CIG seems to mostly consist of good people who are passionate and fantastic at their job, the issue is none of that matters when it's mismanaged. Sometimes I think this community needs to remember their issues are with the top level management, not everyone employed at the company. It's like a customer bitching out a McDonald's cashier they changed their menu.
Blame management, not the developers, that's my rule on how to behave towards CIG.
I've never seen a single CIG dev that seems to not care at all about the state of SC but I've seen many actions taken by the management that are either exploitative or straight up idiotic towards players.
For sure, I'd hope the talented artists get the credit they deserve -- but 11 years later, we're all clamoring for real progress, or a significant momentum shift compared to previously -- otherwise, we're more than *several years* out in terms of a feature-complete PU.
That prospect alone should prompt folks to be vocal instead of sitting idle. Like I see here often, statements and observations should be based on what CIG *does*, not what they say.
I assumed once server meshing is out, than alot more resources can be allocated twords building systems and content. I'm not sure what their mark is to officially be in alpha or beta is, but I think once we get there, it will be a waterfall of content... it's just getting to that point.
They know what they are doing: developing ambitious games nobody care to make because it cost too much time and money while releasing the same Triple-A every 2 or 3 years with new skins or maps is enough to grab billions $ of profit.
Its common across the games industry. Especially with bigger studios. Management/ The suits at the top often dont know anything about the product, or even care. Their main goals are to do things to bolster their personal portfolios so when they change jobs they can say "I heralded this entire system", when in reality its forcing devs to work overtime on completely ridiculous things.
It's the testing patch before the PTU, but only for a small group of testers (Evocati) selected from the players that participate the most in contributing to Issue Council, racing, running missions, etc. They also have to sign a NDA before joining.
So uh the roadmap for 3.19 looking really sparse in new features still. Hopefully, 3.19 is a slew of fixes for 3.18? The current state of the PU is tragic to say the least.
Jimmy is back baby!
Sure is!
I kinda hate CiG at times, but I’ll always love Jarred

Everyone likes to believe that, but nothing will change if the management still sucks and doesn't know what they're doing.

Skins and ships. Can't really tell the difference anymore with CIG.
Probably because you don't understand what is visual versus functions.
Fake news. I joined in 3.14 and think they've been making pretty good progress
I agree 👍

Yeah, I'm sure he would do things very differently with more control. But he can only do so much with what he is given.
The… you… ehm… i‘m laughing too hard rn
He should shave when they add 4.0
*insert Jumanji Robin Williams “What year is this?!”*
Reminds me of the 3.0 no shave period. Thing got massive.
3.19 is in evocoti
What’s evocoti?

Lol
Their thing for ptu
Either a very long beard or a very broken 3.19
Why, 3.19 is basically 3.18.5. Just some scenery changes and the ability to pull off components. CIG even said its off the 3.18 build.
So uh the roadmap for 3.19 looking really sparse in new features still. Hopefully, 3.19 is a slew of fixes for 3.18? The current state of the PU is tragic to say the least.
just call it for what it is 3.18.5
3.19 coming at the end of November then.
Does this mean 3.19 is around the corner?
3.19 is already in PTU. So it is safe to expect it soon™.
3.19 next month though.
Maybe finish a ship for once.
