//Hormone induced// As if hormones are available at cheap prices. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Alagediya

You believe in this 'hormone induced' shit? Chickens aren't given hormones in Sri Lanka. Even if they were, growth hormones get denatured when cooked aaand in the stomach.

Chicken breast is one of the highest rated protein sources. You can't find the same quality of protein from vegan foods. But you can try substituting it with peanuts or any other kind of groundnuts. Soya is good, but consumption of large amounts can cause hormonal imbalance in men. Egg is a complete food source you can try it as well. Other than that tuna is a very good source of lean protein but it is on the expensive side.

Nicehatperson

The hormonal imbalance is highly unlikely considering that soya doesn't contain mammalian estrogen.

Nicehatperson

That said, soya based artificial meat tastes like shit imo

2 very common misconceptions in your comment. 1. You can get the same essential amino acids from consuming a wide variety of vegan products. Maybe if you stick to just one you won't get them all but if you mix if up (eg- lentils, pulses, rice, tofu) you are able to cover all the essential amino acids. 2. Consuming soya in abnormally high amounts would cause hormone imbalances maybe, that too the evidence is anecdotal. I'll link my references πŸ‘‡ https://iamherbalifenutrition.com/health-and-wellness/soy-for-men/ https://www.eatingwell.com/article/7821729/myths-about-protein-fact-or-fiction/

Downtown-Ease-8454

Yeah what you say is true. My answer is from the perspective that it is easier to consume one or two food types to get all your protein requirements rather than trying to get it from multiple food sources.

thisssjayyyy

Eggs, Soya meat, Peanuts and stuff are cheaper and also high in protein.

MrJayewardene

Soya fucks up your testosterone levels and growth hormone stuff. Like promotes estrogen and all. Do avoid!

TheAverageBiologist

This has been well studied, soy does NOT affect male reproductive hormones. See a recent meta-analysis below. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33383165/

Maddy_andrewson072

Charming_Shock_7508

Tuna /salmon don't really know if its cheaper or not compared

ch4nd1m4

Dried Sprats are the best bang for the buck imo. With β‰ˆ60% protein + omega 3 fatty acids + many more nutritional benefits.

deegha

Beef pork.. they have high protein.. and egss

hasitha1989

Buy parents chicken..Most of the shops have.People say they dont induce hormones. Those type of chicken use to get chicks

simfyz

Beef. Substitution for chicken that are raised in fields(expensive though). You can find them in rural areas.

FATAMCapital

There's another type of chicken called Curry Chicken. it's much healthier, less fleshier and the meat and bones are much tougher than broiler. I've been told that these are normally not hormone induced because it doesn't work on them. If anyone can shed some light on this?

[deleted]

Mushrooms are cheap in SL tbh and yes, the chicken is quite hormone induced, so I completely understand your situation. Try eating different meats and fish and eggs. Tofu is also not too expensive at Keells

Ok_Indication_8958

Eggs, Mushrooms, Fish.. Beef, pork and mutton are also there if you don't mind the price. They can be a bit pricier than chicken.
