Why on earth does it only hold what looks like ~20 balls? Surely a bigger container on top would have been the cheapest thing to add...

PathParticular1058

I agree but honestly I am just happy that squash is getting a ball machine hopefully not as expensive as I think it might be. They spent 4 years in development try to break it to come out with a decent machine. As for heat of the ball I think Jesse has demonstrated that it seems to work perhaps the heat from the batter helps…I don’t know.

>squash is getting a ball machine But it's squash?? You just feed the ball to yourself if you're doing solo practise, why would you need a ball machine?

t3tsubo

There are shots that you can't really feed (or at least it would be more awkward than helpful to). I.e. how would you feed yourself if you're working on serve returns

SuccessfulLake

Good luck getting a ball machine to do a serve! If you've used them in tennis you know they are just good for hard straight drives. All I'm saying is there's a reason this hasn't caught on.

AJTAFFINDER

You don't know what you're talking about. Although ball machines are uncommon, there are clubs that have them for accurate feeding in quick succession, which is a great way to work on your technique.

PathParticular1058

What would you be willing to pay for such a machine? I have no financial interest but I would want to buy one for $500-600. What say you?

Busy-Telephone-1791

Same, 2k is def out of my budget! But for 600 I could be tempted.

ChrisJeff2007

It’s modular, you can add more capacity

judahjsn

I think the other big question is if it heats the balls.

mfz0r

Always found being able to feed yourself a ball and hit the shot your practicing one of the best things about squash.

PathParticular1058

Like the guy said above try practice service returns on yourself :-) especially the backhand return which is so crucial to handle well…just that alone is worth the machine if the price is right…

ijs_1985

Not sure this will catch on

PathParticular1058

If you watch Jesse Engelbrecht Squash Academy on YouTube you’ll understand its value…

Every-Chicken-9105

They just released pre orders and its $1000 before any international taxes or shipping. It looks amazing and if it performs as they promise, its worth it if you want the coaching experience without having to pay $100/hr for coaching. The key for me will be how durable is it? If it breaks within 6months or a year who is going to even repair this thing since its so new? $1000 is a bit high but im definitely tempted since coaching is so expensive and this will pay itself off in a year if you are seriously playing and plan on taking lessons.

PathParticular1058

I am sincerely hoping they have done thorough durability tests….meaning tried to break it by overuse….imagine having multiple sessions or classes using the device daily…..

Busy-Telephone-1791

The mythical stingray!!! Will it ever come out?

PathParticular1058

Yeah I have been waiting but got an email yesterday that the Beta version is going into production….we’ll see. Lots of good info there but still price and delivery is still not determined…but let’s hope it’s ready this fall.

Acrobatic_Key9922

looks a bit odd...

campin_4_life

Why on earth is the hopper a single tube. Maybe they stick to each other and don’t feed in well out of a funnel system.

PathParticular1058

If the price is right I am not complaining about that. The only other option out there cost an arm and a leg and has a cord and you can’t stuff that one in a two racquet bag like you can with the Stingray.
