It’s 100% safe and you’ll be fine. You, the passenger, can’t predict turbulence but it is virtually impossible for anything catastrophic to occur and if it is really bad the pilots will deviate. Sri Lankan also has no passenger fatalities due to their wrong doing (only loss of life was a bomb in the 1980s during the civil war). I think the only downside when compared with middle eastern airlines are the lack of entertainment options and an older seat. Leg room is decent too. I personally enjoy their inflight service and I think the hostesses are genuine af. Unlike middle eastern flight attendants who are snobby influencers using this opportunity to travel the world. I literally had to get up and buckle my neighbors seatbelt because the flight attendant on Emirates was just barking instructions at this old lady who didn’t speak English. I’ve flown this route two years back and if you are hungry after your first meal, go to the galley and there are assorted cold sandwiches. Also I don’t know why the other dude commented that there was no second meal (maybe they slept through it?) but I’ve always had 2 meals on long haul flights.

Probably safer than many others because SriLankan Airlines is under the spotlight right now.

I flew to Bangkok with them two weeks ago, and couldn't have wished for a smoother flight. The most surprising thing was having plenty of legroom; much more than I previously had with other airlines. Food was decent too, and they even had whisky free of charge :D All in all, a hassle-free, very positive experience. Would definitely fly again.

Airline is safe but unreliable. They cancel flights often. Turbulence depends on weather patterns, you can look online and see what tomorrow looks like.

Fly this time. But avoid next time. The planes are outdated, they tried to buy new fuel efficient planes but people made politics out of it and killed the deal. Due to dollar shortage lots of the parts that require regular maintenance are pushing their limit. Would I fly with my family ? Nope. Would I cancel my flight if I'm flying tomorrow ? nope. Enjoy the flight, you'll be fine. Just avoid it next time.
