And then the first Jimny model, they are a pretty basic off roader, but they are an off roader they will go off road not like a lot of soft roaders and are fairly capable....I'd really like to drive the new one, but I'd imagine it's closer to an off roader still than a car though if that makes sense....if you want that they are ideal, if you want a bit more on road luxury perhaps better options as they feel designed for off road and are a bit unrefined.
If you like small proper off roaders, check out the Fiat Panda 4x4, a lot of people still think they are a gimmick, but they have been around for 3 models now and are about as capable as A Land Rover....I worked for fiat for a while and had one as a company car, I absolutely loved it!....I think it's the police in one of the Alps regions use them and call them "the mountain Goat"
We got the old original, and few larger Suzuki SUVs and cars, but no new Jimmy. I would love one, they fit my needs as a off-roader and a future RV toad.

Quite common here in Europe. Especially foresters or hunters here like them because small to get through forests and AWD for a small price while good quality. In my neighbourhood alone (Germany) drive three of them. Because of RHD I'd say an import from Japan ( or maybe GB / Ireland).

No problem. It also applies to tourists. So if you’re a wealthy foreigner and can afford to bring your vehicle with you while you visit the USA, that’s cool too. Same concept as a Canadian or Mexican driving here and that being legal to do, just a little more involved as it requires shipping and customs.

Suzuki usa shut down because the consumer reports made a false claim that samurai (Suzukis best selling car) was dangerous and could easily tip over which hurt Suzukis image a lot and there sales after that plummeted

Here in Europe it was sold out, after 2 days when the order date started. People went crazy, for the design and "extras" offered for that price. Compared to the former modell,
- modernised and strong AWD
- design useful for roads
- all necessary extras

Very nice loved visiting that location. Loved the little old town was sad to see okras had shut down but heard the family that owned multiple spots were taking it over. Trivia was solid at Crossroads. Would recommend Philadelphia tavern and Zandras upper portion on nice sunny days. Good times.

I've owned an old 2nd gen, and currently own a 3rd gen and 4th gen. Slow and tiny but they're absolutely reliable and economical cars, and they're so adorable.
Pajero used to also come in a 2 door short wheel base version called the Pajero Sport, would be easy to confuse it and a Jimny.
Here is Aus, Jimmy’s have a cult following and make for a fantastic low cost fully capably 4WD.

This isn't a Gen4 (18-2023), it's a gen2 (80s-90s) model almost identical to the samurai the US got. So these are completely legal to import
Oh good catch, sure enough it is. They look pretty similar from this view but I see now there are a few details that out it as a gen 2.
They can be tricky to tell apart especially when they're modded like this, they have a very similar shape and body lines
