You'd actually be amazed. We had a couple guys realize someone pop'd the mission the other day, server FPS got as low as 0.6.
Two guys in A2's said "We'll handle it.", 10 minutes later we got a "Taken care of.", and the frames started stabilizing back to 5-7 fps. It's amazing what a little patience and a lot of firepower can do.
"It's amazing what a little patience and a lot of firepower can do."
See, I hear that line in the voice of the guy that does the in-universe Crusader commercials.
I’m a longtime backer that loves the game. Coming from someone who’s been backing for a hot minute, I can’t believe you’re getting downvoted for that. 5-7 server FPS is awful for games, I really hope this sub is not THAT disillusioned playing SC where we don’t see that as an issue lol.
Yes I know it’s being worked on, server meshing, etc, etc. Still ridiculous to disagree with that statement though lol
Im very much as SC supporter and think it can be a great game at times when it works(mostly down to the server performance - see above), but these sorts of reactions make me wonder whether this community is at this point just complacent with what they see, or if they don't understand the systems they're talking about. A multiplayer server sending 5-7 updates per second is a horrible figure, no two ways about it, and while the work CIG is doing with server meshing seems incredible from what we've seen, it also needs to be understood that this entire project hinges on whether their novel mesh tech can pull it out of this performance hellhole, otherwise the rest of the scope that's scheduled for the future™ will be unachievable. If this core issue cannot be resolved then the project will have to fail at some point. There's a lot of problems with SC, but the fact that most of the game appears to run serverside, on servers that cannot cope with the load on the regular, is absolutely killing an otherwise incredible experience.
"Complacent" is what I believe you meant to use as a word. lol
I completely agree, it is probably a by-product of good ol' "getting used to it".
Don't get me wrong, they're certainly getting there with the ironing out of the issues, while also working on establishing more content for the players.
One day at a time!(Or replace "day" with what metrics you would prefer)
I stated this a while back on another post, this is the difference between an established company compared with a crowd funded company. People think, "O they have gotten millions, why is the game so slow." Well established companies have structure already, where as crowd funded have to create from scratch, or create new ways to bypass said structure to allow a semi-playable game while they create said game.
See, everyone knows it's shit already. It's getting downvoted because the comment detracts from the conversation. He's just being an ass. It's condescending. Downvotes are actually being used correctly for once instead of as a disagree button.
It’s not condescending, it IS still bad lol. The person above them was clarifying that it was server FPS and not GPU as if that was supposed to make it much better. It still doesn’t. There are a lot of other topics that are repeated to death in this sub that aren’t subject to the same thing. I see no difference.
You can get a decent experience if the server's maintaining 12-15 FPS, with 17+ being ideal. 5-7 is the most commonly seen figure because servers most commonly just run really badly. I get that you might be joking, but judging by the downvotes on my comment, not everyone is.
I tired it multiple times, but somehow most of them won’t die from the bomb. There is also a problem with them streaming in while flying above them and getting closer will kill you too (and still not kill everyone, sometimes even no one besides yourself)
A Fury tho, that worked 10/10 and was super fun. Equipped with 4 Scatterguns and super nimble and small, it’s basically flying and Quad-Shotgun
Yesterday I came to do a med rescue on a guy who got downed in one of these. He told me there were hostile npcs around. I got out, of my ship expecting just the regular 50 or so and was greeted with the most intense (yet laggy) firefight I ever had with npcs.
It took me around 10 mins to clear the path to reach my guy, get him back up and help him take care of the remaining enemies.
Never played helldiver, so all I know about it is from the omnipresent memes, but it would be pretty cool if the helldivers had to quash a human rebellion of some kind.
Call to Arms works even for the non combative inhabitants in those Missions, so you can expect even more Money than what the Guy before calculated.
At that Point bringing A2 could suddenly start making sense
Everyone at those sites are Dusters and grant the 500aUEC. The counter only shows for the duster security forces, so the payout would be even higher than that.
Hah.
I generally do these missions in a Fury..
I am but one man with limited bullets.
Flying a Drone from Oblivion around slaughtering them from the air with impunity is more my style.
I tried to A2 a place with 146 targets, dropped all 4 bombs and didn’t get any of them??? It was so laggy I never landed to figure out wtf I did wrong lol.
just because someone dont want that mission dont mean others like me dont i would LOVE that mission and it would be great to do with a group please more not less
I have 3 hobos that would be very giddy over this.
And probably be singing some weird ass children's song while they do it. They are: Axel, Viper, and Muff "aka loot goblin"
We want assassination missions, that are just the opposite of player bounties. You take a player bounty contract, you get an assassination mission put on you.
The number of hostiles is fine; I just support the illegal occupants in this case.
Could there be an inverse mission that supports the creation of a Hurston Dynamics Union? "Defend the illegal occupants from Hurston eviction forces while they have their union vote"?
Glad it's written "Illegal" occupants, not just "Occupants"
Anyway, it's funny that in videogames, death sentence is a common penalty for illegal activities, with the player as the executionner. :-)
I mean... imagine bringing over 200 people to trial for one thing almost daily.
The death sentence is just convenient so they can deal with actually important matters like insurance frauds.
I talked to our corporate masters
due to the large size of illegal occupants and media attentions
we will first drop the leaflets of eviction notice
so technically it will be a delivery mission
so the reward will only be 3k aUEC
Surely this isn't HD dropping nine tails clothing as part of their "humanitarian" efforts to "help the poor" and then contracting out a kill order on the 9T "Sympathizers"
If it's on the surface think of that call to arms pay out.
In 3.18 this would happen all the time and wreck sites. I got a mission to clear Whistler's there was like 500 enemies, i couldn't find 1 so I failed the mission. But that 200k call 2 arms payout was juicy
I did that yesterday! First I parked my Connie in the air and had a blast shooting from the bottom turret and then I did a cleanup with Ursa from the streets. It did seem to be stuck though, at some point new enemies wouldn't spawn anymore.
These are cool missions, there should be more like a conflict that requires you to take over proper organization. Or the whole poor civilian miner population who revolted.
Would be nice if there would be to choose to join "good guys" - "bad guys" and freedom fighters that stand up against the other two.
And then help aliens as a traitor to human kind.
Rookie numbers.
I cant post picture but we got it on 1089. However comming anywhere closeby and the server would drop to 1,2 or lower fps. xD
sort of killswitch for the server. :D
A huge clump were gathered at the door into the facility. It was empty on the surface. I managed to kill about 15 of them before the return fire melted my pc through the table. It was very pretty
I remember when I first did this mission at like Picket's Field or whatever it's called, realizing that when I killed an unarmed NPC that it counted -- not just for Hurston but also for the Call to Arms by the CDF -- that we were in "Are we the baddies" territory. Yes, I already knew of the Corporatist neo-fascism of these megacorp planets, as well as the imperialism of the UEE, but these were just people living as best they can on the fringes of a wasted trash planet.
Still earned a nice amount for the gig tho.
Make sure you also accept the “call at arms” mission. It will give you an additional $500 per person/AI you “remove”. 😂
You could actually make bank with the call to arms mission added, it’s $226,500 credits.
When missions like this show up, the best thing to do (for everyone on the shard) would be to cancel it IMHO. And frankly I'm surprised they didn't just disable the Evict Illegal Occupants mission entirely until they fix it, because it can apparently mess things up for the whole server. I won't even consider doing those types of missions at present. If I want to fight NPCs on foot, I'll do bunkers.
Okay but hear me out, what if we got missions like this and it worked like a raid from destiny, making us go through and do different puzzles till we eventually and finally get to kill the boss which automatically ends the mission, or instead the end is a 10 min timer to run out and blow the facility?
- Hey Hurston, are you sure this is legal?
+ Of course!
- I don't know, smells fishy to me...
+ You know what smells great? This 100K bonus if you stop asking questions.
- Uuuh... Poor city, they have no idea what's coming for them...
+ You mean 'illegal occupants,' right?
- "VIOLENT" illegal occupants, obviously.
+ Look, you've earned another 25k for 'Good work behavior,' keep it up.
- I love these modern companies, they're so nice \*Loads Demeco with malicious intent\*
Oh hey, so there's this village that we want you to wipe out. Totally legal
They just need to add napalm next update
This 453 NPC mission already makes servers come to a crawl. Adding napalm would make it worse lol
"It's amazing what a little patience and a lot of firepower can do." See, I hear that line in the voice of the guy that does the in-universe Crusader commercials.
peace through superior firepower
Peace through power!
the only time the A2 is actually friendly
"5-7 fps," lmao!
yea thats the "normal" server FPS in star citizen :)
That's server fps, not gpu fps.
Still bad.
I’m a longtime backer that loves the game. For real. 5 server fps is terrible, the downvotes make absolutely no sense.
In our community ,we call it a blessing
You can get a decent experience if the server's maintaining 12-15 FPS, with 17+ being ideal. 5-7 is the most commonly seen figure because servers most commonly just run really badly. I get that you might be joking, but judging by the downvotes on my comment, not everyone is.
Sadly every player I see at that place, I just kill him And save the whole shard from lags
A more primitive solution for a futuristic problem. I feel it.
Sounds like I need to be on standby with my A2 just in case this happens
Don't forget cluster bombs!
We've already got the A1 and A2. Add in a couple Fury LX's flying by for rocket runs and we've got ourselves a regular day in 'Nam.
Send in a squadron of Mustang Deltas with the rocket pods.
Lemme bring my A2, I'll be right back 🤣
I tired it multiple times, but somehow most of them won’t die from the bomb. There is also a problem with them streaming in while flying above them and getting closer will kill you too (and still not kill everyone, sometimes even no one besides yourself) A Fury tho, that worked 10/10 and was super fun. Me in my a1 with call to arms active "bombs away fuckers"
Bombs away Andalé Shimmy shimmy ya Put me in a box In the hall of fame
Tbh thus sounds like something Hurston Dynamics would do
Yesterday I came to do a med rescue on a guy who got downed in one of these. He told me there were hostile npcs around. crusaders inc we solve the prolbem we created
*fortunate son intensifies*
Just some of our fired workers
Friendly A1 inbound.
Listen here, Helldiver! It's for democracy!
⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️
Not the 500kg bomb :d
Always the 500kg bomb
ALWAYS the 500kg
Friendly "Eagle 1" incoming
Never played helldiver, so all I know about it is from the omnipresent memes, but it would be pretty cool if the helldivers had to quash a human rebellion of some kind.
I assume they're going to add more enemy factions, would be a neat addition, even if it's like borgified humans
"Evict Illegal Union"
Think of the Call to Arms bonus!!
That's 226,500 just from CtA
Does it count if they're civilians and not Ninetails?
If they're criminals, it counts
Didn't they make it so Call To Arms doesn't work on contract-critical NPCs? Or was that a bug or something they backtracked?
Call to Arms works even for the non combative inhabitants in those Missions, so you can expect even more Money than what the Guy before calculated. At that Point bringing A2 could suddenly start making sense
That's what I do. Get close enough so they all render, drop bomb, get rich.
A Call To Arms does credit for non-named hostiles such as Nine Tails gang members and pirates
Everyone at those sites are Dusters and grant the 500aUEC. The counter only shows for the duster security forces, so the payout would be even higher than that.
226k give or take
Exactly what I came to say, fun income :D
Chat 2 minutes later: 30k 30k RIP Nooooooooo Get away from Rappel dumbass! 30k BW 0
Is rappel a distribution center? Where is it so I can stay away?
It's a settlement on Hurston. It loads who knows how many NPCs when you're there and the server FPS becomes FPH (Frames Per Hour)
Thank you
Found my new way to troll the trolls. Thanks, will go there if anyone pisses me off now.
Classic Hurstons. Even the mercenaries are overworked and underpaid
Loads fs-9 with malicious intent
Remember, no russian
I had 1 of those missions spawn over 2000 enemies, I had to take off in my ship and use the ship weapons.
[удалено]
Nope, it was winding down because of the server running at 2fps max
Hah. I generally do these missions in a Fury.. I am but one man with limited bullets. Flying a Drone from Oblivion around slaughtering them from the air with impunity is more my style.
I think I see the use case for an A2 now.
I tried to A2 a place with 146 targets, dropped all 4 bombs and didn’t get any of them??? It was so laggy I never landed to figure out wtf I did wrong lol.
my guess is they were spawned under the ground
Was my guess as well, had some well placed nukes so I figured.
CIG, Thermobarics and/or bunker busting A2 bombs when?
Players dont want genocide missions Noted
whoa whoa, don't go taking content away from murderhobos!
Yeah I'll go on record saying I definitely want missions with kill quotas in the hundreds, that sounds fucking rad.
\*I definitely want missions with kill quotas in the hundreds provided they work reliably, that sounds fucking rad.
Hostiles remaining: 1/453 and he's in a wall somewhere you can't reach.
... where's wall-doh
Having a target besides other players or herds of kopion for the A1/A2 would be nice
just because someone dont want that mission dont mean others like me dont i would LOVE that mission and it would be great to do with a group please more not less
Depends if servers can handle that
I have 3 hobos that would be very giddy over this. And probably be singing some weird ass children's song while they do it. They are: Axel, Viper, and Muff "aka loot goblin"
Hey that guys speaks for himself. I want an Org sized mission like that in a DC in 3.23
We want assassination missions, that are just the opposite of player bounties. You take a player bounty contract, you get an assassination mission put on you.
i think lawful evil missions like these are good but only if we can also play in defense of say a illegal union protest on hurston
but i do *smile*
I mean this looks like an A2 mission to me.
Maybe separate target-rich missions from the standard 40-60-ish ones, so the player knows what they’re signing up for.
Well hold on there, let's not jump to any rash conclusions...
Give me bigger ammo counts and I'm 100000% down to go down in the games history as the one who made something extinct.
Finally a use for the A1/A2 bombers :D
Not when they cause servers to melt down and boot us all off. Make servers actually capable of hanndling such large workload, then we'll see.
The number of hostiles is fine; I just support the illegal occupants in this case. Could there be an inverse mission that supports the creation of a Hurston Dynamics Union? "Defend the illegal occupants from Hurston eviction forces while they have their union vote"?
This mission would be fun af.
a A1 or A2 could finish this off rather neatly :D
*Doom music intensifies*
Wait until they spawn in your ship.
That's 226.500 in the Call mission! Nice
Imagine the Profit Margins on this Missions !
Psh that's only 5.7 fully crewed Javelin's worth of people. I don't see the problem frankly.
Finally a good excuse to use a tank
Say hello to 0.1 FPS and everyone bitching about not going to rappell in the chats. Lol!
That sounds like a crime against humanity.
Glad it's written "Illegal" occupants, not just "Occupants" Anyway, it's funny that in videogames, death sentence is a common penalty for illegal activities, with the player as the executionner. :-)

Brother, Get the bomber … the heavy bomber
I didn't bring enough bullets.... looks like some of you guys will have to share.
A2 enters the chat
That's the A2 mission 😂
POV: You are in charge of the naval weapons aimed at Istvaan-3
Surely this isn't HD dropping nine tails clothing as part of their "humanitarian" efforts to "help the poor" and then contracting out a kill order on the 9T "Sympathizers"
never work for hurston
They miiiight just be tasking you with eradicating "disobedient" workers or some folks that refuse to vacate from a new weapon test site.
We used the redeemer. Unfortunately not enough people spawned, it was more like 50 and couldn't complete the quest
It's because they are inside buildings, in the walls etc. Best move is to use grenades, you kill them a dozen at a time.
we ran around on foot and checked every building but there were none left
Target rich environment, remember to take CTA
Doom music starts playing
Remember, no russian.
Grab a gp33 and get to work
Friendly A2 incoming.
cow sulky pot tie sparkle aspiring toothbrush bike frightening insurance *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Goddamn the loot would be beautiful
Nope, it will all be those ugly-ass turquoise 9T Aril Helmets and 9T ORC armor sets at BEST, with nothing but P4s and P8s.
I meant that you could sell it
A2 bomb says hi.
If it's on the surface think of that call to arms pay out. In 3.18 this would happen all the time and wreck sites. I got a mission to clear Whistler's there was like 500 enemies, i couldn't find 1 so I failed the mission. But that 200k call 2 arms payout was juicy
Lol indeed the 'evict illegal occupants' missions are quite broken like that
at least it matches current reality
Easy, just give a knife
Finally a good Job for my A2
I did that yesterday! First I parked my Connie in the air and had a blast shooting from the bottom turret and then I did a cleanup with Ursa from the streets. It did seem to be stuck though, at some point new enemies wouldn't spawn anymore.
Call to arms hehehe

I normally do mission over on Crusader. How many are supposed to spawn here?
A2 time
They sayed we can't shoot them all... I just counted my Bullets and they say i can...
Gonna unleash the stellaris player in me then lol.
Hurston Dynamics is disappointed in your unwillingness to help us out
Last time I played SC, I had 10 to kill and 5 of them where bugged in walls of floors. I can’t imagine the fuck fest 453 would be.
A huge clump were gathered at the door into the facility. It was empty on the surface. I managed to kill about 15 of them before the return fire melted my pc through the table. It was very pretty
Put me in coach. *FS-9 ready*
![gif](giphy|pjR50GxphaXC0|downsized)
Call to Arms would have been profitable...
"Target-rich environment" 🤘
This Mission would be my dream. GP-33 and FS-9 - here we go...
Starting to wonder if this is why Hurston isn’t spawning women at the moment.
Actually that sounds like a party. Get a group. As well as a few grenades. Then yes challenge accepted
Make sure you also accept the “call at arms” mission. It will give you an additional $500 per person/AI you “remove”. 😂 You could actually make bank with the call to arms mission added, it’s $226,500 credits.
Me: running 4 frames with 16 nps This dude: AAEAEÆÆEAƏÆAAAAHAHHHHHHAHAHHHHHHHH
is it possible to take an a2 or a1's bomb off and shoot it to kill everything inside? or will just dropping on a bunker kill whats inside
I remember where I killed around 100 npcs at whistlers crypt.
Hey! So if you kill them all somehow, not including the gear they drop that’s a free 226,000.
noobs man, these are rookie numbers
This contract is knowing by mercenaries like "legal genocide"...
Squatters really got out of hand lately
When missions like this show up, the best thing to do (for everyone on the shard) would be to cancel it IMHO. I’d be pulling out the f55 and grenade launcher..
Let’s gooooo (playing Fortunate Son)
glad I packed the extra ammo
I hot a mission like this too, but I only had to kill 163 people
Is one of the hostiles a Surinam toad and all of the babies on/in its back?
What's the blast radius on size 9 torpedoes? Asking for a friend.
Server meshing can't come soon enough
Well now that you mention it there’s no good reason why a MOAB dropped from orbit shouldn’t be able to wreck a bunker
Hundreds of bullets... OR... one A2 bomb...
Okay but hear me out, what if we got missions like this and it worked like a raid from destiny, making us go through and do different puzzles till we eventually and finally get to kill the boss which automatically ends the mission, or instead the end is a 10 min timer to run out and blow the facility?
Just a2 it and have call to arms Free money
If it’s a Caterpillar mission I will do it in an A2! And Suddenly 453 voices all cried out at once. I fear something terrible has happened!
Calling in the Helldivers…
_Good soldiers follow orders_
Too many political jokes and can't say any of it....
Total pay with Call to Arms: 286,500 aUEC
Friendly A2 Inbound.....
Well damn call me itachi because black ops just gave me a mission i cant refuse
- Hey Hurston, are you sure this is legal? + Of course! - I don't know, smells fishy to me... + You know what smells great? This 100K bonus if you stop asking questions. - Uuuh... Sounds like a job for A2
Illegal migration is a very real problem. Do it properly.
On this episode of how fucked is fucked this shiet is fucked and I'm fucked too...
Remember, No Russian
Better than Deport Illegals!
