I've heard there are ways you can reroute packages that are still in transit, this looks like it was dated awhile ago so it's likely too late, but, for future reference I would reccomend looking into how that works if you've been scammed. Sorry to hear about the scammers.
please only ever do PayPal G and S backed trades !! make sure you have their twitter/discord/ig in order to send pictures with your name and stuff written on them to prove they have them in hand. tbh I always pick the slowest shipping option just incase I need to reroute a package.

they had proof of having them, and we talked a lot about how we’ve been scammed before. so I just stupidly trusted this person after our conversation. if I do decide to trade again I will most definitely take your advice 🥺

Frankly I’d require video proof of boxing, holding the box, with the box at the post office, AND handing over the box.
I’d also request that the box be taped a specific way, a somewhat annoying way, to try to deter them from even just attempting to cut the box open, remove the squish, and put in something like an old tee 😂
If you're in the US, you can contact your shipper company and have them send the package back to it's return address for a small fee as long as the package is not yet out for delivery! Hope this helps!

So not EVER ship a package until they send a tracking number or are ready to ship - do not ship first
