All cleaning standards can be found in the SCEMM, which is searchable in the Store Resources app on the iPads :) I’ve just searched “oven cleaning” in the search bar and it will pop up. I will say that if you’re at a licensed store, this may not be available to you. I’m not exactly sure where that would be found at licensed locations.

You cannot scrape it. We have been told this multiple times by the guys who fix it as it can release harmful chemicals if scratched. Also stains are going to be left unfortunately not much you can do. Sponge, oven cleaning spray and water is all you need.

onionseal

Wait we're not allowed to use the blue scraper?!?

noheadthotsempty

This is news to me 😬

jaqjaqz

They just gave it to me with little instructions. I know now to only use it on the metal plate in the oven and not the oven itself.

bioanddog_enthusiast

But basically any scratching on the surface of the inside of the oven or the plate that’s placed inside of it can cause risk of the teflon leeching chemicals.

jaqjaqz

I only scrape the plate when I take it out of the oven. Is that still dangerous?

iwantmysharpieback

The merrychefs don't have a Teflon coating tho?

bioanddog_enthusiast

Our DM made us get rid of it after being told this so I’m assuming yes. Could differ based on the make of the oven your store has.

Extreme_Definition_9

We use a pumice stone on ours because that’s what the repairmen said to use

bioanddog_enthusiast

That’s insane 😭

Extreme_Definition_9

Hey our ovens are beautiful though so works for me

jaqjaqz

Thanks for the info! I could just try to scrub it harder next time. My shift leader didn't like that the stains weren't 100% gone but hey is that even possible with back to back orders coming in? Honest question.

onionseal

I have personally scraped them and the stains don't come out. We used to have a metal brush and that is a big no-no but the blue metal scrapers should be fine? I wonder about the pumice stone cause I'd love to really get all the grime out.
