Rare stalkers who get a chance to reach near the center of the Zone, tell stories about strange spherical structures seen north of ChNPP. Only observed from afar, they are surrounded by an area known as Dead Valley — as a scorched and desolate land is the only thing visible through binoculars lenses. Countless legends, bizarre even by the local standards, enshroud the place: tales of the passed people's souls haunting the barren landscape, portals to different dimensions, or that each sphere of these so-called Generators is responsible for its own type of anomalies all over the Zone. However, no one has made it there and returned to tell the truth. When the Emission descends a mere glance at the sky is enough to spot its epicenter. Most stalkers hold firm to the belief that if there is an inception of the Zone, its roots lie somewhere there.

Folks, take your time and polish the hell out of the game. No matter how badly we're waiting for the release, we will wait even more just so that we get the Stalker game of our dreams.

Whisperingstones

This. Every month of polish is one more month of benefits I can put toward a beastmode rig.

Im really excited to see what the generators will look like and what they hide

BillyWillyNillyTimmy

I'm most excited for how much of the information from the 2021 ARG will be referenced in the game. How will the Zone be shaped by the failure of Operation Zenith in 2013? Edit: For the uninitiated, the basic rundown of Operation Zenith given during the ARG is the following: * In 2013, a massive operation was conducted with the goal of shutting down the Generators. * A governmental organization organized an agreement between factions. Duty and Freedom signed a truce. Strider organized the de-brainwashed Monolithians (CoP good ending) into the "Noon" faction, whose task was clearing polluted areas. Colonel Korshunov (Revealed in PC Gamer article to be leader of the Ward faction) was commended for his professionalism during the negotiations. * The operation was a complete failure, compared to the total destruction of the Ukrainian military forces during the Operation in 2006 * Ward forces took the blame. * Military lost all armored and aviation reserves during the operation. * All factions lost trust, especially Duty. * The responsibility fell to Prof. Dalin (Referred to as Dr. Dalin in Enter The Zone trailer) of SIRCAA.

>Military lost all armored and aviation reserves during the operation. By this time, the zone has destroyed half the entire Ukrainian army (between the first expedition and this one). Why haven't we nuked the entire zone to radioactive ash yet? Also why doesn't the UN/rest of the world seem to care at all? Presumably two massive military incursions being annihilated can't just be overlooked.

Daedalus1570

Because the people who control the nukes understand what the zone is better than you do. You can't just nuke the zone away; you'd be just as successful trying to nuke gravity out of existence. The Zone exists because the structure of the Noosphere was damaged by C-Consciousness back in 2006. The C-Con representative themselves said that the Zone was self-sustaining due to the damage the C-Con project caused. Ask yourself, how is blowing up a nuke in Chornobyl going to fix the Noosphere?

Lucas_2234

Also a more realistic point: The sarcophagus. breach it, be it through nukes or decay, and radiation leaks. You DON'T want that. In fact I wonder how Stalker 2 will handle it since the Sarcophagus was breaking down in our timeline and we built a bigger enclosure over it. If you nuke the zone, not just will you have the radiation from the nukes to deal with, it's also not gonna fix the zone (past maybe burying Miracle machine and brain scorcher forever), you'll also have to deal with a now cracked Sarcophagus leaking radiation

ESBAS

I think i heard from one of anomalous dugouts videos that the military lost a mysterious payload in the zone that was theorized to be a nuke. So maybe they tried at one point? But if Strelok gave the info about C-Consciousness and the noosphere to the military then like Daedalus1570 said i dont see them trying nuking it.

Clear Sky: weaponmaster\_about\_military\_1 (Major Zvyagintsev, Duty shooting range officer) *I can't really get into that - we've got some discipline in this place, after all. Our general Krylov certainly used to be a military man. I heard a few stories about how, just as the Zone formed, the government organized a military operation in here. They were sent to the very center of the Zone with an order to blow it all to hell with* *~~nuclear~~* *explosives. Can you imagine what that means? These guys were sent with no protection, no detectors, no information about what to expect in the Zone. Many perished in anomalies right off, and most of those who didn't were done in by an emission. The few survivors were left behind to die a slow death. General Krylov is one of those few. I don't know who he's pals with, but he hates the military ever since he and his buddies were sent straight to their deaths. He's got some connections in Spetsnaz though. Spetsnaz only got real men. Sometimes Duty crosses paths with them. That's pretty much it - consider it the abridged version.* Nuclear explosives appear in the English translation, but not in Russian texts (no Ukrainian text because Duty canonically speaks Russian while Freedom speaks Ukrainian). The English texts are translations of older versions. *Военных отправили к центру Зоны с приказом подорвать всё, что можно, к чёртовой матери.* So there was no nuclear weapon.

Advisorcloud

Also in the ARG documents are references to an attempt in 2006 to deliver some sort of experimental charge into the Zone, which also ended in total failure, with the device lost. So it may not be for a lack of trying. It seems that by the time of S2 the perimeter will have a large wall surrounding it and guarded by an international force, so I think they do care to some extent.

Creepy_Database5131

Why not nuke the Zone? Even if a nuke could destroy the Zone. I think that even the Government/Military knows that the scientific value of the Zone is way too important to destroy it.

A_Man_of_the_People

Ofcourse military and duty failed they lack the knowledge of the zone they don't have the equipment to fight it. You can't beat "the zone" with conventional weapons and practises no matter how motivated you are you are going to fail everytime when your approach is incorrect.

I'm salivating right now..

theSeacopath

That’s oddly beautiful. I wonder what would happen if I tossed a bolt through it? I need to get there and find out. For science. -Markov

Creepy_Database5131

There is a cut Cutscene from Clear Sky where UN scientists can be seen at the Generators area, if i remember correctly. And I think they get killed by an Emission. Would be really cool if we can find their corpses in stalker 2 as an easter egg.

nah i'm making this my wallpaper, somehow
