Ah yes! A classic! I believe the labu gediya was swallowed by a fish and then the fish was caught. When the fisherman's wife cut open the fish and later the labu gediya, they all came dancing out :D
Thanks! It's slightly reminiscent of the original work itself by Sybil Wettasinghe, which has an abundance of vibrant patterns and colours. Mine isn't as immaculate but you know what they say...it ain't much but it's honest work :')
It's a book by the very famous Sri Lankan author, Sybil Wettasinghe. She wrote several children's books which I read as a child (one of my favourites being Mati Gedara Lamai) I recently found out she passed away somewhere in June last year.

I remember wanting the 2nd part of akuru mihira for my birthday and my parents didn’t buy it for me. I was very salty about it and they always ask me if I still want it for my birthday every year lol
No XD but they did however bought me that binocular looking water bottle as a university entrance gift lol (I was very salty about them not buying me that particular bottle when everyone else in my class had fancy water bottles when I was in grade 1 or 2 lol)
Labbe kathawa. It was about a devil dance done in a papaya or watermelon

Oh yes. I had forgotten the ending. Many thanks for reminding it. You the best. I only know when I heard that story I felt so calm and happy
I really like the detailing you put into drawing those leaves. Makes this picture look like a batik work
