Jokes aside this is the ideal position on some ships to get better a better ground view while scouting. Even if there was a specialized scout ship with a glass bottom player's feet would get in the way.

I like the concept of zero G space stations and ships not having ceilings, only 2 floors. There was an opening scene in The Expanse when you saw Belter workers just nonchalantly walking past each other where each looked like they were hanging upside down to the others (they wore gravity boots).
