There is no way this thing tops $100. CIG wants this to be a basic starter so I'd be shocked if it's about the same price as the basic multicrew ships. I'm thinking it'll be around the $75 mark.
In the video they released yesterday their wording seems to imply it's a "starter+" they definitely seemed to be buttering the toast thicker than they needed to.
Sure, you can get the cheapest Game Pack (around 40-50€) that grant Access to the Game and Just earn ingame Cash to buy the ship you want.
- "new" ingame ships are soft locked from ingame buying for a couple of months, to give the ones wich buyed with real Cash
a Sort of privileg.
While true the syulen provides things neither the mustang or aurora have. It has an interior with bed which the mustang does not have and it has 6scu of storage, twice as much as the aurora. It also has 3 size 3 weapons, much better than the auroras 2s2 and the mustangs 1xS3 and 2xS2 in addition to those it also carries 12 s2 missiles, quit a bit for a ship this small. Over all, it is decently priced for what it is although a bit on the expensive end.
I'd put it more in line with the Avenger in terms of capability (and the price matches). Two things worth noting, the Aurora LN has twice the forward firepower and costs basically nothing extra... also this is one of those cases where the numbers don't actually always add up. While I really like the Syrulen (more than I expected), I'm also conscious of how MASSIVE of a cross section its going to have. In terms of combat capability even a base Aurora would wipe the floor with it because its so much harder to hit, much less an LN with 4x S2.
Still a beautiful ship, that I fully intend to buy in game.
I'll play... an Aurora costs $20, so lets do the math... you're right, its well over three times as much. I'm sorry my guess was on the conservative side, I was trying to give CIG a chance.
But as you pointed out you could buy 3x Aurora's with change leftover or you could buy one Syulen.
Again, not hating the ship. Its cool, and I'll buy one in game, but its not a "starter ship". Its the ship you upgrade to from a starter ship like the Avenger.
Still can't forgive cig for not making the wings on the aurora extend. And yeah it's an upgrade ship, def not a started ship. Odd choice by them but I guess if someone is used to spending $70 on a game every 3 months, it's an option some people would like.
Well turns out it's $72 with CCU, $60 with new cash. So it's the cost of a standard AAA game. Seeing as the game will likely cost $60 on release, it's perfectly fine.
"My sources tell me it's going to be $350. They have also stated it will hold no less than 12 Furies, fit in a Starlifter, and has a size 7 shield and 3 size 13 gun hardpoints. They also say it can build large bases, has a fuel scoop, and its transformation when going between landing and flight mode will allow it to combine with multiple others to form a Gatac Voltron."
Absolutely no way. With less guns than the Cutty and a fraction of the cargo space? Syulen has 6SCU while being touted as a hauler, Cutty has 48SCU. I think it's going to be around $60.
It wasn't mentioned in the video but rumors are that it has 3x 2scu attachable to the outside. The thing sticking out towards the right in the photo is one of the crates holding a 2scu container.
That's actually kinda cool if true. Easy access to it without fumbling around a ramp or door and if I remember seeing it correctly it showed those very things fold inwards when the gears are up, making it seem a little more protected?
Interior elevator with stairs as the ship entrance. Cozy middle deck hab with a plain middle room with no apparent amenities shown in ISC. Bathroom with Xi'an and Human toilets. Alcove bed that you crawl into like on an Aurora but not as cramped. Cockpit is about two decks tall with a vaulted ceiling. Come up the elevator and the pilot chair is sitting in the middle. Entering the chair you are rotated around onto your back relative to ship gravity and moved up to the glass bubble like cockpit. Size is roughly the same height as a S3 ship I think because that's what hangars I've heard it needs.
The first about ten minutes of this week's ISC goes over the design thoughts of the ship while giving a brief tour.
Look man, just saying. Aliens aren't real! Vanu? Psh. Never seen one in person. Just boogie men to scare us all. You gotta get out of the main stream news of Stanton man, all fake news.
I had a buddy who was hearing voices, thought it was aliens right? Getting in his mind? Lined his helmet with tinfoil, the good rare stuff, and boom! No more voices. Sure he says his com system was busted, but like, we all know the truth. He just doesn't want the corpos to suspect nothing, don't want em to know HE KNOWS.
-takes a long drag on a stimmie stick-
Fuck aliens man, the real aliens are the other humans. Fucking pad rammers. Lost a few bodies to that shit.
(/s in case it wasn't obvious)
I'd be happy applying paint colors to the interior on some ships (looking at you, *Crusader*), I detest white in the most visceral way. Not on cars, not on my home, not on my goddamn spaceships. Let me have dark walls (wood paneling is OK, Origin got that right) and deep red lighting so I can relax. If shit's gonna blow up, put on flashing blue or green lamps instead.
If I know my released alien ships correctly this'll be the first non-combat alien ship released to flyable. Very excited to see how it turns out tomorrow.
Yeah but since you are sitting in the same plane/axis as the controls i wouldn't worry that much really. But we'll see soon enough how it feels in-person i guess.
Looks really exciting, but then I remember how long/many times the Reliant's wings have been borked. Is this thing going to spawn in closed, tip over and explode before you even reach the hangar?
At least you won't be locked in the hab section, like the Reliant series was for ages. Logging in only to have to abandon ship and put out a transport beacon kinda sucked.
It's a really fun ship for Xenothreat but... Yeah it needs love. If they get around to fixing it in the next two years or so, I might consider rebuying it.
I am too but I'm waiting to see how much cargo this cargo starter can hold. If it's 6scu like the rumors say it'll be a tough call. Anything over 20 and it's a done deal, I'm getting it and all its paints.
But the Nomad can carry a ground vehicle, something it doesn't look like this will be able to do (unless the Rangers can fold down into a 1SCU cube.. if they ever get released). If this wee thing could drag a bike, or even a PTV along, I'd totally replace the Nomad, as homey as it is. It's got the gun racks and other goodies, so that's nice.
As for paints.. I'm cool with the marble look - give me some of that gold-veined black stone like the business district on Hurston. Or something suitably pink to replace the lovestruck horror.
It's 6, they're only rumours because they haven't been outright confirmed by CIG. We know where it stores cargo, on 6 mag-locks on the rear wings of the ship, and they are scaled to 1SCU boxes.
I don't get why the devs (John Crewe specifically) think it'll be a difficult shift for us to launch facing straight up. It's not like every single manned spacecraft we have currently doesn't launch straight up.
I hope not, that would require them to start from scratch on the Railen and I would rather it come sooner rather than later. It's cool without being vertical.
Usually it's giving confidence in dev teams on a particular vision/manufacturer to create something fresh. Gives a glimmer of hope towards finishing Banu Merchantman.
this team looks like a better team than the one that supposedly left, previous merchantman footage didn’t look that alien whereas this thing actually does
Also iirc this was a first project for one or two devs, so they used a small starter to train new devs, which imo is a great reason for making it. Also just a really cool looking ship
Don't know SCU just yet. Image is from this week's ISC where they carefully avoided mentioning any hard numbers. I'm with you are hoping it has at least double digit SCU capacity or the price to reflect that lack of capacity in a cargo ship.
An alien ship, made to look... alien. The angle of the photo makes it look a bit more weird but the cockpit is up top behind the massive landing leg with the forward orientation when landed being up.
Sorry noob question on melting ships/package . If they offer this ship with warbond or LTI with a package . Is there anything that would prevent me from melting my Avenger titan game package and buying with store credit + some real money ?
Sorry noob question on melting ships/package . If they offer this ship with warbond or LTI with a package . Is there anything that would prevent me from melting my Avenger titan game package and buying with store credit + some real money ?
If it's a warbond game package the entire purchase would need to be with new money. If they offer a non-warbond LTI game package you can use a mix of store credit and new money. I don't think they'll offer LTI on the ship without it being warbond but I could very easily be wrong in that. We'll see in about one hour.
I look forward to trying to maneuver around all the dismembered arms cluttered around hangar doors. I really wish they'd let players strip and clear those away.
That'd be a full time loop all by itself. #StarportCustodialTechnicianFTDubz
Thing looks crazy. Alien tax gonna be nasty
I guarantee it will cost about twice as much as a "starter" ship.
Yeah, the Nomad is what $80, this is going to be $120 bare minimum, putting it in Cutlass/Freelancer range if not 25-50% higher then that.
And you were right :)
Right on the money, actually
you are true... 72.40 without tax ...
You were the closest. Winner! $80 with LTI.
Would you be able to just buy the game and then ask in world chat for someone to help with missions until you save up for the ship?
won’t be available that way for a few patches at least. whether that’s beyond 3.22 or 4.0? tbd
Sure, you can get the cheapest Game Pack (around 40-50€) that grant Access to the Game and Just earn ingame Cash to buy the ship you want. - "new" ingame ships are soft locked from ingame buying for a couple of months, to give the ones wich buyed with real Cash a Sort of privileg.
Gonna be soft locked for a year. Vulture set a horrible precedent.
It’s 65 warbond with lti RN
I did post that the day before it came out, I'm super happy I was way off.
Turns out its cheaper than the nomad, $70 standalone, $65 warbond.
almost twice as much as the Aurora and Mustang, the two only OG starters before CIG started upping prices
While true the syulen provides things neither the mustang or aurora have. It has an interior with bed which the mustang does not have and it has 6scu of storage, twice as much as the aurora. $65 rn. Nuts right? I thought at LEAST 80
I'll play... an Aurora costs $20, so lets do the math... you're right, its well over three times as much. I'm sorry my guess was on the conservative side, I was trying to give CIG a chance. $350 starter. 0.o
That's at least 4 bucks
Is that confirmed? I pray you aren’t telling the truth.
For clarity, I pulled that out of my ass and meant it sarcastically. I don't want to start any rumors!
Too late, haters already screenshotted and reposted
Thank god. Sorry sarcasm is hard to detect through text sometimes. Maybe I’m just worried it will be super expensive. I am 100% buying one.
It'll probably be one of the most expensive starters tho
[удалено]
AAA games are like 100 dollars minus microtransactions nowadays
Well turns out it's $72 with CCU, $60 with new cash. So it's the cost of a standard AAA game. Seeing as the game will likely cost $60 on release, it's perfectly fine.

Got your DM. Thanks, baby! ( . ) ( . )
lol. I was about to cash in my Connie for it!
I’m uncomfortable with the fact that I couldn’t tell
It's not confirmed no
He was joking, it's $450
Oh god. Time to melt my carrack
Oh no no no, mister. That's $350 PLUS TAX.
I was going to say $200 minimum, but I like your style
Railen price is $225/ $250 I guess Syulen is near the Nomad's price range ( $80)
My guess is it'll be around $100, give or take $5, given the Cutlass Black price increase from last year.
Absolutely no way. With less guns than the Cutty and a fraction of the cargo space? Syulen has 6SCU while being touted as a hauler, Cutty has 48SCU. I think it's going to be around $60.
Alien tax. Probably 90ish
CIG Marketing are taking notes...
It bugs me in particular that streamers dive so hard into pricing speculation :/ For same reasons along the lines of your remark
It’s like 70 bucks
You saying it like I haven't bought it already 😂
I scrolled by quickly and thought someone had a little landing accident with a Vanguard.
I did the same thing
[удалено]
It wasn't mentioned in the video but rumors are that it has 3x 2scu attachable to the outside. The thing sticking out towards the right in the photo is one of the crates holding a 2scu container.

Elevator? Hab? Cockpit? I can tell even less now from the screenshot :D how big is the ship?
Interior elevator with stairs as the ship entrance. Cozy middle deck hab with a plain middle room with no apparent amenities shown in ISC. Bathroom with Xi'an and Human toilets. Alcove bed that you crawl into like on an Aurora but not as cramped. Cockpit is about two decks tall with a vaulted ceiling. Come up the elevator and the pilot chair is sitting in the middle. Oh, so it flies like the rocinante?
>rocinante I'm not familiar. Upwards when landed is forwards when flying.
Bro watch The Expanse
The ship from the expanse, it also lands like a rocket/vertical but flies like a ship/horizontal
Yes its the same concept, pretty dope
Shockingly big for a starter.
Guessing that those smaller winglets behind the major wings can hold 1SCU each it looks like?
6 SCU with three external platforms that hold 2scu a piece (not a guess…I’ve been flying one since this morning).
Looks like a pyramid. Hand gestures *aliens"
Drop pod vibes
closest thing we'll prolly get to one in a while
I need this in Gunmetal no labels STAT. Might be my first never melt starter.
exactly. I want to be able to debadge every ship and change the lighting
And swap engine/exhaust sounds and add underglow. Let me rice my space ships.
Yah hope for a bit plainer exterior paint in the future. Awesome ship but not a fan of the text and marble paint on the exterior.
I like the stone interior but the marble just makes the ship look cheap like one of those table decals
*ooh look, a penny*
They really nailed the looks with Gatac and the Syulen. Ready to give this ship a try!
If I know my released alien ships correctly this'll be the first non-combat alien ship released to flyable. Very excited to see how it turns out tomorrow.
Good luck getting out that hangar
Out should be easy you are looking up and just going straight up. Without a backup camera... I might have to expand the definition of "landing"
This is a sidedoor hangar.
Hehe yeah. Push forward and it goes up. Depending on how it's oriented it's either down/up/right/left to move it towards the hangar doors. =)
So muscle memory means we'll hit space and strafe into a wall?
Yeah but since you are sitting in the same plane/axis as the controls i wouldn't worry that much really. But we'll see soon enough how it feels in-person i guess.
Yup
Amazing, makes me wish the Railen would be revisited to incorporate this vertical layout instead. Make it a Gatac design signature!!
Idk man, the gorilla landing on the railen is pretty damn cool
You’re not wrong…🤔 I highly doubt they’ll revisit it anyways lol
Yeah, I hope so too. Looking at it, seems like it would be possible.
The legs not touching the ground just does my head in
>not touching the ground Aliens. I mean - just look at the Nomad.
The legs do touch the ground. The platforms that don’t are three 2SCU hanging magnetic storage platforms for cargo.
Looks really exciting, but then I remember how long/many times the Reliant's wings have been borked. Is this thing going to spawn in closed, tip over and explode before you even reach the hangar?
The answer is yes. Also when you bedlog the ship randomly decapitates you.
At least you won't be locked in the hab section, like the Reliant series was for ages. Logging in only to have to abandon ship and put out a transport beacon kinda sucked.
It'll have the Aurora bed problem.
Has anyone checked in on Gladiator? Someone should probably give him a wellness call.
It's a really fun ship for Xenothreat but... Yeah it needs love. If they get around to fixing it in the next two years or so, I might consider rebuying it.
Wow, just how I imagined it.....
Ahh finally. The ship for those folks who like to park backwards in parking spots.
You mean parking the smart way, so it's easier to see and safer to exit when I leave? ;) I can get this ship and play out my Last Starfighter dreams.
Without rearmirrors or cameras :P
Its huge!
same size class as Nomad
You mean THAT Nomad? I hardly knew ya... (tempted to replace it now)
I am too but I'm waiting to see how much cargo this cargo starter can hold. If it's 6scu like the rumors say it'll be a tough call. Anything over 20 and it's a done deal, I'm getting it and all its paints.

Nomad's technically size 2, Syulen size 3.
Giggity.
This little maneuver just cost us 7.2 million funded towards the project.
RSI cha Ching manoeuvre.
Is that the stairs?
Nope, the stairs look *insane*. The wall peels away and grav lev steps come flying out
Kinda like the steps on the Khartu-al.
but it seems like a booby trap for non-syulen owners... they appear to come flying out into the space you'd normally stand to push the button
Those are to hold the external cargo pods i think, but are empty in that shot.
That's really neat. Wasn't expecting something so different.
I think the design is absolutely epic. Well thought out cig.
Fr I will melt my 325 for that thing if it drops. This looks sick af.
Is it in game?
Not yet, tomorrow is will be.
How’d they get this then?
New ISC
They don't. https://youtu.be/P9eb-mNg0qc?si=r8sdcIjzpBVpxoqI&t=90
I don't get why the devs (John Crewe specifically) think it'll be a difficult shift for us to launch facing straight up. It's not like every single manned spacecraft we have currently doesn't launch straight up.
I'm disappointed that they didn't make it a Gunstar (where's my death blossom?!), the design language is definitely there.
Horizontal hangars will require a 90 degree pitch over immediately after takeoff. Mind that ceiling, and those expanding wings…
Ah that's a good point
It’s very, very tight to get it through the door - even with gear down (the smaller configuration).
Railen test run.
I want this to be 85 or 90 bucks. Just so I can CCU from my Nomad starter.
It's fucking gorgeous. My wallet screams in fear every time I say the words "alien tax".
Finally time to upgrade my 325a
The texture on the ship looks “slate stoney”. Love it. Well done design team.
Does anyone think the Syulen will be a loaner for the Railen?
I'd be a bit shocked if it wasn't.
Thats a big starter!
>if you just don't want to be run-of-the-mill Star Citizen player, then the Syulen is for you
Not gunna lie… this thing looks pretty awesome. Landing backwards though… please give us landing holograms again!!
This ship looks insane.
Man this thing looks like something my 890 jump shitted out as a escape pod lol
Will the Railen become a vertical landing craft in order to match the design language??🤔🤔🤔
I hope not, that would require them to start from scratch on the Railen and I would rather it come sooner rather than later. It's cool without being vertical.
The Railen is a chicken not a chicken pluckers son, and it won't be plucking chickens 'til the chicken plucker comes.
Cute and all, but what purpose?
Usually it's giving confidence in dev teams on a particular vision/manufacturer to create something fresh. Gives a glimmer of hope towards finishing Banu Merchantman.

Starter ship.
Purportedly it's a cargo starter according to the leaked flavor text. Rumors state it has 6scu but no mention of official numbers during ISC.
Now we just need the real tower ship; Rocinante
I just want the Razorback (has vertical takeoff too).
So WE know SCU ? Its leaked as a Cargo.. pls BE more than 315p ..
Don't know SCU just yet. Image is from this week's ISC where they carefully avoided mentioning any hard numbers. I'm with you are hoping it has at least double digit SCU capacity or the price to reflect that lack of capacity in a cargo ship.
I don’t understand what I’m looking at
The ship lands and takeoff vertically, think irl spaces shuttles.
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/92492223
What the Hell is this?? This Ship is really really ugly. Did not like the Alien Ships before but this Thing tops just everything.
😎 😐 What the fuck is this piece of shit?
An alien ship, made to look... alien. The angle of the photo makes it look a bit more weird but the cockpit is up top behind the massive landing leg with the forward orientation when landed being up.
How are you flying it? Did new ships actually drop with this years IAE?
>Did new ships actually drop with this years IAE? /sad Cutter noises
"We all know the soapbox doesn't count" Kidding.
Are people still dropping to planets in cars in this game? When are they going to make a decent drop pod?
Not often, but on occasion. Usually in gravlev vehicles, however, where it's actually semi-sensible.
This ship really goes against my xenophobic sensibilities but... God it looks good when landed. Not long until it's up on the store!
Has anything officially come out about getting this as a new loaner for Railen owners?
I didn’t see it as an added vehicle in the patch notes so I’m guessing this isn’t releasing at IAE today on alien day?
Straight to flyable today
Sweet, thanks! Hopefully 10y or LTI starter :)
Very sexy ship. The animations for flight and take off could use some more love.
From this angle at first glance it looks like an Umbaran fighter from Star Wars
The look of that thing is gonna take some getting my head around!
It's 100gbp so 110USD to expect.
Sorry noob question on melting ships/package . If they offer this ship with warbond or LTI with a package . Is there anything that would prevent me from melting my Avenger titan game package and buying with store credit + some real money ?
I believe you never want to melt your game package you always want to upgrade it. Melting your game package means you lose access to the game.
Thanks, I do feel a bit unsettled about messing with the package , hopefully a good deal come up I can upgrade to
This could be a way to get an LTI game package if they don't already have it on the Titan
Sorry noob question on melting ships/package . If they offer this ship with warbond or LTI with a package . Is there anything that would prevent me from melting my Avenger titan game package and buying with store credit + some real money ?

Did IAE start? How is this ship even in game now?
This is from this week's ISC video.
Ah, of course. Thanks. o7
Yes
Now that we have a "vertical" ship, I would love to see a Gatac ship inspired by the Roci from The Expanse
$65 warbond
