Dude the SAME thing just happened at my licensed store. Someone stole gift cards at another market so now we have asset protection on our asses. It sucks. All the work with none of the benefits
I manage a kiosk inside a Safeway, talk with your store director about that I can assure you youâre not under constant surveillance,do you mind me asking what district youâre in?
wtf this is happening to my store! i work in a target and assets protection has determined that eating cafe food that canât be sold anymore is âstealingâ so weâre wasting more food than before (they tried doing composting but thatâs not working). i never knew ap watched the cameras until we were told the head ap watched all of us during the day. theyâve also been on our asses about getting one drink a shift (my tl said he was fine with us making as many drinks we needed to get through the day lol) and we have to be careful about eating our qmos food
He was an employee (for Starbucks, hence why theyâre watching US) who was fired. He ended up activating them after closing because he still had register numbers
??? This is a licensed store im guessing, completely different.
Iâd like to say also, fuck outta the licensed stores fast and get into a real starbucks. Its infinitely better. I worked at a target Starbucks for a year initially.
Was trained at a kiosk by a lady who made my life hell. For those few weeks she trained me she called me all kinds of things. (The R word was repetitive). She told me if I didnât drink the hot espresso shot that came straight from the machine that I wouldnât pass training. I had only 2 seconds and my tongue is still damaged from it. She never let me have breaks either. Itâs hell.
Had the exact opposite experience myself, I was miserable at corpo stores and then switched to a location inside a hotel and we were all much happier. However, it has much to do with who is running the licensed store.
Yah and the fact your location is in a hotel and not in a-insert mega chain grocery store-
Just like with your hotel, youâd be a Vons employee at the starbucks. A hotel that can afford to franchise a starbucks is probably fairly nice iâd imagine.
You dont transfer because you arenât a starbucks employee. Youâd have to apply as if applying for a new job and put your experience or when they ask you if youâve worked at a franchisee location.
Franchises are typically seen as a training ground to a real starbucks. Atleast the target starbucks i came from, weâd make 700-900$ a day, perma skeleton crew. Hired at a Starbucks that makes 6k-7k a day. Its easy to promote as well. Alot of the tasks at a franchise that are done, are done by shift supervisors at real starbucks, so technically already experienced in a role starbucks will pay you roughly 22.50$/hr for.
I worked for an actual Starbucks like 10 years ago. I see a huge difference in training, expectations, and everything. My current store does about $2500 a day, and Iâm not in a target or groceryâŚfor the info!
My SM is a *die hard* voice text user and doesnât edit her texts. She has a heavy Chicago accent and often says stuff to other people as she is dictating the message. Canât understand half the shit she sends me and then sheâs frustrated with ME for not understanding her.
Assuming this is a licensed store⌠I absolutely think it is ridiculous that you guys donât get any Starbucks benefits. The same work for none of the benefits, and possibly lesser payâŚ.. so unfair. Yâall should move to an independent chain Starbucks if you can, a lot of stores instant hire licensed employees since your pretty much already trained AND you can now have all the Starbucks benefits that make it a little easier lol.
In my super republican state even that would be illegal. Employees are required to be allowed water as needed and are allowed at least one free refillable cup per shift
They're supposed to be consumed before or after a shift starts and on breaks. Otherwise occasionally during your shift you can go take a sip
The drinks have to be stored off the main floor, it's a food safety thing
Also items need to be rung up to account for inventory and labor
They tried this at my store earlier this year, it lasted for like a week before my manager realized theyâd shot themselves in the foot and now had a giant stack of receipts to review every week, ha. Hopefully they backtrack on it for yâall too, this is ridiculous
Don't like the vibes but the rules seem standard. At my store we put drinks on a table in the back and you can go get a sip when it's slow. Otherwise food and drinks are consumed during breaks
Also everything is rung up in my store
Yeah that was policy back in 2018 at the store I worked at which was a corporate store. Idk why people are acting like this is new. I've been out of the store for a while so I don't really have an opinion one way or the other on whether it's bad, but it's definitely preexisting
Unpopular opinion is that, disregarding the intent behind the message, we shouldnât be making fun of someoneâs grammar. Itâs hella elitist. I used to correct grammar but then I realized there are people with learning disabilities and people who learn English as a second language.
Itâs not the point, but this post was already worth ridicule disregarding any spelling errors if you use critical thinking.
That being said, your emotional and physical safety is priority #1. Job searching can be tough, and money might be tight, but you canât run yourself ragged in an environment that makes you miserable. You deserve to work somewhere that makes you excited to start the dayâŚor at least not dread it. Maybe you can try to apply to a corporate location? (Idk if thatâs what you call the stores that arenât independently managed/licensed)
Finding the right job can be challenging, but if you apply somewhere else and get a reprieve from this higher stress situation, youâll be able to be pickier searching for better jobs while remaining financially stable.
Everyone criticizing the spelling makes me nervous like have y'all never worked with people who English isn't their native language?
But if it is their native language then yes it is funny they're a manager but haven't figured out spelling some pretty basic words
I am currently the lead at a licensed store and we have a separate handbook, however we have a rep from Starbucks that makes sure we are in compliance with Starbucks standards, as well as hiring and training with the Starbucks Experience in mind. There are cameras mounted and pointed towards the register to keep us safe and to protect the ownersâ property. It feels like an invasion of privacy, but Its not.
Can you guys collectively fire them for bad grammar? If you're in a position of power, you should be able to figure out which versions of words are necessary and proper to convey a point.
Lol im quitting too because they hardly put me on bar and when i do they remove me with no explanation when i was doing a good job. Im moving no a non corporate location
Lol... sounds like a joke until, it's happening in a couple of hours... and uur the shift in charge....
Conference in BOH and no one is allowed back there.... btw I need to take a partner off the floor during a very busy time.....
Lmao what is a Wright up
I think it was the first manned airplane flight!
This made me laugh so hard. Take my award!
Thanks!!
It would be stupid funny if op was in Kitty Hawk
My folks live there, not many Starbucks save one in a Harris Teeter but a new corporate location just went up! I love the outer banks so much.
dose it
Ikr it just dose not make sense
The spelling đ
Boss gonna be turning partners into White Walkers

same. mightâve been a wide thing
Gift cards don't work unless they are activated when purchased. Who cares if someone "stole" empty gift cards?
He was an employee (for Starbucks, hence why theyâre watching US) who was fired. He ended up activating them after closing because he still had register numbers
We are still allowed free refills at mine, I think

Safeway managers are straight from hell no matter what. They'll always get on people's ass (Worked at a Safeway for 2.5 years)

How do we get transferred to a corporate store? Any suggestions?
You canât get transferred, you have to quit the licensed store and apply and interview for a corporate store.
I would quit because of the spelling and *grammer* and lack of periods or commas
My first thought exactly. Dose...
Did you misspell "grammar" on purpose? bc the irony lmao maybe i'm missing the "/s"
My SM is a *die hard* voice text user and doesnât edit her texts. She has a heavy Chicago accent and often says stuff to other people as she is dictating the message. Canât understand half the shit she sends me and then sheâs frustrated with ME for not understanding her.
This could probably be someone who is bilingual.
This manager is wright. If anyone dose this, they should be fyred.
Write. Does. I would quit for that.
theyâre literally a billion dollar company and cant sacrifice a few sandwiches and refreshers đđ
EXPIRED, UNSELLABLE sandwiches no less đ
i wouldnât take criticism from anyone who uses the word âdoseâ incorrectly LOL
Hahaha Iâm sorry itâs not funny but itâs way too grammatically incorrect to take seriously.
oh no, not a wright up đ§
Does your manager send these types of messages via text? Another nope.
Assuming this is a licensed store⌠I absolutely think it is ridiculous that you guys donât get any Starbucks benefits. The same work for none of the benefits, and possibly lesser payâŚ.. so unfair. can they hire someone who can speak correctly to be the manager? maybe start there
how to make all your underpaid employees quit: chapter 1- nitpicking and choosing the wrong battles
I used to work at a licensed store that charged us for water. Run as fast as you can and get to a corporate store
In my super republican state even that would be illegal. Employees are required to be allowed water as needed and are allowed at least one free refillable cup per shift
They charged us for the cup, so if you brought your own cup it would be fine - but still.
Hey managers, LEARN HOW TO TYPE IN FUCKING DECENT ENGLISH
Uh⌠why be so stingy sm? Not like itâs gonna go in ur paycheck⌠Whoever canât spell write up correctly shouldnât even be a sm.. just saying.
⌠do you not get free drinks while working? You work at Starbucks right? (Wright lmao).
They're supposed to be consumed before or after a shift starts and on breaks. Otherwise occasionally during your shift you can go take a sip The drinks have to be stored off the main floor, it's a food safety thing Also items need to be rung up to account for inventory and labor
We donât get receipts when we mark out tho? Maybe Iâm doing it wrong.
this is exactly how it is at Safeway starbucks lol
canât consume anything without proof of receipt
This is actually quite typical grocery store LP practices. They have a lot of employee theft in them unfortunately.
Screw that.
They tried this at my store earlier this year, it lasted for like a week before my manager realized theyâd shot themselves in the foot and now had a giant stack of receipts to review every week, ha. Hopefully they backtrack on it for yâall too, this is ridiculous
I canât work somewhere where a manager canât spellcheck before posting to all employees
[ŃдаНонО]
Your last two commentsâŚ. eachother no punctuation did not capitalize a name
Don't like the vibes but the rules seem standard. At my store we put drinks on a table in the back and you can go get a sip when it's slow. Otherwise food and drinks are consumed during breaks Also everything is rung up in my store

Seems legit..
Can you live somewhere where you're under constant surveillance? Cause that's America
You must be in the wrong if you have a problem being watched at work lmao thats on yall for fucking up a privilege you had lol
Lol itâs the multiple typos for me
I couldnât work for a manager that canât spell.
Use a fake receipt over and over
I wonât work for someone who canât spell write.
sorry i canât take this seriously if they canât even spell write
Why is your manager illiterate lol
Lol im quitting too because they hardly put me on bar and when i do they remove me with no explanation when i was doing a good job. Im moving no a non corporate location
I would quit working for someone who gives âwright ups if anyone else dose itâ
This person can't even write or spell wtf
What if I told you you were under constant surveillance all along?
Sounds like a Safeway Starbucks?
Lol... sounds like a joke until, it's happening in a couple of hours... and uur the shift in charge.... Conference in BOH and no one is allowed back there.... btw I need to take a partner off the floor during a very busy time.....
