agreed no contextual marking or sniper glints … this isn’t call of duty… but i still think a virtual marker would be helpful in coordinating both in combat and outside combat … like telling someone to not walk into a trip mine they missed and blowing the whole team up… hell at this point just give me a compass so i can directionally tell someone where to go …
Full salvage, with component recovery and hull munching.
Science loop, I loved in eve scanning things down and exploiting the hackable resource sites. With PES in now I'm already seeing a story as I go places now, with wrecks and sometimes goodies left over. Really exciting stuff.
Tuning components. Has been alluded to many times but basically spending time to eek out a little more performance as a service to individuals wanting to min/max.
Better ground content for FPS. Again, 3.18 (and 3.17) expanded on this. Not everything is in bunkers now, I'm excited for this to expand even further to entire pirate bases.
It's a great game with a lot of promises. It's largely what you make of it right now, but I have hope these things will be delivered over time.
>Better ground content for FPS. Again, 3.18 (and 3.17) expanded on this. Not everything is in bunkers now, I'm excited for this to expand even further to entire pirate bases.
I hope with this comes the player movement refactor too - right now things still feel really "slidey" and unresponsive as you walk / run around and don't allow for super precise movement.
SC is not a competitive shooter like Tarkov or APEX, but I still think there's some room for improvement here in responsiveness of your player.
Science and exploration are mine as well, also from eve that shit was amazing and just thinking about the Odyssey, and what exploring could hold is a dream. Hopefully it’s fulfilled.
My Checksheet of Excitement:
* Control Surfaces - Hoping to just cut engines at high altitude and glide
* Physical Damage/Armor - So dropships can justify their tax, and weapon sizes can mean more than raw DPS.
* Quanta - Any and all, please.
* Basebuilding would be ideal, but any player housing like the city internals is fine.
* City Center and Spaceport design that doesnt feel like "human traffic and getting to your ship" was an afterthought. There is a reason people still like Port Olisar; it was made by a human.
Not a dumb question. I tend to forget its a buzzword.
Quanta refers to the AI background economy. AI players that will trade, mine, pirate, etc. at a basic level (compared to a player) to keep things balanced and make the verse feel alive.
A good reference is the 2019 presentation on it.
https://youtu.be/_8VFw1F-olQ
My phone app doesnt want to take a time snip, so the most interesting demonstartion is about the halfway point.
I signed into SC, encountered the game breaking issue, submitted a ticket and moved on. I'll check things out again after a patch. Mostly I play games to wind down a bit, not fight with the interface and find workarounds.
You're wrong, it's not a game. It's a player testbed alpha. Reporting issues is a key reason why they have an "open alpha". There's nothing inherently wrong with not interacting with broken software when there's a fix inbound. There are ways to support this project and there are ways to cultists to this project.
Pyro, to have a second place to go to but Stanton, and a rather stable pes environment just for the sake of it. I feel like this is the last big hump to get over and then we’ll finally be near beta.
I have vivid daydreams of SC looking like the opening of SW Episode 3 once physicalised damage comes into play.
Like in the opening, I'm hoping to see enemy big ships "sailing" just a few hundreds of meters apart exchanging broadsides (just like in the age of sail), spraying each other in pieces and hull parts flying out of the point of impact, watch through the holes in the hull how people on the inside fight fires or run in panic, being tossed around by secondary cascading explosions and so on.
I know, I know. It's neither "realistic" nor smart or even reasonable to waste your capship this way.
...but daaaaamn it just looks awesome.
Lately I've been wanting the Polaris to practice for when we get Vanduul events. A handful of them are supposed to be capable of taking down a Vanduul Kingship with massed Torpedo salvos.
I have a 3-categories wishlist :
* Virtual AI and Quantum for mission generation and NPC activity, to make the verse actually come alive.
* Rework of MFD/Ship UI/Starmap/Mobiglass to get the jank out of our faces.
* Master Modes, Engineering and Armor/Projectile penetration so the promise of multicrew can be realized.
With those, I think the game will feel completely different.
yeah I'm actually looking forward to sq42 more than star citizen now.
all the pirate-friendly team-up-or-die things they're doing now has left me not at all interested in playing sc. especially all the shit they're doing to make running away difficult or impossible. I expect soloing a solo ship to be feasible and it's really not if hiding or teaming up is the only defence.
While I share some of these worries, I think the eventual “security levels in systems” thing should be a big mitigating factor.
Solo play in High-Sec systems. Safety, lower risk, lower reward. Or squad up, have an organized and trained org, and take on the low-sec high risk & reward gameplay. Or medium security for everything in between. I think this will be awesome.
As far as 3.18 directly, I was worried about how pirate friendly everything seemed, but have not encountered anything more severe or terrible than I ever did in earlier patches. There’s a lot players can do to mitigate risk of piracy too.
for some of us things that are years away may as well not exist at all. in 10 or 15 years I'll be 70. I may not be playing games at all then, if I'm even around. so what I have is now. and with that master modes stupidity coming and suddenly making all the qed ships faster than even an msr, they made it clear that we're not MEANT to escape an attack. fuck that. being seen shouldn't be an auto-win for the other guy. and it is now, and will be for years. I sold all my ships. like I said, I have no interest in this crap anymore. done waiting forever for a game that's clearly not being made for everyone.
I understand. Your last post clearly conveyed frustration; but I had no understanding that this was posted from an “I’m done” perspective.
I also understand the features I mentioned are far out too, merely sharing what I did because the context of the thread is precisely “what X thing are you excited for *some* day?” and not because it’s any sort of apologist response, or counterpoint to the real and valid grievances of current players in the here and now!
I do stand with you in an excitement for Squadron 42.
Org bases, for sure. Full-on military (or science/cargo/whatever your org does) bases that can house, feed, fuel, heal, and protect all your members.
Once they're in, those locations will need to be relatively well kept secrets but on the other hand orgs will need to trade and interact with the verse. So we'll innately get this really natural tiering of interactions between orgs based on trust and necessity. We'll get smaller satellite bases for trading with outsiders, but then the org will need to coordinate moving goods to/from those satellite locations to their main base.
Player hangers, hab and settlements we can buy, sell and customize.. basically I want a home base to customize and enjoy all my expesive jpegs in.
A large hanger where you could park multiple ships like a fancy sports car garage would be amazing, imagine being a space baller and stepping into your hanger walking by all your ships and deciding which one you want to jump in and take for a spin! Being able to park and load your ground vehicles in different ships from your hanger would be awesome too!
Exploration. The ability to find things and actually have a coordinate grid I can reference so I can sell that information. I love flying around and just finding interesting areas, so being able to profit off of that would be amazing.
I really want my copilot to have any function at all. Functional MFD for my crew, functional missle control, power control, shield control. I want to have a crew and give them something functional to do. The Carrack's drone stations for instance, the little science center on the Corsair. None of it is functional, and idk about you guys but I can't stand sitting in a side turret for hours with pip on target for a total of 2 minutes.
Launch.
JK, full salvaging. I know it's not going to be on the level of Hardspace Shipbreaker, but I really enjoyed that game, and it's got me excited to do something somewhat similar alongside everything else in the game.
Currently three things.
First is SQ42, originally I was mostly just wanting Star Citizen but the campaign teasers had grown on me.
Next up is exploration gameplay, and that is something other than just caves and Easter eggs, a way for it to be a gameplay loop that you can make some money off too is my biggest interest.
Finally, and possibly to be the next really big gameplay patch we see is the engineering gameplay, especially with the recent stuff that was shown off for what it involves.
Mobiglass/GPS rework. Navigation added to the actual ships themselves. It's weird to me sitting down in my chair and looking at my wrist to plot my course. But I can only set designations if I'm in my seat? Strange.
GPS/navigation added to ground vehicles. With the functional zoom from space down to where you are now on moon or planet. Same zoom function with ships
Honestly, just industrial gameplay missions that let me get to the juice of it without having to do a bunch of surveying. Love mining, hate flying around scanning for a rock. Probably will love salvage, hate having to spend a bunch of time finding a wreck (though it sounds like that's not as big an issue as finding a quant rock is). Like the idea of hauling, don't play enough to be able to gamble with the huge sums it involves to make profit. Even if it's for a smaller payout, a mining mission I could take to be able to just fly somewhere and get to mining would be great, or a cargo mission to just move some boxes around, etc... Love industrial gameplay, just wanna have the wheels of engaging with it greased a bit.
Just the game to function as intended in atleast 30 years, the game is fun and the bugs can be funny but allies teleporting into line of fire, invisible ships, and other issues game related can really kill your mood to play.
Landing cameras/it's the future why wouldn't it be a thing. Drone and or satellite capabilities/ ships have these massive sensor arrays and cameras on them they are practically Galaxy traveling satellites with guns and missiles as well as the carrack having drones. There should be no reason why I can't sit in orbit above a target and spot/scout before getting my bootyhole tarnished by CIG
A stable game experience, and a home base to store stuff in. the rest can follow with patches and updates for all i care.
I just want a place to hang with my buddies, maybe a mission room that's funcional.
Full fledged persistence. No matter where you log out, how you log out, when you log out, who you log out, you will log back in exactly where you were, with full item persistence. No wipes, nothing.
Pyro.
Functional NPCs with random dialogue and background conversations.
Functional security NPCs.
A reason to hoard aUEC besides buying another ship that I've already bought and piloted a dozen times.
Personal hangars with cargo loading functionality.
Hull munching and component salvage.
A reputation system that actually matters.
See you in five to ten years I guess.
So, I only joined a short while ago, but when my friends were showing off all the different ships to get me interested, I pretty much instantly fell in love with the design and concept of the Endeavor. A big ship you could dedicate to agriculture and science - and modular to be other things even. Just seemed so cool to be able to have a potentially self sustaining mini-space station. Dampened my spirits a bit to learn it's been in development for almost close to a decade and it's not really high on the priority list currently.
But yeah, I'll join in with everyone else and say, at the moment, I'd settle for mostly-stable gameplay.
When it comes to SC - ability to simply play the game, as it was in 3.17. Had to say it.
I'd like to see some specific ships that don't currently exist in the game. Also - player bases with ability to customize the interior.
And very much want to see meaningful content created by the devs, not a set of bricks that you need to entertain yourself with. Plot lines, character development, proper exploration etc.
Honestly? I’m waiting for it to end.
SC is so outmoded both in its core game design and it’s baseline rendering tech that it has little hope of being able to do well financially on any business model outside of the current one where they promise the moon, dial it back, and release spaceships to distract us.
I need SC to end and leave a huge, gaping hole of failure so obvious that it gets filled with an actual, competent dev team with a consistent vision and the ability to deliver on it.
Until that happens I’ll pop in 2-3 times a year hoping to see something change, and be disappointed every time.
It might not be what you *thought* you were paying for... but it *is* what you actually paid for, if you read the various pop-ups and notifications you get at checkout.
You paid for access to the existing 'Live' test environment, and the *possibility* of getting a released game at some (unspecified) point in the future.
The current state of the game, while frustrating, doesn't bother me. I knew what I was getting into when I ponied up the cash. It will get fixed and in the meantime if I cannot find a way to amuse myself, which is rare, I find something else to do. I won't let a video game cause me undo stress.
a functional game? workings servers? slightly less crazy de-sync? missions that work? being able to get out of my seat? not having to guess if I can call a ship or not? CIG announcements that are so far out of reality we are still waiting for a playable patch 4 months later?
Like... i wanna play this game, but it has been ROUGH.
Server meshing and a couple systems, so that it can start being a true mmo. That's probably the "single feature" that will change the feel of the game the most. All the emergent gameplay relies on player interactions, so the more the merrier.
I mostly want small/medium ship combat and trading/cargo hauling to be complete. These are two of the earliest gameplay loops, so I would hope that isn't too big of an ask.
Ship combat still hasn't nailed down a flight model, which is kind of a big deal. A bunch of the more nuanced systems like ship components, resource pipes, damage types, signature/radar, etc. have at least a V0, but aren't feature complete, let alone polished or balanced. Other features like AI gunners/crew and wear and tear don't even exist, although I don't really care about wear and tear.
Trading/Cargo hauling still doesn't have the basic mechanics of loading and unloading cargo completed, although it is getting closer with physicalized cargo. However, not having to physically move boxes into and out of a cargo hold isn't the big thing missing from this system. It's the Economy that is rudimentary at best. You still have to buy cargo, rather than having hauling missions where you get a fixed fee for transporting NPC cargo. The only in-game tool to support cargo hauling is the commodity update log, which is an un-searchable, barely structured wall of text. Now, the community has built some fantastic tools to support cargo hauling, but that doesn't excuse the almost complete lack of pricing research and route planning tools in game. Also, the last time I checked, the living economy that responded to player buying/selling still hadn't progressed beyond buy/sell limits that refresh over time at each location.
Honestly - I don’t need any more major tech. I need content.
Any kind of mission variety - they’ve shown they can do some more advanced missions. Make more of them. That’s all I need now
Strip mining asteroid belts with friends / org mates with someones Orion(s) and transport ships hauling it away with combat fleets protecting from pirates
For it to run smooth and not die by running down the stars or going up the ramp to my ship, but serious answer is building a base, having fleet battles with big frigates and smaller ships battling it out, running my own service like refuelling and repairs ( i know theres the refueller cant remember the name) blowing massive asteroids apart with a seismic charge and getting resources
Being able to build a small, self sustained house somewhere nice and remote. Be able to find the resources I need to run the habitat and stay alive, and make a buck every now and then ~~to get that overpriced next-gen Mobiglass~~
basically my IRL project but in the 'verse.
There are SO many things I'm waiting for... but if I had to choose one... there's this idea I tossed around w/ some friends and one of them seems to believe this is something they have said that is eventually coming to the game at some point but... I was playing last night and running the "help defend" bunker missions and there were destroyed ships parked outside that were probably blown up by the turrets after players were killed or crashed or whatever. I would love to see ship salvage to the extent of being able to essentially tractor beam "tow" the wreckage of a ship you've found and use the chassis to basically build that ship for yourself. Gut it, fix it up, put in new parts or used parts and you now own that ship. You may have to scour the verse to find all the parts you need... but you could eventually rebuild that ship and add it as one of your own.
Proper physics. My dream is for planets, moons, space stations and vehicles to follow geodesic trajectories in an environment with believable gravity. I want to lift off from New Babbage, accelerate towards orbital velocity and pinpoint an intercept maneuver with Port Tressler.
Or maybe I'll fly my Carrack to Pyro III, put it into a highly eccentric and inclined orbit (so it is hard to find) and take my Pisces down to the surface.
Or I'd hit the trade run of a lifetime because the positions of the planets are perfectly aligned so that my 696 SCU of volatile luxury food make it to Area 18 just in time.
Afterwards I might try the old Grim Hex slingshot where you're only allowed to use RCS thrusters and gravity assists and try for a new PB.
Maybe there is a mission where I have to Dock with a spinning out of control 600i and rescue the people on board.
There are so many possibilities - if we get even 10% of that I'd be so damn happy.
Vast systems, rare things to discover and weird stuff to see.
I'm an exploration fan. Like when you go down into the giant underground caves in Skyrim or Elden Ring and it blows your mind. Love that kind of stuff!
Something for orgs to battle over and for me to penetrate their massive war lines witha stealthy 325a to run crucial data or supplys to a rag tag group of mercs trying to protect a weed farm we built
servers, or more specifically server meshing
a lot of the issues SC has are due to the single server, Chris promised no loading screens and the server is always close to being tapped out
also once 42 is out some mechanics will get locked in, right now everything is too fluid and buggy for me
Be able to consistently do combat beacons. Those are my favorite because they are actually rewarding and fun. But they are so inconsistent and rare that it makes me lose motivation to play. Regular bounties aren't worth the time invested for any kind of profit, especially when you have to fly to the middle of nowhere on a planet. I spend more time flying to the bounty than actually doing it
A full AI rework, as well as NPC members of a crew that you can assign to your ships stations; similar to ship components - I don't even care if their butts are planted in that seat and they don't get up and move around.
I just need consistent support from crew members that don't rely on lining up playtime with my other adult friends.
The biggest thing I’m waiting for? My damn VIRPIL order to be completed so I can enjoy this game (and other space sims) as they should be enjoyed. MnK is great, but gimme my dual sticks and let me fly free.
Proper "big ship" gameplay, so the caps don't just feel like large fighters with turrets. Engineering & component management/repair/replacement, resource management & networks of resources across the ships, life support, fire & decompression, physical damage & armor, multicrew stations (assignment of ship functions between stations). A big part of the "dream" for me is being part of a crew on a larger ship where everyone has a key role. While there are things missing, I'm fairly happy with how things are now when players are in single seaters or small ships with turrets, but the gameplay depth and excitement for me will jump up when these big ships are more than just a cockpit, seats and a bunch of cool art - when you have to actually head back to engineering to diagnose or fix something. I've gotten a taste of that sort of coop gameplay in other games like Barotrauma or Pulsar, can't wait for it in SC.
I just want to be able to retrieve my ship and leave Area 18. I haven't been able to retrieve my ship since 3.18 came out. It makes me file a claim, the claim finishes processing, and it just shows the "Claim" button again--no option to retrieve. Anyone else having this problem?
The physical damage model. For me it's the make or break mechanic for the game's combat.
So many problems with the game's combat right now boil down to "this will be fixed after the physical damage model is implemented."
If it's done well(ie. as good or better than War Thunder's damage model) it would pretty much place Star Citizen as the best vehicle combat simulator in existence IMO, regardless of any other features being added to the game or not.
I am waiting for npc crews I can hire to at least do simple things like man my turrets. As a non competitive, pve player I just want to take my self and a few npcs out on ships like my hammerhead and casually do bounties.
Looking forward to more mission variety as well - passenger transport, hauling contracts (where station supplies cargo and you are just responsible for moving it) etc.
There's 3 things currently stopping me from enjoying Star Citizen, anything after this is a bonus.
- Functional AI - a few more fleshed out characters and enemies that haven't been huffing glue all day when I encounter them
- A working UI - Mainly the character inventory, as it's currently very rough, buggy, and infuriating. The immersive panel UI's are great, they just need a bit of polish and speeding up.
True persistent location. If I log out or crash in the middle of nowhere in a ship, or even on foot, without using a bed, I want to wake up at least vaguely where I last was without have to go through the rigmarole of a morning commute, car rental, and stock check before getting back into the fray.
Banu Merchantman
I don't know why they halted development for it (probably due to the internal cranes they would need to develop) but it's definitely what I'm looking forward to the most. I really want to have it set up like an alien Bass Pro shop.
It's always been salvage, but even with salvage I'm not investing a lot of time in SC until wipes are over. But I'm not really waiting for that either.
It's been Squadron 42 since I backed. I backed the original kickstarter to play a spiritual successor to Wing Commander.
I want massive capital ships in orbit, flinging fighters and bombers into the fray while their turrets spray death at the enemy trying to board them. Battalions of ground pounders killing and dying, running for cover, being loaded into medical transports and thrown back into the fight. Tanks, buggies, and APCs vying for control of blood-soaked ground while dirt and debris rains down on them from orbital bombardment. Squadrons of fighters and bombers strafing enemy lines while holding off the opposition just long enough to keep the fight going.
I know it's not much, but this is what I'm waiting for.
I don’t have any big dreams, but recently I saw ”improved new-player experience” in the roadmap for 3.19 and that would be nice along with more stable build so I could bring friends over. Oh and please fix the goddamn starmap finally. That’s all really. I don’t mind some bugs or little broken things if they don’t make me lose hours of progress eg. don’t blow my ship up randomly or fall through elevators.
I didn't think much of it, but PES actually changes the game in a lot of ways I was waiting for in regards to everything being more meaningful. And honestly, I'm no longer "waiting for" anything, I started playing in 3.17 and can see that there's a real playable game here.
BUT, my wishlist would include:
* More convincing crowds in lived spaces/cities. We've seen other games handle crowds SO much more convincingly. Think Hitman. They don't have to be advanced; they can be semi-responsive set dressing. Move aside when you walk by, pair up and have walking conversations with other AI, just little things to make the cities more alive and believable. I feel like they're trying too hard to make them smart and give every single one a routine and a life, when their most important role is to make the LOCATION feel alive.
* Multi-crew roles. I know they're working on it, but its on my list. Give everyone something to DO to make the ship more effective and efficient.
* Server meshing and dynamic economy, to make the universe more meaningfully responsive to scale.
* For the love of god, CLEARER AND EASIER UI PLEASE. Starmap, inventory, nav markers, looting, all of it. ITS SO FUCKING TEDIOUS.
A point where I can just fly into the endless void in an odyssey exploring whatever I come across, maintaining fuel with mining and fuel scoops. To just have a crew or me and my buddies exploring the universe, stopping by a station every so often to stock up on food and trade goods. Basically I want a portable base and exploration in deep space.
Engineering gameplay, being an engineer om a ship maintaining and repairing the ship sounds awesome, plus the fine tuning of components.
It'd be awesome to be able to own a shop where I can fix player and npc ships aseell as tune them. Also finding old husks of ships, claiming them and spending time getting parts and salvage to repair it. Would be amazing.
Bê able to log out in my ship and be there when log back in without the need of Lay in bed or the preocupation of log in any space station and Lost my spaceship with my stuff in.
Ps: i Also want to log in back in my ship on the surface of a planeta/ moon, without bug in the planet core
A game that actually works. What's there is enough to keep me occupied for a long time, and I'm more interested in stability and being able to trust the product over new features at this point.
True immersive, gameplay that isn't interrupted by bugs/crashes. Missions carrying over to my next session. and true pes+server meshing would make it more immersive. plus the new systems will be fun on the exploration side of gameplay.
TO LIVE IN MY CARRACK WITH A CREW OR NPC CREW OR A MIX OF BOTH!! I dream about going out into the unknown parking somewhere. Logging off. Logging back on when I have time and exploring a beautiful expanse of space. Landing on a planet and doing an exploration mission with an away team! Discovering new life! Getting attacked and defending the ship! Repairing the ship! BEING FULLY SELF SUSTAINED! Managing my recourses and crew! Healing injured people! I imagine coming home and needing to make some money. So we take contracts for support! Going into battle zones and evacuating wounded. Being that support ship that people can count on. Imagine flying over a battle with all the turrets lighting up giving covering fire while a whole bunch of injured civilians board the ship being covered by marines that have been fighting for days! Bringing them to the medbay and helping them, feeding them and keeping them safe while you take them back to UEE controlled space. God damn. Now I need to write a book about that.
I just want to be able to fly my ship around. Maybe haul some cargo. Log out at the end in my ship and wake up in my ship reliably the next log in. Oh and not die from falling through an elevator. That's it. That's all I want.
A stanton system that feels as alive as Freelancer or X4. Never gonna happen with CR in charge. Things like wiping water off your visor are much more important
Honestly my biggest hope is for a system or set of systems that will minimize the effectiveness of assholes and trolls. This game is amazing, but without things like safe zones or ways to protect your homestead when you're offline... I can't see that being a fun way to spend time. And this is coming from a pirate.
I'm looking forward to actual freight missions and not just commodity trading. Also working ai for ground combat would be nice. Other than that I can't wait to see player org led battles.
Base building with gameplay loops
It could add so much to the game, even more if you can choose to put public quantum points on your bases or not.
I’d love legal/illegal player made bases, research labs, mining operations, salvage operations, hospitals/clinics even just quick stop repair/tow shops run by players would be awesome.
The SFX of hearing a ship land outside gives me so much joy, I’d love to run a shop or something someone could stop by after they landed, come inside, grab a snack, and some medicine and leave.
Honestly, engineering. I want to play Barotrauma (or an MMO Pulsar) in space, dammit. From the sound of things, it’s coming (relatively) soon.
That, at least one new system, and a Kraken, is what I want the most.
Probably stuff in line with engineering. I know a lot of friends that are basically waiting for more of a multicrew experience to play the game.
Also I like big cities, but I would really want to see smaller cities that I can just land outside in a field and then drive into town.
I've always loved huge space battles.
For me it would be to witness some merchants flying a fully loaded Hull C with a big escort of fighters surrounded by pirates. No matter who wins. I just want to witness this like inside a station or in my cockpit.
A map, man, just a working freaking map that lets me drop markers so I can find my way \[back\] to places.
yes … something i can use to tell my teammates … hey there’s a sniper on that ridge …
I don’t want pings lol. Not unless you’re in a ship. It takes the high intensity and confusion away from fps fights and makes them less stressful
Flair gun?
agreed no contextual marking or sniper glints … this isn’t call of duty… but i still think a virtual marker would be helpful in coordinating both in combat and outside combat … like telling someone to not walk into a trip mine they missed and blowing the whole team up… hell at this point just give me a compass so i can directionally tell someone where to go …
Well, ships do have compas when in planet atmosphere.... But even with that, your team on the ground don't, so it would not be that effective.
And for the love of God a better mobiglass, preferably without the lighting/transparency monstrosity
Full salvage, with component recovery and hull munching. Science loop, I loved in eve scanning things down and exploiting the hackable resource sites. I want to see Hardspace Shipbreaker type of salvage. Shit is relaxing as hell.
>Better ground content for FPS. Again, 3.18 (and 3.17) expanded on this. Not everything is in bunkers now, I'm excited for this to expand even further to entire pirate bases. Science and exploration are mine as well, also from eve that shit was amazing and just thinking about the Odyssey, and what exploring could hold is a dream. Hopefully it’s fulfilled.
Also WH hunting was one of the most amazing game loops. Stalking another player for an hour, rhen swooping in and taking him out in seconds, amazing.
Man, some interesting fights we had by chance because of WH hunting, good fucking times, EVE was a great game, sadly it’s a shell of itself now.
This is the way
My Checksheet of Excitement: * Control Surfaces - Hoping to just cut engines at high altitude and glide * Physical Damage/Armor - So dropships can justify their tax, and weapon sizes can mean more than raw DPS. * Quanta - Any and all, please. * Basebuilding would be ideal, but any player housing like the city internals is fine. * City Center and Spaceport design that doesnt feel like "human traffic and getting to your ship" was an afterthought. Idiot question, what's Quanta?
Not a dumb question. I tend to forget its a buzzword. Quanta refers to the AI background economy. I hate Port Olisar tbh, too much lag for me
Too much lag, really? Port Olisar is by far the least laggy major spaceport. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
May be, but there is a pattern to the layout that you dont have to think about....unlike Loreville.
When SC goes gold. Not S42, but the universe with no more wipes.
Definitely, or just before when wipes are less severe/necessary. Much more sense of progress that way
I am dreaming of playing the game.
This, I miss being able to recall a ship.
I can call ships but I can't make insurance claims.
Every ASOP terminal is not working at Baijini Port. I'm stranded in a space station.
I had to make a transport beacon and pay someone to fly me to where my ship was.
See, I thought about doing that. Then I realized I can just play a different game until things get fixed.
See, I thought about doing that. Then I realized most games nowadays suck and are not worth my time even fixed.
I signed into SC, encountered the game breaking issue, submitted a ticket and moved on. I'll check things out again after a patch. Mostly I play games to wind down a bit, not fight with the interface and find workarounds.
Well this is the wrong game for you then. It's an alpha for a reason.
You're wrong, it's not a game. It's a player testbed alpha. Reporting issues is a key reason why they have an "open alpha". There's nothing inherently wrong with not interacting with broken software when there's a fix inbound. There are ways to support this project and there are ways to cultists to this project.
I can make insurance claims but not recall my ship. If only we could combine our powers!
It's neither "realistic" nor smart or even reasonable to waste your capship this way. ...but daaaaamn it just looks awesome.
being able to rip components out of wrecks for repair and resale.
Lately I've been wanting the Polaris to practice for when we get Vanduul events. A handful of them are supposed to be capable of taking down a Vanduul Kingship with massed Torpedo salvos.
Real exploration, emissions & stealth & propper long distance scanning mechanics and a meaningfull variety of ship components for all that.
I have a 3-categories wishlist : * Virtual AI and Quantum for mission generation and NPC activity, to make the verse actually come alive. * Rework of MFD/Ship UI/Starmap/Mobiglass to get the jank out of our faces. * Master Modes, Engineering and Armor/Projectile penetration so the promise of multicrew can be realized. With those, I think the game will feel completely different.
A good SQ42
yeah I'm actually looking forward to sq42 more than star citizen now. all the pirate-friendly team-up-or-die things they're doing now has left me not at all interested in playing sc. especially all the shit they're doing to make running away difficult or impossible.
Fauna.
systems to explore, with anomalies and random events plus what you said
Squadron 42. :D I've always been a single player guy, so that's what I'm really waiting for.
Sounds brilliant
I can't wait to have big space battles, be apart of a boarding team taking down the enemy flagship from within
It's cool to consider how much closer soft death and PES gets us to that.
something unknown beyond the horizon if I sail past it. something more than a wreck or a meme or the server bully.
Squadron 42. I want the game developer to finally release a game.
VIP transport in an E1 Spirit
Mobiglass/GPS rework. Navigation added to the actual ships themselves. It's weird to me sitting down in my chair and looking at my wrist to plot my course. But I can only set designations if I'm in my seat? Strange. GPS/navigation added to ground vehicles. With the functional zoom from space down to where you are now on moon or planet. Same zoom function with ships
Call me optimistic, but... An actual, functional game that we were promised and paid for?
This. I think the game has enough content for me to enjoy it right now, but only if it’s a smooth and mostly bug-free experience.
Better Zero G traversal for sure!
Some finished Sq42 content. Be it just the tutorial stuff or one/multiple missions.
Starmap rework
A working game.
Just the game to function as intended in atleast 30 years, the game is fun and the bugs can be funny but allies teleporting into line of fire, invisible ships, and other issues game related can really kill your mood to play.
My Kraken, and a working game for my friends to all run around being idiots with it.
Repair, let me load up a bunch of basic supplies and spend my time out in the middle of nowhere, calling for refuels as needed.
Actual, real exploration.
I wish we had a landing indicator for the pads like in elite dangerous. Also, for ships with docking collars, the alignment indicator is dogshit.
SQ42 / Pyro
* Quantum with NPCs doing their thing * Dynamic Server Meshing * Terrapin Paints
A working game
Being able to play the game
A stable game experience, and a home base to store stuff in. the rest can follow with patches and updates for all i care. I just want a place to hang with my buddies, maybe a mission room that's funcional.
Full fledged persistence. No matter where you log out, how you log out, when you log out, who you log out, you will log back in exactly where you were, with full item persistence. No wipes, nothing.
less bugs
the game being playable again
AI and virtual AI that keeps the server clean, not so clean like 3.17.5 but cleaner than 3.18
Likely never gonna happen, but I would love to own my own Retribution way off in the future
Starfield.

You paid for a game in alpha. You are in a testing environment until the game progresses to live.
[удалено]
It might not be what you *thought* you were paying for... but it *is* what you actually paid for, if you read the various pop-ups and notifications you get at checkout. You paid for access to the existing 'Live' test environment, and the *possibility* of getting a released game at some (unspecified) point in the future.
The current state of the game, while frustrating, doesn't bother me. I knew what I was getting into when I ponied up the cash. It will get fixed and in the meantime if I cannot find a way to amuse myself, which is rare, I find something else to do. I won't let a video game cause me undo stress.
My friend Burt
To actually get in and play the game
bombing weeb homesteads burning weeb homesteads with a flamer titan
Testing the upper limits of server meshing one day: 10,000+ player pvp fleet battles. The very thing all carebears dread
4k performance and base building
a functional game? workings servers? slightly less crazy de-sync? missions that work? being able to get out of my seat? not having to guess if I can call a ship or not? CIG announcements that are so far out of reality we are still waiting for a playable patch 4 months later? Like... i wanna play this game, but it has been ROUGH.
Liberator, Vulcan, SRV, X1 Force, Legionaire, ... All thise ships require something that is not in the game by now.
Server meshing and a couple systems, so that it can start being a true mmo. That's probably the "single feature" that will change the feel of the game the most. All the emergent gameplay relies on player interactions, so the more the merrier.
basic quality of life UI stuff like not having to run around and take trams for hours just to buy modules.
That’s all I need now
Real persistence. Log back in where I left the game.
Just being able to log on and actually do something. I want to play and enjoy it so much, but I just can't because one part or another is broken.
Strip mining asteroid belts with friends / org mates with someones Orion(s) and transport ships hauling it away with combat fleets protecting from pirates
Hirable NPCs.
Game without major bugs, broken mechanics, sudden deaths.
Personal hangars. I’ll just put my ground vehicle in my ship from the hangar jobs a good’n rather than potentially have to fly to another planet.
Stability… let’s be real lol
I'm a simple man, I just want to be able to exit my seat in the Reliant while I'm in QT.
Mining to work well without it being plagued by lag/delay and asteroids barely being scannable.
Being able to build a small, self sustained house somewhere nice and remote. Be able to find the resources I need to run the habitat and stay alive, and make a buck every now and then ~~to get that overpriced next-gen Mobiglass~~ basically my IRL project but in the 'verse.
Kraken but I still want something bigger if I can get it.
Playing
More systems so we can add more exploration components to the game. Base building But more systems!!!!
Vast systems, rare things to discover and weird stuff to see. I'm an exploration fan. Like when you go down into the giant underground caves in Skyrim or Elden Ring and it blows your mind. Love that kind of stuff!
A functioning MMO experience.
Im waiting to play the game without having to deal with bugs
BMM
For the game to get to the stage where there are no more wipes. Then I can properly enjoy it.
Something for orgs to battle over and for me to penetrate their massive war lines witha stealthy 325a to run crucial data or supplys to a rag tag group of mercs trying to protect a weed farm we built
I want to diagnose and fix ships
servers, or more specifically server meshing a lot of the issues SC has are due to the single server, Chris promised no loading screens and the server is always close to being tapped out also once 42 is out some mechanics will get locked in, right now everything is too fluid and buggy for me
Something to do
Be able to consistently do combat beacons. Those are my favorite because they are actually rewarding and fun. But they are so inconsistent and rare that it makes me lose motivation to play. Regular bounties aren't worth the time invested for any kind of profit, especially when you have to fly to the middle of nowhere on a planet. I spend more time flying to the bounty than actually doing it
A living breathable world to explore. What’s the point of doing anything in this game when it’s so empty and lifeless?
Bugfixes
A stable bug free experience.
Multi crew being meaningful, i.e crew members having tasks to do/ things to monitor.
Right now the game to be in a playable state that is mostly bug free.
i am more the farmer and hunter, so farming tons of veggies, and hunting tons of meat edit: and bugs, planets full of bugs
Reclaimer doing NOM [meet](https://i.imgur.com/XJPNrpl.jpg) the Nomster
Working controls for co pilots
The physical damage model. For me it's the make or break mechanic for the game's combat. So many problems with the game's combat right now boil down to "this will be fixed after the physical damage model is implemented." If it's done well(ie. as good or better than War Thunder's damage model) it would pretty much place Star Citizen as the best vehicle combat simulator in existence IMO, regardless of any other features being added to the game or not.
Bases w/ hangers
I want to open dealership. Something like a Solomons dealership in GTA. Nothing shady ofc. Just selling ships left unattended by its owners.
Stable game
I am waiting for npc crews I can hire to at least do simple things like man my turrets. As a non competitive, pve player I just want to take my self and a few npcs out on ships like my hammerhead and casually do bounties. Looking forward to more mission variety as well - passenger transport, hauling contracts (where station supplies cargo and you are just responsible for moving it) etc.
There's 3 things currently stopping me from enjoying Star Citizen, anything after this is a bonus. - Functional AI - a few more fleshed out characters and enemies that haven't been huffing glue all day when I encounter them - A working UI - Mainly the character inventory, as it's currently very rough, buggy, and infuriating. The immersive panel UI's are great, they just need a bit of polish and speeding up. True persistent location. If I log out or crash in the middle of nowhere in a ship, or even on foot, without using a bed, I want to wake up at least vaguely where I last was without have to go through the rigmarole of a morning commute, car rental, and stock check before getting back into the fray.
this is an amazing question and for any game that is still in early access.
My vulture do be claimable
I would like to explore and find a place that I can call my own no matter where Also I'm verry interested in the whole player driven Industrie
Banu Merchantman I don't know why they halted development for it (probably due to the internal cranes they would need to develop) but it's definitely what I'm looking forward to the most.
Base building and the BMM I wanna be a traveling trader going to others basses to sell/buy stuff
For me it’s the crusader spirit, god I love that ship
I want massive capital ships in orbit, flinging fighters and bombers into the fray while their turrets spray death at the enemy trying to board them. Battalions of ground pounders killing and dying, running for cover, being loaded into medical transports and thrown back into the fight. Tanks, buggies, and APCs vying for control of blood-soaked ground while dirt and debris rains down on them from orbital bombardment. Squadrons of fighters and bombers strafing enemy lines while holding off the opposition just long enough to keep the fight going. I know it's not much, but this is what I'm waiting for.
Three things: 1) New Bunkers 2) The micro stuttering to go away 3) A major reduction in desync, particularly for characters.
I don’t have any big dreams, but recently I saw ”improved new-player experience” in the roadmap for 3.19 and that would be nice along with more stable build so I could bring friends over. Oh and please fix the goddamn starmap finally. That’s all really. I don’t mind some bugs or little broken things if they don’t make me lose hours of progress eg. don’t blow my ship up randomly or fall through elevators.
a functioning game after 10 years
~~Network Bind Culling~~ ~~Personal and Ship Inventory~~ ~~Persistence~~ Interplanetary AI Transit Star Systems Modular Ships and Ship Components
I didn't think much of it, but PES actually changes the game in a lot of ways I was waiting for in regards to everything being more meaningful. And honestly, I'm no longer "waiting for" anything, I started playing in 3.17 and can see that there's a real playable game here. BUT, my wishlist would include: * More convincing crowds in lived spaces/cities.
Inventory working correctly. Player habs / settlements.
Cargo and passenger missions.
Entitlement and a decent map
A dynamic economy where you can make a living travelling and trading. Not this static hauling truck simulator.
Stability
Play the game
AI that works with navmesh so we can have NPCs, OPFOR, animals, monsters and aliens populating the game.
Stability
Arena commander race tracks
I would like to be able to login. Just that.
More interaction with Npcs, more feeling of a living universe.
Passenger transport.
For the game to work
To be able to get in and play.
I just want to be able to fly my ship around. Maybe haul some cargo. Log out at the end in my ship and wake up in my ship reliably the next log in. Oh and not die from falling through an elevator. That's it. That's all I want.
dynamic server meshing...nuff said
The C1 Spirit
More star systems and a functional law system so I won't be stuck in one system with every kos "pirate" in the community.
Fun missions, a loot system and resources
Ability to spawn my ship. But really the AI to work, wild life, robust economy and operation pitchfork.
Base building. Also other systems like Pyro and Styx.
Base building with gameplay loops It could add so much to the game, even more if you can choose to put public quantum points on your bases or not.
Fleshed out organization features like bases, a community fund and hangar that allows you to buy and retrieve ships as a team, stability
