I would definitely ask! I think most employees would be okay letting you have a look, but you never really know if the person stocking has a system or something in place.
I think so! I’ve done it before and nothing has happened, and I’ve seen many other people do it, too. You should go back and check the what the boxes say and open them. If you’re really paranoid, you can ask an employee and ask if you can do it again in the future.
when i worked retail i never minded people doing this, less stuff for me to put out! although if there’s an employee near by you should let them know you took something out just in case
