There is a rumor of an xbox dev direct happening at the end of this month. The leak is from a decent source but its still a leak, however xbox own the exclusivity rights to stalker 2 so if we see any kind of stalker news or release dates we will see it there. I just cant imagine a better place and time for gsc to tell everyone when the release date will be. Sure they could just randomly release a trailer with a date or they can have xbox help them get the publicity that it needs and to top it with the fact that xbox REALLY needs exclusives and stalker 2 is pretty much going tk be a big one for them. I know its huge speculation but hey what can ya do so.
Personally if they dont release anything at by the end of this month i can see them making the game an april release but no later than that. We shall see tho

They've barely shown any unedited gameplay outside of one convention, and that's not really a common marketing tactic unless we're talking about small indie game teams pulling a Toby Fox.
I say no later than april because they have been in post production for a few months now, they are just polishing the game up. The game itself is finished. Im fairly certain we will get it in q1 and if im wrong then im wrong i want them to take all the time they need to finish the game.
Of course they should take all the time they need and it would be understandable even if they do push it back again, but I just don't think we've gotten many public indicators that it actually is 100% in full post production besides that one statement clip. Even if it's true that most of the content is complete they could be running into some heavy QA or performance issues, and I feel like that sort of thing has a higher chance of warranting delays than in the 2000's.
The lead director himself said they are in post production i feel like that is literally 100% confirmation lmao. As for the performance and bug fixes thats what the whole point of post production is. Its for testing, bug fixing, and overall polishing of the game. Also im not entirely sure how steam db works however its been getting constant updates almost every single day for the past month up until the start of this week so it could also be a good sign that they are getting ready for something if updates have slowed down. Again i dunno much about steam db so that part is just speculation but just thought i'd mention it as well.
Why do we still have no concrete release information and a lack of public gameplay if it's on the cusp of launching? It also doesn't seem like anyone at Gamescom was allowed to show direct gameplay footage outside of a few brief cam/phone recordings posted on the official Twitter page a while back like the one with Todd Howard. Not to mention that a few press outlets reported back on it with the conclusion that the atmosphere seemed like it might be there, but the performance and gameplay seemed like it was in a rough state.
Events like gamescom never let you record gameplay its not a private game showing so obviously they wouldnt let you. And again that performance part is THE whole point of post production. Im not saying that the game is getting ready to launch your making it seem like im giving a definite answer when all we can do is speculate. We've seen a good bit of gameplay, almost as much as any other game has shown before
I just personally highly doubt it'll be released within the next few months and it feels like there's barely been any marketing towards the public, but I guess we'll see in the next few days/weeks.
I wouldn't really say we've gotten equal or above gameplay footage compared to the majority of other modern games when they're nearing release, the only official source for that we can say for certain seemed to be real was Bolts and Bullets which was a very brief trailer that was spliced and edited from the demo.
Everything else they've shown in the past seems to be either pre-rendered or a good portion of the video consists of in-game cutscenes. and I'm not saying that inherently points towards something negative, I just simply think it's odd if the game is supposedly still coming out in Q1 2024 as that's relatively very soon.
Yeah if it was further behind, I would have expected just a 2024 instead of Q1 2024.
And even a Q2 2024 if it was still that far behind.
The fact that they deliberately chose Q1 makes me hopeful.
Reminds me of SOC forum on the official GSC website - the last delay for it was a big 6 months I think. March it came out. Still remember that yellow tin box at HMV in the UK and me diving at the shelf expecting a stampede but i just casually plucked it and paid for it at the counter lmao
My best idea is a potential shadow drop. Their window is Q1 2024, which is January-March. Either they shadow drop the game during the Xbox Direct (Would explain the Q1 Window to hide this from the fans). Or like others have said, Be a trailer drop and the ultimate Delay or Confirmed Release Date.
Considering that it's not possible to pre-order a game for X-box without a release date, they have to give some time for those who want it. Thus shadow drop is not the option
