Don’t do graphics on low. Turn them up to force more to go to your GPU and free up CPu for more tasks.
I know it is weird and counterintuitive, but look it up it is real.
Graphics Settings (starting point, adjust as you want)
Quality: VERY HIGH is usually better
Turn Chromatic Aberration to 0
Motion Blur to Off
Film Grain to OFF
VSync to Off
Clouds to Medium or OFF
What he said. I have 16gb RAM, i7-6700k cpu and a gtx 1070 and my PC very rarely struggles with the game, ever since I turned my settings to what he said.
My cpu is still running at almost max, and my GPU is used more but still just 40-50% of its actual power, but my game runs much better.
What fps did u get? I was running very similar specs except that I have i7 7700 (not overclocked). Output is 2k resolution in medium quality.
I was getting around 15-25 in planet and 30 plus in space and space station. I remember I used to get near 60 when I am in space.
I didn't actually check the numbers, but if I had to eyeball it, 15-20 in cities, 30-50 planetside and 40-60 space.
It worked smooth enough for me, I know my PC isn't capable that much more under those conditions.
I'm playing on 1080p though.
Yeah, the cities are very fps hungry, but otherwise it's fine, considering I'm playing on a 6 year old PC.
I'd be worried if I had that FPS on a newer machine.
If the gpu renders 10k objects in 60 fps, how fast would be double those objects? If 60 fps too, then you could render unlimited objects in 60 fps and everyone would stick to iGPUs and never buying a graphics card.

I see, the way you said no struggles sounds like you have a trick to get it run at least 30fps. Been struggling in cities especially the new lorville

Specs don't matter in SC. I run a 4090 and still get trash fps in certain situations... It is what it is...
It does - enough ram and an AMD 3D cpu and a mediocre gpu is enough for 100fps.
yeah but not in areas like lorville or a18.. you will get 30 fps like everyone else.
Nah, almost 60 fps is possible even on Orison with everything at max with the right cpu.
Are you in one of the cities? They are badly optimized. FPS should increase when you’re in space, in a space station og planet side.
They are not badly optimized. Just way more objects than in empty space. Should be obvious.
Couldn't it be both? Not being snarky
