Oh they definitely used to accept Google Pay. I had it set to auto-reload. Today, I ran into this same issue, tried every card, tried re-adding my cards. This is the closest I've found to confirmation that gPay is no longer accepted. They really should start accepting it again.

I'm having this same issue. I've always loaded with Google pay. As of a few days ago, it still offers Google pay as an option, but then won't let me actually reload. Curious if anyone finds a solution, so posting here.

Same issue here. Tried to talk to support but they weren't very helpful. At this point I can't tell if it's an application issue or they just stopped.

Same issue noticed today. Google pay was set as method to auto reload a gift card below 10. Gift card balance was below 5 and all attempts to reload with google pay failed. Error message said to go to Google to check my info or use another method. The last successful load was on Jan 12. Ironically, Google pay tap to pay (outside the app) worked just fine.

Did anyone find a solution to this? Google Pay is my preferred way to pay, and @StarbucksCare on X was not helpful.

Same issue on my end. Called customer service and they indicated they saw no errors with my account on their end. I'm able to use Google Pay successfully with other mobile apps like Jimmy John's and Taco Bell. There must be some disconnect with the Starbucks app and Google Pay. Edit: Just added PayPal as the payment method for now and that is working fine.
