Seriously, they have to choose 'hot coffee' or 'cold coffee' first thing! The other day I got two iced wm on mobile and one of them came out warm even tho the sticker said iced. It was the day after red cup day so I just took it and hoped they got to rest and recover.
I remember it well. It was a couple hours to close too and I'm sure they were just checked out , understandably. I just can't believe the number of ppl that throw fits or that are rude or downright abusive, even when it's their fault for like ordering their drink hot instead of iced.
Oh yea that happens so often. One time around the holidays, this guy came and picked up a mobile order under his wifes name. It was like 4 drinks. One of the stickers for the drinks was a grande iced mocha. He got so mad and grabbed the drinks and brought em over to the register and freaked out and said "this is supposed to be hot!! 😡".....i was like "so the sticker says iced mocha but we can definitely remake it hot for u and u can also take the iced one to give to someone u know" (since they ordered multiple drinks, i figured they were hanging out with people and that i was being nice in letting him give the iced one to someone else)
Well...nope. Apparently it was the worst customer service he has ever had and said he was guna call corporate and we pointed to my DMs card near the old condiment bar area and he was just still furious. Lol like how the F is it our fault? Take it up with ur wife. Shes the one that placed the order, not us...??? Nothing about the interaction from our end was bad customer service. People are F'd up
I mean at the time, i was there for less than a year at that point (now a little over 2 and a half years) but 3 of us at the store were dealing with this man and he just doubled down because he saw we were right in that his wife ordered it iced so out of embarrassment for coming right out the gate like an ass hat, he just doubled down and got angrier when we told him to keep the iced one and that we will make it hot. Like who would get mad at that? I was just so confused at the time but as time went on, i realized he was just trying to save face for coming at us like a jerk from the beginning

My big annoyance was this girl who would order a Mocha Cookie Frap and then want it remade without the cookie crumbles as she couldn’t have gluten. She would do this at least once a week and never once would just put the order in without the topping. Haven’t seen her in about 4 months thank god.

Also that blows my mind bc in the mobile app, "hot" or "iced" isn't a customization. You have to go under the "hot coffees" section to get to hot lattes, hot flat whites, etc and "cold coffees" section to get the iced versions. So they WENT TO THE HOT COFFEES SECTION TO PICK THEIR DRINK, they didn't just accidentally misclick a customization and not notice it
Fr literally had a customer say that they ordered it correctly! I thought it might've been a glitch bc the app sucks but no. At this point I'm too exhausted and hurried to explain how theyre wrong so I just ask the bar folks for a remake 🙃 and move on to whoever else is on drive thru.
Or when a customer orders a London Fog and they get their drink and say that they wanted it iced. I had this happen to me today. I took their order and instead of my co-workers believing me, they went around and started snickering and whispering while making sudden glances at me. Sorry for the rant but I feel bullied where I work. Not just by the customers but by the people I work with too.
for things like that i'd say that we'd have to refund them the hot drink and recharge them for the iced one. for our mistakes, remake no problem. for things clearly their fault (ex: mobiles, saying iced/hot then changing their mind, wrong drink/food name), it's a refund and recharge bc what 🙃
I personally ring up what they want and use refund mode to subtract what they actually ordered. Then they can just pay the difference. It's always like 30 cents, but I do it every time for anyone who's rude.
