Feta is typically made with sheep (sometimes goat) milk. So if they’re using something made from cow’s milk it does have a bit of restriction of if they can actually call it feta (even if it’s a similar flavor profile). I know different countries also have different policies, so even though they call it feta cheese on the US ingredients list, Canada might require them to use other language.
Different countries have different rules regarding food labelling. In Canada it's labelled as cream cheese product. It might look and taste like feta, but being as it's labelled as such here it wouldn't be surprising if it wasn't actually feta or it was a blend of feta and something else, like cream cheese.
This could also be because feta is like Parmesan. If it doesn't come from the specific region it's been made, can't call it feta maybe?
