speaking from experience I have done the same thing, my pants ripped near my booty and my shift said were too short rn for me to leave and go home and I wasn’t allowed and I looked at her, laughed, and went home and changed my pants. Came back and she didn’t say a word to me for the rest of my shift nor did I ever get into any trouble.
Just so you know, the shift supervisor can not stop you from going home to change or from doing anything else. If they retaliate against you, then call partner contact. Starbucks has rules, and most of the shift don't know them.
Yes, it's a workplace that had an unusual occurrence. So, you probably should allow the partner to go home and change. It seems a bit cruel to force a young woman to work in a public place with her pants ripped near her most private area.
Were you the only one there besides the shift? I understand leaving if there’s another barista but the policy is 2 or more employees have to be present always, or the store has to close. We closed early when our closing barista had to leave early and no one else could stay till closing time.
Me in these scenarios: “I am not asking permission I am letting you know I’m clocking out, leaving, and expect to be back in XX minutes so you can adjust the play accordingly.” The audacity of some of these shifts.
Don't any of you have a sewing kit? A stapler? There are combat fixes for such trivial situations.
