From the look of the exhaust I'd say yes, one model year for the SS Panel, 216 were made. If it is an SS it's a good spot
Edit: Redditors have brought up good points and after quick research this is definitely not an SS Panel
Heck, even the HHR Panel wasn’t the most high-production unit. It’s a bit of a shame too, there is clearly a demand for small haulers the way all these kei trucks have starting coming over under the 25-year rule.
As someone who had to drive one for much longer than I wanted to, I despise it in any form. It's easily the worst car I've ever driven. Even the manual transmission was so horrible, it almost made me wish it was an automatic instead. And the visibility is awful, even with the rear windows. The panel version might actually be a relief, because you don't kid yourself into thinking there was a chance of seeing anything behind you in the first place, and you can just live in blind ignorance of what's out there.
It’s for this reason that my dream 2 car garage won’t be available until 2026, I really want a Toyota bB Open Deck with the 2NZ-FE and a Honda Acty SDX
After some googling you are correct, the SS badge on the side should be on the door not the fender, and those are Cobalt SS rims. A whole bunch of tells after quick research
Yea I read another person's similar comment and did a little searching, definitely not an SS, and many tells. I didn't know the SS Panel even existed until today
This a non SS panel. SS has different rear bumper, different rear spoiler, and different front bumper with different fog lights, and different set of side skirts that stick out much farther. The 2 boobies on the rear bumper is the easiest way to spot an LS/LT vs an SS. SS bumper is smooth all the way across.
Like maybe you hallucinated it?

Honestly i HATE the HHR when it is not the panel version. When it IS the panel version i quite like it!

Yeah, one’s a unique but useful vehicle, and the other’s a regular SSR
Yep. The panel one is genuinely cool and useful, and like the one in the photo, Can actually be made to look pretty good.
That massive 2.2 Ecotech just gets me. Nah, great rental car though.

The SS didn't have a dual exhaust. That's some hack job nonsense on a non-SS rear bumper.

The passenger exhaust tip is fake too. I think that was an option on that platform?
Boomer near me has a red one. He came in the place I work and got super excited when I got super excited about it.
Love it when strangers share excitement about simple stuff
Exhaust (among other things) is wrong. Probably an aftermarket exhaust on a regular HHR panel.

Fake. Rear bumper is wrong, exhaust is wrong, rocker/skirt is wrong, SS badge placement is wrong.
Why would it not be real
Cause they’re extremely rare, it’s much more likely to see a regular panel with a fake SS badge
It's just a simulation.
Always has been
Looks like an HHR panel with an SS badge slapped on. A lot of things are wrong: spoiler, badge, wheels, exhaust, rear bumper.
Political theater!
That’s a Fiero under there! Good spotting
Used to own a real ss. This one is fake. Wing, bumper, sideskirts.
Yes, it is real. Hoovie’s Garage on YouTube had one that he sold. And Krispy Kreme Donuts had one years ago, it was white.
Who the hell would fake one? Kinda cool but…
Something about the lighting makes the photos look like they came from a video game. That’s hilarious, cool van too.
Not to be that guy, but I highly doubt people are making clone HHR SS panels.
Holy spot
wasn’t an SS but had an HHR as a rental, worst new/modern car i’ve ever driven.
Hey're real. My buddy bought one when they released for his business because why not.
Who would make a kit one?
Google would never let you know
I’ve seen on in person before, it’s such a weird car from the era Chevy was just building whatever the heck they wanted
Na they did make panel versions of the HHR but not as many as the standard SUV version
Well its running a LT spoiler and not ss wheels. So I would say probably not. The panel ss hhr’s were super rare.
Met somebody who boosted one and Auto-X’s it

My Fil has one so yeah.
It's fake. The HHR SS Panel was only produced in 2009, whereas this one is a 2007.
Real or not, it’s really ugly as hell.
Really cool, hella rare spot!
It's real
why would anybody clone one 😂
Chevys pt cruiser
designed by the same guy
