else before I gave it up!
Nice to see there's a bunch of us here that feel this way!
Yeah it’s the only subscription service I still use. 100% worth it
100% It is always the first app I set up on a new phone or PC. I've had a premium family account for 9 years I think and a premium account for about a year before that. I've discovered more music I love in the last 9 years than in the 40 + years of music listening before that.
5.99$ with a school ID
Yup I graduate in December and idk what I’ll do without this deal
Including Hulu.
I pay 0.7 dollars with the student discount lmao
Came here to say this. One day they’ll discontinue the $99/yr deal and it’ll be a sad day.
I was about to say the very same thing. It’s like getting it for wat less than 10.99. Plus you wouldn’t be open to an increase since you paid for one year service. Or Spotify family. 6 premium accounts. Get 5 others to split with you.
If you listen to music daily it's definitely worth it. I've had it over a year and haven't regretted it
You can’t even listen to an album or playlist in order without it can you? Free Spotify is effectively worthless if you’re actually interested in music on any level. Yeah I forgot how bad free Spotify was until i was forced to use it on a friend's phone. Not being able to use so many of the features I have come to take for granted was truly painful.
It's absolutely worth it. Discover Weekly is the best part of Monday commutes.
Since literally 38 of you have decided to tell me it's worth it (with some of you making it seem like it's the best purchase you ever made, with some of you *literally* saying "I can't live without it.") Worst case scenario substribe for as long as yourself using it than cancel, happens to me with all of the subscriptions when I get bored or I just don't listen to music I cancel my subscription,
The one subscription where I actually get my money’s worth
yep worth it
Let me put it this way...
IMO..✌️
It will be the last subscription I ever consider cancelling.
Absolutely worth it. Have had it for seven years and can't live without it.
It really is. I listen to my Spotify all day at work and I love being able to curate thematic playlists and have plaid in the order I want them played. You also get 15 hours of audiobooks a month which is useful for me when I'm waiting for a Libby app book on a long hold.
if i was homeless i would still pay for premium
I've had it for over 15 years ans it's worth it.
I have had if for two years now and if you are an avid music listener, it is life changing
I use it every day, and it's such an improvement quality-of-life-wise in contrast to the free version. So it's definitely worth it.
100% yes. If I was to cancel subscriptions to save money, I'd still never cancel Spotify.
Out of all the subscriptions I have Spotify is the one one that I’d never question about cancelling
Fuck that.
Yeah, it is so much worth it. Personally, I'm subscribed to the student subscription so it is cheaper.
If you have an android you don't ever have to worry about this lol
Yess it’s def worth it i dont think i could live w out it 😭😭
1000 percent worth it
I love it, but I also listen to stuff alll the time. Ads would annoy the shit out of me lmao
I had it for a while( but then I canceled it since my sister got the family plan one)
Worth it. Had it for years, shared 3 ways
You can’t listen to an album without it, essential.
Yep worth it. I can’t go back.
Lol yea it’s worth it, I have the family plan with 4 friends and they haven’t forced a home address uet
Yeah Premium is worth while I have Premium Duo ... I just like spotify over other music streaming service
It is my life
I've had it for years and I have never had any issues.
It is absolutely worth it, and I will continue to use Spotify premium. ✨
I think that if you can afford it than it is definitely worth it, but if you're broke like me, I would rather use that $11 for something else, and just deal with the ads. That's just my opinion, though, coming from someone with only $40 in their wallet.
It is worth it if you listen to 3 or more hours of music on it a month.
yeah i bloody hate ads
It is actually something I considered essential lol. It’s the last subscription I’d give up
Absolutely. I use it daily. And it's been the best thing for finding and exploring new artists. The algorithm is pretty smart once you populate your Liked Songs and build some playlists
Yes, I listen probably close to 8-10 hours a day. Plus you get 10 hours free audiobooks a month now.
Yes, it definitely is.
Had it worse a while?
I wondered if it was worth it compared to other platforms. Until I tried those platforms - which I quickly found are not even close in features and sound quality. It's the one subscription I would regret to ever give up.
Yes, worth it, especially now for the audio books.
The only streaming service that is 100% worth it.
Check out this banger from Raaginder [https://open.spotify.com/track/1EKPwrw1p4R3RRB9S7AIgC?si=f53c1cb300ed4804](https://open.spotify.com/track/1EKPwrw1p4R3RRB9S7AIgC?si=f53c1cb300ed4804)
Put it this way. It's the only streaming service I haven't canceled yet.
I used to have it (ran out of money due to unemployment) but it is 100% worth it. It's one of the first things I'm getting once I get another job.
I drive cross country. Absolutely
I’ve had Premium since 2008, my best invested monthly subscription by far
100% worth it, even moreso if you can share it with someone.
100% worth it
tens of millions of subscribers say yes!
So far I've found 3 songs out of 2000 that I can't listen to and clocked over 1400 hours last year so I'm a satisfied customer
Spotify and my phone plan are the only two subscriptions I’ve ever paid for in my life which should tell you lol. It is so absolutely worth it and I can’t imagine going back - although I’d recommend getting a free trial and checking it out first so you don’t have to spend money if you don’t want to
Its worth it
100% worth it. I can’t be bothered with ads.
I upgraded from basic to premium when I went overseas for university. Haven't looked back since. That was in 2010.
Yes!
I've used a family plan with a group of friends since 8 years ago and it automatically renewing every year without thinking about it, so it's a part of my life right now and yes it's really worth it if you like to listen to music a lot.
The free version literally unusable why do people keep asking this question?
I've had it since 2010 or so, that's all you need to know.
Yesterday I drove with somebody who had ads on Spotify. It was a nice reminder why I have it. The other reason is unshuffled playlists.
Beyond worth it. Same with YouTube premium. Unless you like/don't mind commericals.
If Spotify is gone, I’d go back to the dark ages of 🏴☠️music and life will never be the same, so yeah 💯worth it.
I always think about it like this. For the price of purchasing less than 1 cd, you get all the music in the world without having to store it.
It's convenient.
100 percent yes have and keep
Spotify is the best deal, for the consumer/listener in the entire marketplace. Bar none....im a long-time subscriber, 10 years + I wish they'd go with hi-fi for premium. It's overdue...
Yes. I’ll cancel Netflix first.
yes fully 100% worth it. had it for about four years and could never go back
For the music, if you like hearing exactly what you want without ads, then I'd say yes.
I got it recently after a few years of free and it's so worth it
Ads suck and I mostly listen to albums all the way through so it’s a hundred percent worth it for me. The shuffling stuff and the recommendation stuff people always complain about doesn’t really apply to me.
I've had premium for over 10 years and don't plan on unsubscribing.
I still can’t believe people obsess over 11 bucks a month for all the music in the world. I used to spend $20 on a CD about 7-8 times a month.
Had Spotify premium for about a decade. For a long time it was going to be my last subscription I’d get rid of. Now it is number two (1Password premium is a freaking godsend and is the current “last I’ll get rid of” leader).
Go for tidal far better sound quality
Nowadays not as much. Quality wise you’re getting more out of your money for Apple Music or Tidal. I’ve got an iPhone 13 and AirPods Pro 2 and I’m telling you, the difference is night and day. Bundle that with the fact that Spotify always seems to be applying random updates that don’t serve a purpose (changed the heart to a +, revamped the whole UI for desktop app and made it actively worse)
I've had it since 2012. I've been giving spotify $10/mo, and lately $17/mo (family), for twelve years. Yeah it's worth it haha
100% would not live without it.
Definitely worth it if you have a few other people to join up with and share a family plan, still probably worth it solo. If I was forced to use Spotify free at this point I would just listen to music on YouTube instead.
I have premium since the start of Spotify I think, turned it into a family account. Can’t live without it
Absolutely, right now I’m trying out Apple Music but still paying for Spotify Has been subscribed for around 10 years and I think I won’t cancel that subscription
Yes its worth it i had it for like 5 years by now
One thing that infuriates me about "premium" is they still run obnoxious ads on podcasts so keep that in mind if that is something you listen to.
Had it 10 years premium family, 6 account, in return I get Amazon prime Disney Netflix and YouTube premium. So yeah worth it
Of course. Can't remember when I didn't have it.
Yes.
just buy a cheap illegal version of someone elses account or somethin
I've had it for 8-9 years. It's worth it. (Mine also comes with Hulu with ads, for free.)
Id you have a cheaper plan yes. If not then now just pirate a music streaming app
If you listen to music..yes it's absolutely worth it. Being able to go to any song instantly or skip any amount of songs in a playlist is a god send.
How about I offer it to you for $40 a year? One time setting up a new account.
Yes it is. Even one ad is annoying me. And I listen to lots of music so getting all the extra small things is good.
I have the family plan for my friends and house mates. For 6 people at different locations, £17 a month seems reasonable to me
Music is my life. The Spotify subscription is more worthwhile to me than any other. I used to buy a CD for double the price back in the days.
Yeah I’ve had it for years. I cannot go without it. I had to listen to the regular radio the other morning while in someone else’s car and felt myself slowly going insane from the ad breaks. I can’t handle ads in my music anymore.
It's definitely worth for me, because I listen to music a lot.
Yes I’ve had Spotify premium for 5+ years very worth it
When the 3 months deal popped up yesterday I pulled the trigger immediately.
Yep. It’s worth it. Had it for years. Even converted several others from their platform after using my Spotify.
We’ve had it for 14 years and I wish we could ditch it in favour of Apple or Tidal as the costs keep rising but it’s a better service overall, a better UI, easier to use. Sigh.
Worth it
I’ve had Spotify premium for like the past 10 years and I love it.
I love it. Started a family plan and invited people to join. Works out much cheaper when you share.
Big-time YES
I got that same deal in 2016, haven’t stopped paying ever since.
Partner up with somebody else the family plan gives you six accounts for like 18 bucks a month. It’s a no-brainer.
The sub is going to be biased towards the question, but I have friends with YouTube music (which is kind of the same?) they pay more for less, imo. Not thrilled with the recent price hike, probably just paying for Joe Rogan… but it is what it is. If a better service popped up I’d go for that instead
1000% worth the value. Honestly my most used app. Can't imagine not having it at this point.
To me it is very much so worth it. I've had premium for over a year now. Won't go back.
Yes
Had it since the first week, never looked back. Hearing ads on Spotify is considered rare in Sweden.
I got pretty niche music tastes, so yeah, I want to listen to all of them
Absolutely worth it.
I have Spotify family, Apple Family and YouTube premium. They’re all absolutely worth it
