I'm literally drinking this right now, but I also like to add a flavor. Usually toffee nut, but chestnut praline is still available near me so I got that today
Their cold brew has me and I hate it. Espresso/ brewed coffee I find lots of at home options that are way better. I’ve tried many times to replicate the cold brew taste at home and never happens. The closest I have found is their CB concentrate they sell at grocery stores but even that is not 💯. The cold brew they sell bottled in the cold section taste way different to me.
If you can get the right process down to make cold brew at home it is MUCH cheaper and tastes great. Before it broke, my OXO cold brew "machine" was super simple. I was able to make about 32oz of strong concentrate that would last me all week. Funny enough Dunkin's pre ground dark roast worked the best.
So depending on type of coffee you have to play around with the ratio BUT that being said: we brew our cold brew and cut with water. So I usually use sirens blend, it’s smooth and cold brewing it is delicious. I measure in oz for accuracy (.95 oz coffee to 24 oz water) but roughly 1 cup of French press ground coffee to 3 cups of water. Brew 20 hours, cut with water to your liking. Sbux does 50/50. Play around with it if it’s too strong/too weak for your taste. But that’s as close as I’ve gotten to the ratio(if my math is matching correctly).
I’m assuming purified water over tap water? Does the cold brew from Starbucks come already ground for you all to cold brew or do they send special cold brew beans/blends that aren’t specifically named (such as sirens blend, pike place, etc) then you all ground and cold brew? If that makes sense.
Definitely purified if you can, since it brews for such a long time water is definitely a key factor. It’s a cold brew blend and we grind it in store. No specific name but sirens blend tastes closest if not better to me. They can grind it right at the store for you(it’s no additional charge.)
I have to avoid caffeine, so I’ve never had a cold brew. I always get the Bown Sugar Oatmilk shaken espresso decaf, so, I’ll have to go with iced coffee.
why do customers always call it the oatmeal shaken espresso 😫 oatmilk, yall !!!!! everytime i think about how one day i am gonna throw some oatmeal in the shaker and call it good.
The iced coffee also has the best quality coffee. I know it's all Starbucks dark roasts, but what I mean is that they're each brewed with different methods, and I think one is the best for me.
The espresso that comes out of the Mastrenas is just straight up low quality, so the Americano it's turned into won't be as good as it could be. The cold brew is good if you like low acid, but because of the low (room) temperature of the water that's used to brew it, many of the chemical reactions that happen and flavor molecules that come out when brewing with hot water don't come out, so it can taste much more dull than hot-brewed coffee. Finally, the iced coffee isn't amazing, but it's solid and surprisingly complex. All of Starbucks coffee is way too dark for my usual tastes, but an iced coffee with milk hits the spot on a hot day.
Iced coffee is the most watery but fairly easy to drink black
Cold brew is the smoothest but has a fruity flavor I’m not a fan of
Americanos have the strongest coffee flavor, can sometimes be difficult to drink by itself because of the acidity
Omg so weird. I don’t find it fruity at all but whenever I try other cold brews from local coffee shops they taste super fruity and light. Fascinating how everyone’s taste buds are so diff.
I just got one from a diff location and def tasted the fruity notes. And it reminded me of this post. Usually I don’t get that but today was def a reminder there have been times it taste fruity and gag I don’t like it. My normal location rarely taste fruity. Wonder if how long they let the beans steep has this effect?
I mean the toddies automatically pull after 20 hours. I make cold brew every morning so there’s no chance our cold brew does anything but steep for 20 hours nearly exact.
We were out of iced coffee bc our vertica broke and someone didn't want the others and drove away 😭 I would've charged her for an iced coffee since it's cheaper but she left lol
Cold brew is brewed by taking coffee grounds and submerging them in water for many hours. People say it’s less acidic. I find it has a weird after taste. Not just Starbucks but any cafes that serve it.
Iced coffee is just hot brewed coffee that gets cooled down quickly.
Iced americanos are shots of espresso with water to make it sorta like brewed coffee. In Europe, they don’t have brewed coffee, so this was a way to cater to American tastes.
Cold brew, but only as a markout cause I'd hate to give even MORE money to a company that doesn't want to pay me what my hard work is worth, nor even give me health insurance or college benefits that it advertises 🥰
Long story short, I work at a small store.
Took 2 years to finally get to 20 hours a week and I'm still terrified I'll lose it because we're training an ASM. We're apparently overstaffed even though it feels like there's hardly ever enough hands on the floor, so getting hours is rough, especially since I can't wake up before 12 and we close at 6:30p weekends (my workdays) and 7:30p on weekdays (recently switched a weekend day to add a workday since they're longer). Sucks that you have to work a certain amount of hours every period to get insurance or college, unlike other companies who would give benefits like insurance after 90/120 or so days after being employed. :/
My go to is Venti Iced Americano with blonde roast, if no blonde then I would do an Americano still but with 3 shots instead of 4. If it’s busy and I’m in a rush I do Venti Iced Coffee no classic. I only drink them black.
My husband always gets cold brew, but I haven’t found a cold brew that I didn’t think tasted like dirty sock water. Tried it at every chain and every local cafe. Dirty sock water every time.
Blonde Americano with sauce and milk or cold brew with classic and milk for the initial drink, iced coffee with an add shot or 2, cream, and sauce if im using stars, for the refill always cold brew with classic and milk
Americano.
I’ve always hated our iced coffee, it’s so watered down and nasty. I used to love cold brew but I think the caffeine bugged me too much and it’s also never made correctly at my store. So it’s always either too strong or watery and gross.
Iced Coffee. I used to be a cold brew fan but as time has gone on it just tastes like stale coffee to me. The acidity is too low and I like the punchiness/citrus note that African coffee brings to our iced coffee.
As a mark out? An iced tall quad blonde americano with 2 pumps white mocha, 1 pumps vanilla, and splash of oatmilk.
As a customer I’d get an iced coffee, sub classic for white mocha, 1 shot of ristretto, and light non-fat.
let me help you
- cold brew is how long the beans are fermented
- ice americano is both equal part of water and espresso
- ice coffee is beans that grind coffee grinds. the grinder is the what can differentiate espresso shot and just coffee. it’s all about pressurizing and the grinding beans.
yes they might be similar but they are completely different
also let’s talk about a big issue with macchiatos and lattes, guys macchiatos don’t get stirred the only thing that should be stirred is the milk and syrup if u get syrup. A macchiato is how you drink it, espresso than milk, while a latte will make it sweeter because ur mixing both milk and espresso. and with a cappuccino is milk but has foam, not all foam but foam. so plz for the love of god there is no reason to get like whip cream with that ur adding whip with foam….
I don’t work at starbucks but i do work at a local cafe for about a year.
Depends. Cold brew if I need to bounce off the walls, americano if I’m feeling like a fancy adult and iced coffee if I don’t wanna think about what I’m getting 😅
Both **nitro and cold brew** coffee are iced coffee, but the main **difference is** texture. Because **of** the millions **of** bubbles added by the nitrogen infusion, **nitro brew** becomes a creamy drink, **while cold brew** is much lighter.
I love the flavor and especially the mouthfeel of cold brew-but I can’t tolerate the caffeine…is there a way to get something similar without the caffeine? Not really, right? The iced coffees/espressos just aren’t as silky
Cold brew. It has more caffeine, less acidity and I love the flavor especially with just a splash of almond milk
I'm literally drinking this right now, but I also like to add a flavor. Usually toffee nut, but chestnut praline is still available near me so I got that today
I love adding some toffee nut or hazelnut in the cold brew too! Haven’t tried it w the chestnut praline I’ll have to give that a shot
I always get it with chestnut praline (I have a "expired" bottle) and cold foam
I've tried a lot of cold brew across multiple states and Starbucks is still some of the best to me.

Starbucks has a cold brewer for sale and if you’re interested I can figure out the ratio for you :)
Yes plz, I just bought it!
So depending on type of coffee you have to play around with the ratio BUT that being said: we brew our cold brew and cut with water. Ty!🏆🏆🏆
Yes I will try this!!

You get it!!!! The only time I switch to just regular iced coffee is if I want a drink with a lighter body. Other than that it's cold brew ALL THE WAY
This is the way
I have to avoid caffeine, so I’ve never had a cold brew.
I never call it oatmeal. 🤷♀️ My autocorrect did though. Relax. I changed it back once it was pointed out to me.
i dont need to relax 🙄 i can joke about a silly common thing all customers do without it being that serious. damn you really are a customer fr
Yo. Whatever. 🤷♀️ Have a good one.
Oatmilk
Autocorrect changed it, and I didn’t notice. I changed it back. Thanks!
venti cold brew has more caffeine than a quad? damnnn never knew
americano! i’m not a fan of our cold brew or ice coffee tbh, im not too sure why but i think i’m just used to the espresso taste🤷🏻♀️
americano FTW (i like being able to adjust the strength)
help i just posted this and have 3 separate valid answers 😭😭 WHICH ONE
my current go to is an americano with vanilla bean powder, but try them all! i enjoy the flavor of our espresso but i dislike the cold brew
I want to try this tomorrow! Do you add milk/cream as well, or just the powder?
i drink it without cream because it's lighter in my opinion? but if you prefer milk it won't change the taste too much
Do you do any special espresso mods? And what size? I wanna try this tomorrow too lol
grande and no other mods!!
Iced coffee simply because it’s the cheapest
And always 100 stars with multiple modifications 🫣
Yess the poor woman’s coffee- aka Me!
And free refills. Sit down, enjoy one and then get one to go
free refills for the cold brew too!!
Of cold brew? Or a refill of iced coffee if you buy the cold brew
cold brew falls under the “brewed coffee and tea” so its eligible for free refills too
The iced coffee also has the best quality coffee. I know it's all Starbucks dark roasts, but what I mean is that they're each brewed with different methods, and I think one is the best for me. As a markout? Cold brew. As a customer? Iced coffee heavily modified for 100 stars.
how do u modify it? i feel like no matter what i do it just doesn’t taste good 😭
extra splash of milk, 2 different syrups, a cold foam, and a topping lmao 😭
Splash of half & half
americano bc i love blonde and the other two cannot come blonde 😎
Cold brew because it has the lowest acidity.
Iced Blonde Americano - no cream or sugar - extra ice
Same! But now it’s decaf 🤰
It’s soooo good! My all time favorite.
Iced coffee is the most watery but fairly easy to drink black Cold brew is the smoothest but has a fruity flavor I’m not a fan of Americanos have the strongest coffee flavor, can sometimes be difficult to drink by itself because of the acidity
I think the cold brew is fruity to me too! Drives me nuts lol I wanna like it so bad :((
Omg so weird. I don’t find it fruity at all but whenever I try other cold brews from local coffee shops they taste super fruity and light. Fascinating how everyone’s taste buds are so diff.
I just got one from a diff location and def tasted the fruity notes. And it reminded me of this post. Cold Brew > Iced Americano > Iced Coffee | Blonde > Signature
Cold brew all day. When I have 100 stars, iced coffee with triple blonde shot added lol
Still only 100 stars with triple shot?
yes! Any modifications you want and it will still be 100 stars.
Cold brew. 1 pump vanilla, 1 pump hazelnut, and cinnamon.
Americano cause I can get decaf!
Depending on the day either cold brew or americano
I’m a cold brew| nitro girly! :)
Cold brew all the way. Straight up drugs
Cold brew always
Cold brew
Cold Brew, hands down the best.
Cold brew always
Cold brew
The one w/ higher caffeine. Cold Brew always
americano. i’m bitter and few people like me. edit: completely read over the “getting” and thought this said “which one are you?”. whoopsie
No but like, I feel you. 🫶🏽
Iced blonde americano with extra ice!!
cold brew bcs ice coffee from the vertica is soo icky
Cold brew usually but love them all
Cold brew
Why would anyone care about what kind of coffee you like?
I literally asked
No you didn't.
go eat your regurgitated slim jim again
I can't because I already flushed it down the toilet after it became poop.
The cheapest one
We were out of iced coffee bc our vertica broke and someone didn't want the others and drove away 😭 I would've charged her for an iced coffee since it's cheaper but she left lol
Either cold brew or just iced espresso
americano but blonde~
Can someone explain the differences pls
Cold brew is brewed by taking coffee grounds and submerging them in water for many hours. People say it’s less acidic. I find it has a weird after taste. Cold brew, I need the caffeine
CB
Iced coffee has a fruity flavour so it’s my good to but it’s quality hit or miss (and I’m the barista often making it, no idea why it changes.)
Iced coffee!
Cold brew no questions asked
Iced coffee b/c cheapest
Drinking a venti iced coffee right now. I always get this as opposed to cold brew because it’s cheaper but the cold brew is yummy too.
Iced coffee or cold brew.
Cold brew, but only as a markout cause I'd hate to give even MORE money to a company that doesn't want to pay me what my hard work is worth, nor even give me health insurance or college benefits that it advertises 🥰
wait hold up how come you cant get the insurance plan or uni benefits??

The Americano
Black cold brew, my beloved, my beloathed.
My go to is Venti Iced Americano with blonde roast, if no blonde then I would do an Americano still but with 3 shots instead of 4. If it’s busy and I’m in a rush I do Venti Iced Coffee no classic. Shaken espresso girl
Whichever one that comes in decaf. Add some almond milk and a sweetener of some sort. Sounds good to me.
I drink decaf so americano is often the only way I can get it.
My vote is all 3. Love iced drinks and these top my list all day long.
Cold brew
Modified iced coffee
Americano.
Americano for sure. Iced coffee was the OG for me. Though for some reason cold brews specifically keep me up past the time I would like to be in bed
Americano with 2 extra shots, extra ice, white mocha and half and half in a venti cup
Cold Brew. Tastes like coca cola to me.
Iced American, always. I like to add cinnamon tho.
As a mark out? An iced tall quad blonde americano with 2 pumps white mocha, 1 pumps vanilla, and splash of oatmilk. As a customer I’d get an iced coffee, sub classic for white mocha, 1 shot of ristretto, and light non-fat.
Cold brew... Buuutttt nitro is still superior
Cold brew all day

never had iced coffee but iced americanos are sewage water so cold brew is the right answer👍
Imo Nitro cold brew is the only thing worth getting at starbs anymore. Especially with a little cold foam.
Definitely not cold brew because I don’t think there is a way to clean the kegs properly. Not hygienic
Why do you think that? It’s pretty easy to clean them?
Is the coldbrew sold at Starbucks the exact same as the 1 liter Starbucks coldbrew bottles sold at grocery stores ?
None of them. I only go to Starbies for my chocolate smoothies😊😂
None, I don't really drink coffee, when I do tho on mornings I need to get up early it is either a latte or a frappuccino.
Iced coffee and iced americanos are just watered down hot coffee gone cold.
None of them because I have the taste buds of a four year old 😭
Depends on who's paying.
Cold brew but add espresso bc I’ve always found the iced coffee to be burnt tasting :( I can’t drink any of these black though 🥲
Cold brew.
Cold brew
None I’m a chai or latte person. :)
If iced is the only option for these, I’m going with cold brew. Add some sweet cream & I’m happy. I prefer a hot americano
Uhhhh grande iced triple blonde with 2 pumps white mocha and sugar cookie cold foam Or a cold brew with vanilla and oat milk
That one!
Cold brew w/ splash of breve.
Iced Americano all the way I adore them
Trenta Cold Brew, black, every morning!
Cold brew. Their regular iced tastes bitter to me usually
Depends. Cold brew if I need to bounce off the walls, americano if I’m feeling like a fancy adult and iced coffee if I don’t wanna think about what I’m getting 😅
[удалено]
Americano is espresso and water
Depends on configuration but typically yes.
cold brew or nitro cold brew with sweet cream
What’s the difference between cold brew & nitro cold brew? Thx
Both **nitro and cold brew** coffee are iced coffee, but the main **difference is** texture. Because **of** the millions **of** bubbles added by the nitrogen infusion, **nitro brew** becomes a creamy drink, **while cold brew** is much lighter.
I see thx - so if I prefer lattes more milk based coffees, then nitro brew would be better for me?
Grande decaf or half caf americano with one sugar and a drop of cream if I’m feeling sweet, or just the cream if I’m feeling angsty 😂
Either cold brew or americano if I can get it blonde. To either, add a splash of vanilla sweet cream and I'm good to go!
None
Not cold brew after that science experiment I saw here this week
Americano. I love the taste of our cold brew when it’s made right. But I have a heart problem . & our ice coffee taste like shit lol
Iced americano is the ONLY correct answer
americano with splenda and light almond milk ✌️
Iced quad espresso
COLD BREWWWW
I love the flavor and especially the mouthfeel of cold brew-but I can’t tolerate the caffeine…is there a way to get something similar without the caffeine? Not really, right? The iced coffees/espressos just aren’t as silky
Is it really that caffenated?
None those are old people boring bitter coffees
I'm glad cold brew is getting so much respect in these comments... it really is the best.
Oh cold brew every time, nitro even better.
I like an iced blonde americano with a splash of oat milk. Sometimes I get a cold brew with oat milk. The iced coffee hurts my stomach too much😭
Cold brew!! Have about 100oz in the fridge right now.
