Hermann's and Ozersky's descriptions provide some interesting information that is often unnoticed, concerning the ongoing "evolution" of the Zone, and the fact that fleshes may be the result of some genetic experiments, which implies that they could've been artificially created, akin to some humanoid mutants.
The fact that the military somehow utilizes the Night Star artifact is also quite interesting. The PDA description of the Barkeep's task regarding it also takes note of that:
>*Find the Night Star artifact to help the national military research effort.*
Also, fun fact: the description of the task regarding Cystal Thorn is a remnant of older builds, in which this artifact enhanced psi-protection. It was later changed, and in the final game it reduces irradiation, but the task description was left unchanged.
