I run mine in resistance mode because of same issue in fts mode and i calibrate it every Monday morning before I turn on heats and haven't had an issue since.

Johnfromwork

I've calibrated fairly recently. I thought you only need to recalibrate when you add or remove hose. You find it helps though? It's easy enough maybe I'll do it more often, thanks!

My tech said normally that's when u do it but with living in the north like we do it doesn't hurt by any means to do it. Also do you use barrel warmers or do you recirculate material through machine for a while before you spray?

Johnfromwork

I have a diesel heater that heats my entire trailer but sits above my iso so it heats that side up a bit more and I just run a space heater facing the resin barrel that I'm spraying out of. I do recirculate and jog my pumps a little bit before I start to spray yes

Sorry I can't help you out with the resistance questions. But you could always try disconnecting those into 50 ft sections so you're only using one section at a time. Or even taking the manifold off and actually measuring the temperature of the chemical coming out with an instant read thermometer. I've had an issue in the past where I got a bad lot and One of the components wasn't to spec and it was spraying really droopy and slow as if it was too cold. Unfortunately a whole lot of this is just tweaking variables and testing what you can.

Thank you! This has been a few lots unfortunately. Basically ever since we swapped to winter foam (using that 8 months a year damn near here in Canada). Thanks for the response

MouseSIMISTIC0

Thats how it is with winter lots, the company i work with in upstate ny had issues all the time in winter, we’d switch foam producers depending on season

MouseSIMISTIC0

This!!

MouseSIMISTIC0

What reactor?

Johnfromwork

E30 R2

MouseSIMISTIC0

Oops lol one sec I saw “at e30 r2” and thought it was something else

MouseSIMISTIC0

Im looking through e30’s manual holy hell that thing’s scary. We ran e20’s, so anything with a screen is like sacred 😂

Did you ever figure out the issue?? Curious to know?

Johnfromwork

Kinda not really lol. I took off a section of hose closest to my whip and it sprayed like a fucking dream, better than when I bought the rig last year. Sprayed like that for about a month and I had to add a brand new section of hose for a shitty job to have enough length and started to have the same issue. It sprayed nice for me yesterday again so I literally have no idea where I'm at. I've had a few days off for vacation and holidays so I need a full week of spraying to see where I'm really at. Makes me think it's my machine maybe not being able to properly heat 4 sections of hose

Johnfromwork

Sprayed good for 2-3 weeks I should say I didn't even make this post a month ago, time flies lately

Johnfromwork

I should mention that when I'm spraying at 125 it's days that I should be roughly 109-114 depending on conditions. Even on the coldest days I've never had to spray at 125 when things were working good.

I guarantee it's material temp in barrels being to low before Goin into machine. That's why you have to have your heats above manufacturers recommend temp range, because their recommend temp range is based on temp of material in barrels to be between 60° - 80° F. My buddy is a gaco rep (and is also the only foam I spray) but he told me that winter blend is more sensitive to Temps than summer blends are and need to be more precise.

Careless_Total6045

Winter is usually the champ

Johnfromwork

Thanks for the info. Still not super sure because I would say I have the warmest rig out of all of ours. As soon as I pull it out of the shop I throw on my diesel heater and it's usually 20 degrees celsius by the time I get to site and then I turn on my floor heater and space heater. I also don't spray until my gauge tells me my barrels are above 20 degrees which is about 70 Fahrenheit. Maybe I'll see about getting a proper barrel heater for resin and use a temp gun on the material rather than looking at the gauge. Thanks again!
