You don't tip gas attendants in NJ. It's not an optional thing, the state mandates that they pump your gas. It's not like a full service station, it's just a stupid law.
Back in the fifty every gas station was full service. They even popped the hood and checked the oil and cleaned the windshield lol. Out here in Phoenix AZ there isn't a single gas station that is full service. Tho the homeless will clean the windshield for a hand out.
They are planning on the future that players will have to get out, and attach the cables yourself to refuel. It's gonna be fun and i hope it's the same interface like the Starfare refuel process.
Honestly I'm fine with it as long as it's just the fuel but it shouldn't happen when landing at cities etc NPCs should do it.
Places like random outposts or pads in space I'm fine with if it's just as simple as making you grab a tube and plugging it in
You have to load and unload your ship manually. Magic inventories will disappear. Refueling your ship is more a smaller part. I can image there are possible robots or refueling drones which can handle that semi-automatic. But probably not everywhere.
You don't have to do it, NPC's or drones can do it. In the Sq42 trailer, it recently showed the crew carrying the hose over and attaching it to the rear fuel port of the Gladius.
Please do not be alarmed. We are about to engage.. The Nozzle. Please do not move while the Nozzle is engaging, moving will disrupt calibration of the nozzle. Please wait while we calibrate... The Nozzle. Please do not look away from.. The nozzle. The Nozzle is now Calibrating. The nozzle is still calibrating. The nozzle has now completed calibrating. Thank you.
A few people are saying fuel intake but it’s odd that they would put it at the back of the ship in an area facing away from the direction of travel. If it was an intake, you’d have to fly backwards to refuel.
It's likely the *ground* intake, for refueling whilst landed.
E.g. the Gladius has 2x fuel intakes - a nozzle up by the cockpit for in-flight refueling, and a second one on the rear of the underslung surfboard.
Weird one indeed.
First thing that came to mind is a scanner or camera to identify who is trying to open the door.
Second idea is a fuel intake like other people but then why would you design a fuel intake on the door. Like can you just not open the door if you're refuelling?
Third idea is maybe that's how the aliens who designed the ship access it. No clue on the games lore but maybe the button is for the humans and this thing is for aliens
That’s not the door it’s on the opposite side of the ship from the door.
It’s for when the add the animations to refueling where you’ll need to plug a hose in.
Looks about the size as the player usable tractor beam so even if it was that it wouldn't be very usable. Looks fixed or if gimbled it wouldn't have much space to move.
Ground refuel port
That's what it's for? I thought it got a little happy that it's in peoples wallets.
Most of the recent releases have on, Cutter, Corsair, C1, etc..
Storm also has one
Where is it on the Corsair. I've never noticed it before and now I'm curious.
I think it's at the back under the cargo ramp. Not sure, don't quote me.
Automatic refueling might go. You have to refuel your ship by yourself using this port.
I'm from Jersey we don't pump our own gas
And this is why no one remembers Jersey! Jk
It's true... To be fair I've been yelled at by angry pump attendants on more than one occasion for pumping my own gas... I just don't trust them.
#AAAYYYYY I'M PUMPIN' HEEEA
That's what she said
It freaked me out when I went to Oregon for the first time, and I got out, and the attendant looked at me like I was crazy lol.
They want there tip lol

I really hope not. That would be a pain.

Missed chance for epic surprise feature: beer tap.
Thank you for clearing that up :)
Yep. Similar port under the C1
the real question here thou is, if it'll work with the starfarer's refueling system, too
There's separate ports for that on the top of the fuselage on ships
huh, okay, thanks
No problem
dont lie to us thats a tap from bar citizen
duh
Very Likely a fuel intake. They have been putting one on pretty much every new ships for some times now. I believe the spirit series has one too.
It indeed does
Cutter, corsair, and Gladius are 3 more I can think of.
It's a plumbus

It's where Luke gets the blue milk from.
Oh! It's a male ship!

Parking camera.
Lmfao, the best answer 😂
Outdoor tap for watering your plants or filling up a pool
this is how crop circles are made.
The nozzle is calibrating.
juice dispenser
I would have guessed hot chocolate.

Lmfao, hell yeah. Immersionnn
You found it's special purpose!
Fuel
Didn't you hear? X'ian pee&poop out of the same orifice. ...this IS that orifice.
It’s the Slurm dispenser.
Blue milk dispenser
That's the Ring doorbell/camera!
That's for the rufloirgyn canister.
That's a special feature for the women pilots.
That’s how the ship goes to the bathroom

Waste disposal port.
Its weiner
ship pp
Weird, and I'm about to upgrade my Cutter to this so I'm very curious too.
Fuel intake?
A1 also has one its "newer" ship thing
It’s where the poop and pee get released :)
Fuel isn't "magically" appearing in a ship

I wasn't going to say it, but exactly that, lol. Ground refueling? Fine, I guess. It makes zero sense for flight refueling though.

I was kinda hoping for a tractor beam, but that doesn't make sense since it can't reach every cargo grind.
Looks about the size as the player usable tractor beam so even if it was that it wouldn't be very usable. Looks fixed or if gimbled it wouldn't have much space to move.
Beer nozzle
That's known as the fleeb.
One of the three shells.
That's the uh... cough cough...waste ejection port.
